New Research Advises Treatment Recommendation Changes for Acetaminophen

In an ongoing effort to provide the community with the latest research news for beneficial health treatment options, NextGen Nutritionals has released the following free report. Read more here

Tallahassee, FL, United States – August 27, 2015 /PressCable/

New research, conducted at The George Institute for Global Health at the University of Sydney in Australia has reported findings that support a radical change in policy direction for the treatment of spinal pain, as well as osteoarthritis of the hip or knee.

Gustavo Machado, the lead study author, says, “Worldwide, paracetamol [acetaminophen] is the most widely used over-the-counter medicine for musculoskeletal conditions, so it is important to reconsider treatment recommendations, given this new evidence.”

The research publication states, “High quality evidence showed that patients taking paracetamol are nearly four times more likely to have abnormal results on liver function tests – paracetamol is ineffective in the treatment of low back pain and provides minimal short term benefit for people with osteoarthritis. These results support the reconsideration of recommendations to use paracetamol for patients with low back pain and osteoarthritis of the hip or knee in clinical practice guidelines.”

The randomized controlled study trials compared the efficacy and safety of paracetamol, generally known as acetaminophen — and sold under various common brand names, such as Tylenol, Anacin, and numerous over the counter drugs used for sinus, PMS, and sleeplessness symptoms, to name a few.

Following the publication of this study, the U.S. National Library of Medicine released guidelines for use of these over-the-counter remedies, saying “Taking too much acetaminophen can cause liver damage, sometimes serious enough to require liver transplantation or cause death. You might accidentally take too much acetaminophen if you do not follow the directions on the prescription or package label carefully, or if you take more than one product that contains acetaminophen.” Learn more about their recommendations and the other brand names that contain acetaminophen here.

Further concerning is the fact that the study found “high quality evidence” of a significant but small effect, compared to the placebo, on hip or knee osteoarthritis but is only helpful in the short term. So although patients get a brief amount of relief, it isn’t long before the benefits stop, yet typically people most likely continue taking acetaminophen in hopes it will work as it did in the beginning – possibly risking further health problems.

Study authors summarized the success of their findings, “Overall, our results are based on ‘high quality’ evidence (GRADE) and therefore further research is unlikely to change this evidence. This systematic review should inform clinical practice and policy with regard to first line care of these patients.”

National Psoriasis Foundation Releases Latest Research Discoveries

In an effort to support psoriasis awareness month and the millions of patients who struggle with the challenges of living with skin irritations and other related symptoms, Fenvir has released the following report. Read more here.

Tallahassee, FL, United States – August 27, 2015 /PressCable/

The National Psoriasis Foundation released alarming statistics for Psoriasis awareness month, reporting 7.5 million are suffering from symptoms of psoriasis, with 33 percent reporting impacts in social interactions, and 59 percent saying psoriasis is a problem in their everyday life. As surprising as the large number of people negatively affected by the disease is, what may be more shocking is the unfortunate fact that over half are not satisfied with treatment.

Psoriasis can develop anywhere on the body, presenting in various types of skin lesions that often burn and itch. Research has yet to find a cause, or a cure, but the National Psoriasis Foundation continually pursues ongoing studies into the latest treatment options and remains hopeful that educating the community on the statistics, symptoms, and prevalence of psoriasis will prompt progression in research and education of effective treatment options.

Scientists hypothesize that a small percentage – 2 to 3 percent – develop psoriasis, yet at least 10 percent of people actually have genes that predispose them to the disease. When DNA contains a combination of these genes, skin eruptions typically develop in response to “triggers”, such as stress, skin injury, certain types of medication, and infection. Symptoms are individual, but lesions often appear on elbows, knees, and scalp.

The latest research statistics found that psoriasis is not gender biased, affecting men and women at the same rate, however, 2.5 percent of Caucasians have psoriasis, and only approximately 1.3 percent of African Americans suffer from the disease. Typically developing in ages ranging from 15 to 35 years, approximately 10 to 15 percent are affected at a younger age.

Breakthrough research, published at the National Library of Medicine, has linked psoriasis to systemic inflammation, stating, “Psoriasis is a systemic, immune-mediated disorder.” Progressive studies also found approximately 30 percent of psoriasis patients will also develop psoriatic arthritis – an inflammatory form of arthritis — and about 11 percent already have it. While the immune system is designed to protect the body from pathogens, such as bacteria and viruses, scientists have found that in psoriasis, immune cells can “misfire”, leading to inflammation that promotes an abnormal accelerate growth of skin cells that form the lesions found in psoriasis.

Fenvir is a natural health and wellness company that supports optimal immune system function and skin health through research and community education. Read more at http://www.fenvir.com/psoriasis-awareness-month.

Global Refinery Catalyst Market Will Be $4.3 Billion in 2018: Acute Market Reports

AcuteMarketReports.com has announced the addition of “Global Refinery Catalyst Market Will Be $4.3 Billion in 2018: Acute Market Reports” Market Research Report to their Database.

Refinery Catalyst Provides Solid State Storage of Energy Useful for Smarter Planet Sensors, Electric Vehicle Batteries, and Renewable Energy Substation Storage. Refinery catalyst markets at $3.3 billion in 2011 are anticipated to reach $4.3 billion in 2018. Market growth comes in large part from demand for cleaner diesel fuel and the availability of newer technology and nanotechnology.

Browse Full Report With TOC at:
http://www.acutemarketreports.com/report/refinery-catalyst-industry-report

This new 2012 study on refinery catalysts study has 683 pages, 188 tables and figures. Worldwide markets are poised to achieve steady growth as countries impose stricter environment controls on the manufacture and use of fossil fuels.

Hydroprocessing catalysts are used to create cleaner fuels–especially ULSD. Demand for cleaner fuels is driving the market. Refining catalysts are experiencing strong growth this year. New fuel standards are coupled with refinery increasing use of heavier and dirtier feedstocks and major additions to refining capacity. Refining catalysts are moving to a more balanced market. Producers of fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts had a surge in demand. The market is shifting from one characterized by oversupply to a more stable sales effort. Hydroprocessing catalyst supply-demand is evolving.

Hydroprocessing catalysts are the fastest-growing refinery catalysts. These catalysts help control and improve the operational efficiencies in the petroleum refining process. Demand is lower for the more mature FCC catalysts than the hydroprocessing catalysts. Hydroprocessing catalysts have passed FCC catalysts, becoming the largest segment of the refinery catalyst market.

Low sulfur regulations in developed countries, implementation of some sulfur restrictions in China, India and Mexico, and other countries is a significant market driving force. Increasingly higher sulfur-content is present in oil coming out of the ground.

The rapidly increasing demand for gasoline and diesel has increased the requirement for raw materials for their production. The limited supply of raw materials increases the overall cost of production.

Reforming catalysts are fundamental to the modernization of product reformate. They contain hydrocarbons with more complex molecular shapes having higher octane values than the hydrocarbons in the naphtha feedstock. The process separates hydrogen atoms from the hydrocarbon molecules and produces significant amounts of byproduct hydrogen gas.

Hydrogen is useful for fuel cells, meaning that refineries could become environments for generating electricity. Hydrogen is useful in stationary fuel cells that are evolving a market for providing local power in campus environments. Local power generation is becoming more valued as people realize that the cost of conditioning electricity for the grid is an unnecessary expense in local power environments.

Stationary fuel cells represent the base for distributed power generation worldwide. No more new coal plants, no mare extensions to the grid. Distributed power has become mainstream. Distributed generation (DG) refers to power generation at the point of consumption. The use of hydrogen and the manufacture of hydrogen in refinery environments could become significant aspect of markets.

Browse All Reports of This Category at:
http://www.acutemarketreports.com/category/oil-and-gas-market

According to Susan Eustis, the lead author of the study, “These factors have attracted manufacturers to refinery catalysts, as these help extract relatively more diesel and gasoline from the same amount of crude oil. The refinery catalyst market is thus boosted by the fact that the efficient use of catalysts can help the manufacturers’ better address the increasing energy demand. Hydroprocessing faces significant challenges as crude feeds get heavier; there will be more sulphur and nitrogen to extract; more aromatics to saturate; more metals to remove; and more coke to deal with. Refiners have ageing facilities, which may not be designed and optimized to meet new challenges.”

Generating power on-site, rather than centrally, eliminates the cost, complexity, interdependencies, and inefficiencies associated with transmission and distribution. Like distributed computing (i.e. the PC) and distributed telephony (i.e. the mobile phone), distributed power generation shifts control to the consumer.

As more capital investment is needed, costs for refining fossil fuels will rise, stimulating markets for renewable energy, making them more competitive with fossil fuels.

Hydrotreating catalysts will continue to achieve the best growth in the petroleum refining market, aided by the increasingly sour nature of the crude petroleum supplied to the market. Efforts by Brazil, China, India and Russia to improve their air quality by the introduction of low-sulfur fuels are ongoing. Hydrocracking and fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) catalysts achieve advances, particularly in Asia as the growing motor vehicle fleet stimulates new gasoline and diesel fuel demand.

Global Utility Grade Wind Turbine Market Is Expected To Reach $96.7 Billion By 2018: Acute Market Reports

AcuteMarketReports.com include new market research report “Global Utility Grade Wind Turbine Market Is Expected To Reach $96.7 Billion By 2018: Acute Market Reports” to its huge collection of research reports.

Worldwide markets are poised to achieve significant growth as countries impose stricter environment controls on the use for fossil fuels and coal to generate electricity. The fact that wind energy has reached parity for the long term comparative cost of energy, bodes well for market growth.

Browse Full Report With TOC at:
http://www.acutemarketreports.com/report/utility-grade-wind-turbine-market

China is emerging as a significant user of wind energy. The leadership of China has a focus on local generation of electricity using wind and solar renewable sources. Chinese leadership is very concerned about the pollution brought by the fossil fuel power generations and is very concerned about the deleterious effect of air pollution on the grandchildren. Like people everywhere, these leaders are very attached to family and to their grandchildren.

Japan is anticipated to start to replace its entire nuclear electricity generating capacity. That nuclear power generation capacity has been shut down completely and is unlikely to ever reopen. Floating wind generator systems represent a significant market opportunity for vendors. Wind systems are relatively quick to put in place and get operational.

The aim of virtually every government in the world is to encourage low carbon energy generation technologies to take over. This strategy echoes with a core message from the International Energy Agency’s World Energy Outlook 2011: Delaying action to reduce emissions is a ‘false economy’ – for every $1 of investment avoided in the power sector before 2020 an additional $4.3 would need to be spent after 2020 to compensate for the increased emissions.

A single Vestas wind turbine generates 25 times more energy than it uses in its lifecycle. A single Vestas wind turbine emits only one percent of carbon dioxide when compared to a coal power plant. When producing solutions to harness wind energy a small negative impact on the environment is made. Vestas is committed to reducing this impact to the extent possible.

China led the world in installing wind-power capacity in2011. It is very interesting that China is moving to implement local generation of renewable energy. This is a strategic move to use the wind energy where it is generated. The ability to use wind electricity where it is generated as much as possible appears to be the most cost efficient way to leverage renewable energy.

Local generation of wind energy is the most efficient way to utilize the power. Wind energy is poised to be less expensive than any other type of energy generation, faster to implement, and easier to store. The ability to distribute it directly from substations leverages an in place infrastructure, supporting direct investment in energy generation rather than build out of expensive high energy transmission lines.

Most electricity is used near urban centers that are not high wind areas, conducive to building wind farms with high power turbines. Localization of wind energy generation represents a way to get close to cities and population centers in a way that eliminates the need to build high power transmission lines. Localized wind energy can be transmitted to electrical substations and distributed to the users in an efficient manner.

Local delivery of wind energy is a priority for the Chinese because they see it as a way to avoid the crushing costs of building high voltage transmission systems. Vestas China has received its first V100 turbine order. The order came from Datang Hubei Renewable Energy (Datang Renewable). The newest addition to the 2 MW platform in China took place in early 2011. The order represents an important step into the low wind regime in China, but also a step into the new geographical market of the Hubei province for Vestas.

The 27 units of V100-1.8 MW turbines have a total capacity of 48.6 MW. They will be installed in the Long Ganhu wind farm in the Hubei province, a low-wind site with an average wind speed at 5 m/s. Compared to other wind power plants in China, the Long Ganhu site is situated close to one of the intensively energy consuming areas of Hubei province.

This answers the call from the National Government of pursuing the development of “distributed” wind power in China. The successful application of Vestas’ V100 at this wind site will set an example for distributed wind power at low-wind sites in other provinces, and the open-up in the Hubei province will bring new business opportunities for Vestas.

Browse All Reports of This Category at:
http://www.acutemarketreports.com/category/utilities-market

The low-wind sites in China is a new market of huge potential, but a new market implies new challenges for wind power developers. A proven and reliable technical platform and well-recognized business partners are a plus. Datang Renewable’s selection of Vestas for low-wind sites is the best recognition of long-term value in cooperation with a market leading vendor. The contract is of great significance; it helps open up a new market for Vestas, but also firms steps towards the exploitation of the dominant wind regime in China.

Vendors have a significant presence in renewables-based energy generation technologies: hydro, solar thermal and photovoltaic and biomass. Vendors own cogeneration assets, producing hydrogen through wind power. Hydrogen is used in stationary fuel cells, creating electricity for campus environments that is stable 24 hours per day. In this case, hydrogen becomes an energy storage mechanism.

According to Susan Eustis, lead author of the study, “wind energy market growth is inevitable. The requisite 100 successful trials have long since proved the viability of the technology, the turbines have elaborate systems engineering to ensure simplicity of design, and the costs provide wind generated energy at parity with fossil fuel generation. As storage systems evolve to mitigate the difficulties in intermittent supply of wind, wind energy will grow at a phenomenal rate. Storage will come from the manufacture of hydrogen to achieve campus fuel cell systems and from thin film batteries that provide 40,000 times the energy density of existing lead acid batteries. Breakthroughs in lithium will also provide better energy storage.”

Markets growing as fast as the wind energy markets have been growing have difficulties in the evolution of technology and manufacturing. Several vendors report difficulties in manufacturing. Vestas had significant difficulties meeting obligations and had to address manufacturing issues, but retained its brand recognition as a company offering a high quality unit.

Sinovel was not so fortunate. Sinovel encountered macroeconomic cyclical fluctuations as well as delays to some project approvals which impacted sales revenues and also caused a relatively large increase in management costs. Management costs went up 78% to 288m yuan in 2011. Companies in China have come under further pressure this year after grid companies temporarily halted new connections amidst a review of turbine quality.

Sinovel had some market setbacks. In addition to the fatal accidents, a short-circuit accident in February at a Jiuquan wind farm in Gansu seems emblematic of Sinovel’s struggles. The mishap knocked 598 turbines, with a combined capacity of 840,000 kilowatts, off the grid. Fluctuating voltage during the incident threatened the entire region’s power system, according to the State Electricity Regulatory Commission. The commission called the incident “the gravest accident in China’s wind power industry in recent years.”

Chinese wind-turbine prices have declined by around 20% for each of the past three years and sell for around half the price of a machine sold in Europe. Chinese wind turbine companies have come under further pressure this year after grid companies temporarily halted new connections amidst a review of turbine quality.

GE encountered market difficulty of a different nature. Demand for wind energy in the U.S. dropped about 50 percent to 4,900 megawatts. The slump prompted Fairfield, Connecticut-based GE, which has the largest share of the U.S. market, to improve its design and attract customers in new low wind markets. Towers are taller, blades longer and lighter, and turbines more reliable. New designs target installation in low wind areas for local distribution of wind generated power.

Wind turbine markets at $32.2 billion in 2011 are anticipated to reach $96.7 billion by 2018. Growth is expected to be worldwide and a result of vendor achievement of marked improvements in the technology. Wind markets for land based high wind areas are saturated. The ability to provide local land based systems in low wind areas and to implement offshore wind farms bodes well for market growth. Countries that invest in wind energy will achieve significant strategic advantage economically as wind energy represents efficient energy infrastructure delivery. Countries that do not invest in wind energy infrastructure will be left in the dust economically.

Retailer Urges Consumers to be Wary of Flashlight Apps

There have been some reports that flashlight apps are stealing people’s information from their cell phones and sending to other countries. One retailer says there’s no need to take that chance.

New York, United States – August 27, 2015 /PressCable/

Cyber crimes have received a lot of attention lately as many websites have been hacked into and as a result, people’s personal information stored on the site has been stolen by criminals. The result is either bank accounts or credit card information is compromised, or the account holders have their identities stolen. And identity theft is a major concern among many consumers because once a thief has someone’s personal information, it can take years to financially recover from it.

“All of the reports that flashlight apps allow thieves to steal the personal data off phones and send it to other thieves in countries like India, Russia, and China should give pause to people before they download the apps onto their phones,” says a retailer of a pocket-sized flashlight. “With the new products on the market, no one should have to expose themselves to identify theft or any other kind of financial crimes for the simple need of a flashlight.”

John Sileo, a security expert agrees. He says that the apps work in the background on phones and mines information from them. “He says they’re taking people’s phone number, GPS location data, and they’re even taking over entire network operating systems, meaning if they are doing banking on another app, they can ‘sniff’ that and see the banking information that they’re sending.

But for many people, the warning comes too late. “Once someone has download a bad flashlight app,” says the retailer, “it’s too late. The download terms that people unwittingly agree to grants permission for the app maker to look at and take the personal information stored on their phone in exchange for the use of the free app. A much better solution is to use a small flashlight that is the size of a cell phone and can be carried anywhere.”

Sileo stress that most of the stolen information goes to marketing companies because the app company sells the information in order to make money. In other words, they give away the app for free in order to mine people’s information to sell it. But, there have also been documented cases by the Federal Trade Commission where thieves buy the personal information and use it to commit identity theft crimes. He suggests that if someone has a flashlight app they delete it right away, change their passwords, and keep a close eye on their accounts to make sure no one is using them for malicious purposes.

NHTSA “Spotlights” Recalls

Dallas, Tx, 08/25/2015 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Dallas auto collision attorney Amy Witherite represents injured victims of car crashes. While many car accidents are caused by driver error, sometimes a crash is caused by a defective vehicle or vehicle part. Unsafe and defective car parts could, for example, cause brakes to fail, increase the risk that a car would catch on fire after a crash, or prevent an airbag from functioning as designed.

In the past year, multiple car companies have recalled cars because of defective or unsafe products. In fact, last year, the nation experienced the highest number of vehicle recalls in more than thirty years. In response to these recalls, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has launched a new website. This website, titled Recalls Spotlight and available at http://www.safercar.gov/rs/index.html, puts a “spotlight” on recalled vehicles and vehicle parts. With this website, the agency alerts Americans to ongoing recalls and posts press releases regarding those recalls. NHTSA answers commonly asked questions in an “FAQ” section and posts reports and newsletters. Consumers may sign up for recall alerts by using a NHTSA tool and may check to see if a car is under recall by using the vehicle identification number lookup tool. Finally, if a consumer has a problem with his car and believes it to be related to a mechanical defect, the consumer may file a complaint by using the tools provided.

Global Video Streaming Outside The Firewall Market Is Expected To Reach $5.8 Billion by 2018: Acute Market Reports

New Market Research Reports Title “Global Video Streaming Outside The Firewall Market Is Expected To Reach $5.8 Billion by 2018: Acute Market Reports” Has Been Added to AcuteMarketReports.com Report Database.

The 2012 study has 414 pages, 119 tables and figures. Worldwide markets are poised to achieve outstanding growth as people look for video content online and enterprises go outside the firewall to get content for employees.

Video content delivery on the internet is all about content and infrastructure. Infrastructure is needed to manage end point devices. Content is almost an afterthought once the infrastructure is in place. The vision of video content delivery is to change fundamentally the way media is accessed and consumed. User generated content represents a move away from entirely professional content to some content captured on the fly.

Access This Full Report at:
http://www.acutemarketreports.com/report/video-streaming-outside-the-firewall-market

As better video tools become more widely available, the quality of the user generated content and the professional video begins to converge. There has often been little or no charge for uploading user-generated content. As a result, data centers are replete with exabytes of user-generated content that, in addition to creating a corporate asset, may also contain data that can be regarded as a liability.

As mobile network connection speeds increase, the average bit rate of content accessed through the Internet and the mobile network will increase. 9/11 Advocates Host Zadroga Fundraiser on Sept. 9, Parker Waichman LLP Comments

The Zadroga Act provides crucial benefits to sick and injured 9/11 responders and survivors.

New York, USA – August 27, 2015 /PressCable/

Parker Waichman LLP, a national law firm that has spent many years fighting to ensure that the heroes of the 9/11 terrorist attacks are never forgotten, comments that a fundraiser benefit will be held for Citizens for the Extension of the James Zadroga Act. According to an announcementon the advocacy group’s website, The 14th Anniversary Commemoration Benefit will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 from 5:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. The event will be held at UFT Building, located at 52 Broadway New York, NY 10004.

Parker Waichman comments that renewing the Zadroga Act is crucial for many responders and survivors suffering from 9/11-related conditions such as chronic respiratory conditions and cancer. The Act’s two programs, the World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program and the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF), will expire unless Congress takes action. “If the Zadroga Act is not reauthorized, a number of 9/11 heroes will be left without the benefits they need and deserve,” said Matthew J. McCauley, Senior Litigation Counsel at Parker Waichman. “The firm continues to support extending Zadroga benefits and encourages individuals to attend the fundraiser.”

Parker Waichman also continues to remain dedicated to fighting for the rights of responders and survivors. In fact, the firm was recently involved in the “Take Action” tool that allows responders, survivors, and advocates the ability to review any Congressperson’s activities concerning the upcoming expiration of the James Zadroga Act. Parker Waichman assisted with the research on, and creation of, the Tool, which may be accessed at: Renew 911 Health Organization’s website.

Parker Waichman comments that many 9/11-related conditions may take years to manifest. “Some responders and survivors may not even be aware that they are suffering from a condition due to 9/11,” said Gary Falkowitz, Managing Attorney at Parker Waichman. “Unless the Zadroga Act is extended, these individuals will lose access to critical medical care, monitoring, and compensation.”

Parker Waichman continues to fight, alongside Ground Zero first responders, survivors, and advocates, to help ensure passage of Zadroga Act amendments, and vows to continue its efforts to safeguard these heroes and ensure extension of the much-deserved Zadroga Act compensation.
