Anti Ragging Campaign held at KCG College of Technology

Dr. C Sylendra Babu, IPS, addresses students on the ill effects of Ragging and its consequences

August 2015 – KCG College of Technology recently launched an anti Ragging Campaign at their college among its student community. The students were addressed by Dr. C. Sylendra Babu, IPS (Additional Director General of Police, Coastal Security Group, Tamilnadu) who served as the chief guest of the event. Dr. Sylendra Babu highlighted the importance of education and imparting leadership qualities among the students. He also spoke about the forms, consequences and punishment for ragging offences.

The students were inspired and motivated by his words. The principal and vice principal further emphasised the importance of a ragging free campus reminding the seniors that their juniors were a part of the same student community and they were to be welcomed. Their words were received well by the 800 students in attendance who pledged that they would not be involved in ragging and to prove it, they signed a statement to the same effect. A tree plantation event was also organized as part of the campaign.

Following this, 30 students, including 20 NCC cadets, and 10 members of the staff staged a rally to show the public their commitment to the cause. The students walked a distance of about 3 km from the college in the Karapakkam area. The rally drew the attention of the people there with motorists slowing down and even showing signs of approval of the students’ actions.

Ragging has proved to be a menace to junior students in colleges across the nation. Even though it is a punishable act, the practice is still prevalent. The only way to put a stop to ragging is by ensuring that the students are made aware of its effects. This is why the positive response from the students is so encouraging and that’s also why KCG College of Technology truly is a ragging free campus.

Credit Card Processing, Merchant Services, For ‘Credit Card Terminal’ For EMV, Chip Card, American Express

Image: http://pressreleasejet.com/newsreleases/images/2015/ict220-with-pin-pad.jpg

LOS ANGELES, CA – August 26, 2015 – Merchant services and POS providers, launched a new version of the American Express Co.’s OptBlue program. On June 11, 2015, the company and sales channel partners began offering select merchants a 1.99 percent rate plus $0.10 on AmEx card-present transactions processed on Merchant Services systems.

Restaurant merchants must have active Merchant Services processing and POS system service agreements in place with average tickets below $150 to be eligible for the program. The company expects this to drive adoption of merchant services systems while providing a point of differentiation for its agents and partners. Participating merchants will be guaranteed the discounted AmEx rate for a full year, the company reported.

Fundamentally, the OptBlue program that powers this pricing initiative is a real game changer for the industry.

AmEx has steadily implemented third-party sales models over the last two decades. Its External Sales Agent (ESA) program, which began in the 1990s, pays ancillary bonuses to merchant level salespeople (MLSs) who submit AmEx merchant agreements with new merchant processing applications.

In both the ESA and OnePoint programs, AmEx owns the merchant relationships and sets the pricing. OptBlue, introduced in 2013, was the first AmEx reseller program to enable third-party acquirers to own the merchant relationship, manage credit and chargeback risks, service the accounts, and use AmEx wholesale pricing to set their own rates.

Doubling down on OptBlue’s all-in-one program.

OptBlue was created to complement other AmEx initiatives such as Shop Small, a program that encourages AmEx cardholders to patronize small, local businesses. Designed for merchants with projected AmEx charge volumes of less than $1 million per year, OptBlue aims to simplify credit card processing for small-business owners. Resellers can consolidate AmEx transactions with other major card brand activities to provide merchants with an all-in-one merchant statement and point of contact for all their processing needs. Both AmEx and Merchant Services strive to evolve their programs in response to payments industry trends. Merchant Services introduced a free POS initiative in 2011 with a flat monthly fee for related services that he described as being “no different than the free cell phone you get when you sign a Verizon or AT&T service agreement.”

OptBlue as part of the card brand’s ongoing commitment to enhance the small merchant experience in the United States. The program will help deliver a smart and easy solution for U.S. small merchants to enjoy the benefits of American Express Card acceptance while making it convenient for consumers to Shop Small year round.

The industry has observed a steady increase in boarding of small to midsize merchant accounts, many of whom are price sensitive and averse to AmEx acceptance. As merchant providers became more focused on offering POS technology, our target market evolved into the small and midsized restaurant and hospitality industry. that this Market segment have traditionally perceived AmEx to be a premium and highly priced card brand.

That perception and appeal to that market by lowering the American Express rates. The industry expects the program to deliver substantial cost savings to merchants who already accept American Express, freeing up funds that could be used to upgrade outdated equipment to ISO’s POS systems. Also anticipated is the special pricing to lower barriers to entry for merchants who have never accepted American Express due to perceived higher costs.

Xarelto Lawsuit Update: Clinical Guidelines Warn Those With End-Stage Kidney Disease

August 26, 2015 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on a new development in Xarelto side effects research. Since its release, Xarelto’s run on the United States blood thinner market has been plagued with many Xarelto lawsuits alleging that the drug causes serious adverse events including the development of blood clots, pulmonary embolism, and uncontrollable internal bleeding. The FDA has since then attached two ‘Black Box’ labels to Xarelto, the most strict warning the organization can hand out to a drug.

Recently, new clinical guidelines have been released in which doctors warn that patients with serious kidney problems should not be taking Xarelto due to the risk of blood clots, stroke, and excess bleeding.

Patients With Kidney Disease Advised to Avoid Xarelto Due To Side Effects:

Established medical groups such as The American College of Cardiology, The American Heart Association, and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons have all worked together to develop treatment guidelines for patients who need to be medicated with blood thinning drugs.

These groups collectively advised that when patients are diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD), “warfarin should be used”. They stressed that warfarin be used in cases where the patient is receiving hemodialysis or those who are in serious stages of kidney failure. While they noted that blood thinners such as Xarelto, rivaroxaban, may be considered for use in patients with moderate to severe CKD, they said that these drugs should not be used in patients with end-stage CKD.

The use of blood thinners in patients with CKD requires doctors to be careful because these patients are at a higher risk of experiencing blood clots and have a higher risk of bleeding complications. This is problematic with Xarelto because when the kidney’s aren’t functioning correctly, they are not capable of processing drugs normally and flushing them totally out of the system. This can potentially result in too much of the drug being in the body at once, therefore increasing the risk even further for an internal bleeding event. For these reasons, Xarelto is not recommended to use with patients who are in stage 5 CKD.

Lack of Antidote Makes Xarelto Side Effects More Dangerous:

When Xarelto was released onto the market in 2011, the manufacturers of the drug, Bayer AG and Johnson&Johnson’s pharmaceutical unit, Jannsen Pharmaceuticals, advertised the drug as an easier alternative to warfarin, with its ‘one size fits all’ method of dosing and the relaxed blood testing and dietary restrictions required for the drug’s success. However, what the manufacturers failed to warn doctors and patients of is the fact that unlike warfarin, Xarelto does not have an antidote to reverse its effects. Because there is no antidote, if a patient taking Xarelto suffers from an internal bleeding event, there is no way to stop the bleeding, leading to an uncontrollable bleeding event and serious injury.

A study completed in 2015 revealed that blood monitoring in patients taking Xarelto would have been very helpful in assessing a patient’s risk for excessive bleeding, despite the manufacturer’s endless claims that this step was not necessary.

The Pac Rim Business Council is conducting the ‘Fire Sale’ of the 150 indestructible, pre-fabricated homes that were built following the plant’s retrofit two years ago in order to extend their core business of manufacturing shipping containers.

The 150 pre-fabricated CoMoDeco dwellings can be owned today for $15,500. usd, with delivery within an estimated 45 days from order to the purchaser’s front door. Estimated shipping and freight costs are less than $3,500.

Terms and a negotiable price is available for the purchaser after delivery of the ‘show model’ to its final destination.

The new CoMoDeco structures are built from innovative, pre molded, theft proof factory grade components that will sustain a 10 point Cyclone or 8 point Hurricane.

All Cascon components utilize the standardized and rigorous construction protocols that go into the manufacture of shipping containers. “Imagine a factory of Legos (TM) on steroids,” quips James Quinlan, an early adapter of the container home bloomlet.

“As the pendulum swings to micro and sustainable living, CoMoDeco is perfectly positioned to lead the way,” says James the co-founder of the Rhythm Foundation (with Laura Quinlan and Gene de Souza). Quinlan is an intrepid pioneer of the recent gentrification of the Wynwood Art District and the South Beach’s Real Estate boom that continues unabated two decades later.

With Cascon’s potential output of 2000 homes a month, CoMoDeco’s standard features include fully built out interiors and exteriors with windows, doors, electricity , plumbing, wall and floor treatments, bathroom fixtures and kitchen outlets. Designed to meet stringent LEED specifications, solar panels, roof top gardens, atmosphere water reclamation systems, built in wi-fi and optional green tech amenities are available upon order.

With an estimated life span of 35 years, a Co-MoDeco Home or Structure offers owners a life changing alternative to housing costs that quite often are unattainable. The dream of home ownership is now within reach. The all inclusive purchase price with shipping is less than the cost of one thumbtack a day prorated over a decade and this includes shipping and assessments of 3% per annum.

“With 100s of design variations available and over 25 distinct blueprints to choose from; the design of a CoMoDeco structure is only limited by the owner’s imagination.”

“CoMoDeco structures are built to accommodate businesses, homes, multi story offices, emergency relief structures and any kind of commercial enterprise from mini spas, surf shacks to an espresso cafés,” confirmers Cathy Houng, former Shipping Coordinator for the Port of Da Nang and Project Manager for the Pac Rim Business Council in Hanoi. “If the purchaser can imagine it, CoMoDeco can build it!” according to Holmes Stoner.

CoModeco dwellings and businesses are built to meet and exceed the owner’s vision, design and stipulations. LEED specifications and zoning requirements are assessed in advance of their manufacture.

The recommended foundation for a container home is four 3′ ft ‘tent like’ spokes or set on elevated blocks to assure the natural surroundings and environment is not harmed. CoMoDecos positioned ‘off’ the grid require the installation of a septic tank and a generator when solar power does not suffice for comfortable habitation.

With the capacity to output 2000 homes a month, we have a housing solution that never before was available in such volume,” says Director of Ambiance, Paul Sokolski of Designs of the Future, LLC.

“The multi-use buildings and residences are being manufactured in the Cascon Industries million square foot plant in Hanoi, Viet Nam. Built in 2004 and retrofitted with an additional capital infusion of 8 million USD (or 240,000,000 Taiwanese Dollars) in 2013 the factory is equipped to meet demand. Cascon has up to 700 engineers, designers and tradesmen at the ready to meet emergency demand for permanent structures,” according to Cathy Houng, Supervising Director of the Pac Rim Business Council in Hanoi. “We take special pride that our manufacturer exceeds the ISO 9000 International Standard of Excellence while utilizing peerless construction protocols,” she confirms.

CoMoDeco Homes and AH4U are finally ready to “expand in leaps without boundaries or limitations,” says L. Monte Cook III, founder of AH4U and S.O.S. where partial proceeds help to underwrite Supporting Our Servicemen (S.O.S.), a 501c3.

Defiance Continues to Intercept Wide Zones of Mineralization at San Acacio

VANCOUVER, BC / ACCESSWIRE / August 26, 2015 / Defiance Silver Corp (TSXV: DEF) (OTC: DNCVF) (“Defiance”) is pleased to report the results from a further three holes drilled at the San Acacio deposit. Drilling continues to prove that mineralization continues at depth and along strike beyond the current resource at both wide widths and strong grades.

Detailed assaying of geochemical anomalies in Hole SAD 15-07 produced intersections of 3.6m grading 223 g/t AgEq, and 2.4 m grading 222.08 g/t AgEq. This is a new vein in the Hanging Wall in addition to the lower San Acacio vein intersection reported previously in News Release July 7, 2015, of 7.4m grading 264.54 g/t AgEq within an overall vein intersection of 21.1m grading 130.6 g/t AgEq.

Hole SAD15-06 returned two wide vein intersections of 7.3m and 11.5m on a hanging wall and San Acacio veins respectively. Both Hole SAD15-06 and SAD 15-07 were drilled beneath the lower limits of the current resource and will further increase the resource.

Bruce Winfield, President & CEO of Defiance stated, “We are very pleased that the results continue to include wide widths of strong silver mineralization on the main San Acacio vein up to 190m below the current resource limit. The discovery of new veins is exciting with four of the eight holes drilled to date intersecting multiple veins with potential to increase the resource as well. We also have identified a later Phase II mineralization that is enriched in gold-zinc-lead relative to the historical production at the San Acacio Mine. These exciting results encourage us to continue drilling to expand the zone of mineralization both along strike and down dip.”

National Geographic Traveler outranked by Sara Raney’s Cruising Alaska in Style

Alaska History & Culture Enrichment Speaker, Sara Raney, outranked the National Geographic Travel by Christopher Baker on Amazon’s Top 5 Best Seller List.

Raney wrote “Cruising Alaska in Style: The Hidden Truth About What it Really Takes to Discover a Unique Unforgettable Alaska Cruise of a Lifetime… That Most Seasoned Cruisers Will Never Experience!” as the follow-up to her first Amazon Best Seller, “Senior Travel Guide: How to Survive Squatty Potties and More!” Surpassing National Geographic is a special honor for Raney because her book was pre-published and is not due to be released until August 31, 2015.

Certified by the State of Alaska as an Alaska Cruise Specialist, Raney is an avid fan of National Geographic Alaska cruise expeditions.

When asked about her two time Best Seller accomplishments, Raney stated, “I always say make your life a glorious adventure that brings you sliding in sideways with champagne in one hand and chocolate in the other, shouting, ‘WOW! WHAT A RIDE!’”

As a solo world traveler, Raney has been around the world to over 100 countries and visited all seven continents and the subcontinent of India; yet, Alaska holds a special place in Raney’s heart because she lived there for over seven years and she continues to cruise to Alaska yearly.

Raney helps savvy Alaska Cruise Enthusiast plan their Alaska cruise so they experience the authentic people, culture and wildlife of the Alaskan countryside.

As Raney states, “I design a better Alaska cruise experience so my clients aren’t stuck with people whose idea of fun is being constantly entertained with the noise of traditional cruise travel, daytime drunkenness and cafeteria food that taste like, well, cafeteria food.”
