Film hits Amazon and iTunes in February
Check any critic’s Top 10 film list of 2015 and it’s likely you’ll find at least a couple of horror movies on there. By the looks, 2016 will be no different with quite a few reviewer-friendly genre efforts on the way.
The ever-popular found footage genre – which some may credit “The Blair Witch Project” giving birth to in the late ’90s – is back with a vengeance, too. One of the most talked about releases coming out of that subgenre is February release “Lilin’s Brood”.
In this one, a “new media news coverage team (W.H.I.S.T.L.E.) is stranded near a beleaguered brothel in the middle of nowhere; recovered footage will reveal what happens when they encounter a group of women with a terrifying secret.”
Featuring a string of fresh faces, including Maxine Goynes, Brent King, Melinda Milton, Alberto Barros, Catherine Paiz, James Wellington, and Sandra Hinojosa, “Lilin’s Brood” comes from Mansa Mojo Brothas aka P.W Simon & Artii Smith.
The filmmaking duo have crafted a clever marketing ploy to help “Lilin’s Brood” stand out from the crowd (which, if the positive reviews are anything to go by, it will anyway!) – a NSFW poster that features a not-so-subtle depicition of an apple-vagina. Religious overtones have also been noted in the poster – what with the apple and snake.
Another great selling the film has in tow? The effective new trailer. Check it out below!
“Lilin’s Brood” will be released Feb 12 on Amazon on iTunes.
