Popular Baby Boomer Online Articles & Entertainment Magazine Launches New Site

New york, USA – March 29, 2016 /PressCable/

Mature Resources, a popular online magazine targeting baby boomers that has been established since 2004, has updated and relaunched their site packed with entertainment, facts and informative articles. The site has been mentioned by motivational speaker Mark Victor Hansen in his book, “How To Make The Rest Of ur Life The Best Of ur Life”. It is also recommended by Score.org, the business advice website.

More information on Mature Resources can be found on the company’s website at: http://matureresources.org.

Fact-based information doesn’t necessarily change depending on which generation a reader may be part of. But how people process that information certainly does, and how people apply it to their own lives can vary considerably between generations. Perhaps most importantly of all, what one generation considers valuable information might not necessarily be the same as another. Unlike many other websites online, Mature Resources aims to provide information that is valuable to the baby boomer generation in a way that makes sense to them.

The Mature Resources site has been an authority on baby boomers for over a decade. It is broken down into five key areas, including business, entertainment, finance, health and lifestyle categories. Each is home to magazine-style articles that range from entertaining topics like “10 Best Places To Travel With Kids” to pampering dogs and building bridges between different generations. The finance section of the site covers money management and pension advice, while health focuses on exercise routines, nutrition and beauty advice. Relationships is the largest category, broken down into travel reports, entertaining posts on hobbies, and a wide range of shopping articles.

Founded by Sharon Sultan Cutler, who has been featured in the New York Times, Newsday, and a range of radio and television programs, Mature Resources is the product of many years’ work and dedication to baby boomers and seniors. It was one of the first online publications geared especially towards the over-50s market and attracts thousands of readers. Sharon is the author of two books, one of which also focuses on baby boomer life.

Invokana Lawsuit Discussed Alleged Side Effects Linking Diabetes Type-2 Drug To Kidney Failure

March 29, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on concerning reports that type-2 diabetes drug Invokana has been linked to the development of severe kidney damage and kidney failure through adverse event reports to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The agency described having received 50 adverse event reports concerning renal impairment and kidney failure among patients taking the drug within its first year on the market alone.

Invokana is a new-generation diabetes drug which was approved by the FDA in March of 2013. It works by managing blood sugar (glucose) levels in type-2 diabetes patients. It does this by blocking the kidneys from reabsorbing extra sugar and instead using them to remove that sugar from the body through urination. The drug was the first to be released out of a group of similar new-generation drugs known as an SGLT2 class inhibitors. This is an abbreviation for sodium-glucose cotransporter-2.

Due to the fact that Invokana relies heavily upon the kidneys to do its job, it is now being alleged that it can potentially damage the organs or cause them stress. Many believe that these risks can be exacerbated among patients who have preexisting kidney damage, as is common for many diabetics due to the fact that diabetes is a condition which is notably hard on the kidneys.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a public safety communication on December 4, 2015, which discussed new label warning requirements for Invokana which would better address certain potential side effect risks. The agency noted that they had been in receipt of 19 reports detailing adverse events among patients who had claimed they developed life-threatening complications which started as urinary tract infections (UTIs) but later spread to blood or kidney infections. Because Invokana helps the kidneys to dispose of excess sugar through urine, the presence of extra sugar in this area can also cause the presence of extra bacteria. Each of the 19 patients detailed within these reports claim to have required hospitalization and dialysis, a kidney failure treatment. When kidney damage is sustained, it cannot be reversed, and therefore, patients with substantially damaged kidneys generally require dialysis until they are able to find a kidney transplant.

Kidney damage has also been the subject of a recent Invokana lawsuit, in addition to another potentially life-threatening side effect called diabetic ketoacidosis. Lawsuits discussing Invokana side effect allegations are filed against Invokana manufacturer and Johnson & Johnson subsidiary Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

The attorneys of Banville Law understand how concerning these potential side effect links are for patients currently using Invokana. They are dedicated to maintaining public awareness of any important safety information on Invokana or other similar SGLT2 class inhibitor drugs. To better accomplish this, they sponsor the online resource website TheProductLawyers.com. Additionally, the attorneys of Banville Law are now working to help patients who have taken these types of drugs and suffered from adverse events that they believe were caused by their use of the drugs. Banville Law attorneys want to ensure that these patients are given the important opportunity to investigate their legal rights in the matter. To help those wishing to investigate their legal options fully, the attorneys of Banville Law are offering complimentary legal consultations to affected individuals at this time, who may be eligible for significant compensation.

GTA Wireless Launches TapUSB Tap on/off USB power switch Crowdfunding Campaign

Michael Wen life hacker and inventor from Toronto, Ontario, Canada recently launched a crowdfunding campaign for his latest product TapUSB touch on/off USB power switch. He has developed TapUSB to be an interchangeable touch switch as a better and much easier alternative of pulling out the cable or the conventional flip switches.

There has been a surge of USB powered devices, especially USB LED devices, in the recent years, the market is full of different devices, gadgets, tools and toys that all use the USB ports for power. However, most of these do not come with a built in switch, which makes their use somewhat inconvenient. GTA Wireless wanted to resolve this problem by developing an interchangeable, easy to use and reliable switch that can be used  by plugging TapUSB between the USB power port and the USB device.

Mike said: “It all began when I fell in love with USB powered LED bulbs/lights/lamps in early 2015, I saw how cheap LED lights had become when I was browsing Amazon and eBay, some are selling for less than $1. So I bought a bunch of different USB bulbs, lamps and night lights. However, Most of USB LED bulbs/lights/lamps do not have a built-in switch, it is not convenient to plug in and pull out all the time. Finally,  I decided to design one myself.”

The “TapUSB Tap on/off USB power” switch project is currently in need of funding, therefore, GTAWireless has taken the initiative to launch a crowdfunding campaign on one of the most popular crowdfunding platforms Kickstarter.

The funds raised through the current crowdfunding campaign will be allocated to various aspects necessary for the completion of the product for customer use. A majority of the funding will be assigned to developing an easy to use, reliable and functional device, funds will also be used to market TapUSB to a large target market. A variety of different rewards and perks are also being offered to prize the generosity of those who support the campaign and the project through their monetary contributions.

Zofran Lawsuits See Increase In Filing As GSK’s Marketing Tactics Create Public Controversies

March 29, 2016 – – ZofranLegal.com reports on new controversies surrounding Zofran lawsuits in Boston, Massachusetts, as parents from across the United States continue to file complaints against the anti-nausea drug manufacturer GlaxoSmithKline, claiming that exposure to the drug while developing in the womb caused unborn babies to develop a range of severe and sometimes fatal birth defects.

In March of 2016, parents filed a lawsuit against GSK in the U.S. District Court for the Western District Court of Louisiana, Lafayette Division, claiming that fetal exposure to Zofran caused their son to develop congenital heart defects while in utero. The boy’s mother was prescribed Zofran during her first trimester of pregnancy to treat morning sickness. While the first trimester is a common time to experience nausea and vomiting associated with morning sickness, it is also a time when the fetus does much of its initial heart, limb, and mouth tissue formation. The son was reportedly born in November of 2012 and at this time he was diagnosed with the heart defects, and his parents were informed that he required immediate heart surgery, as well as extensive follow-up treatment.

Unfortunately, these parents are not alone in their claims. From across the United States, more than 220 parents have stepped forward to date, alleging that their children, who were also exposed to Zofran while in utero, have developed birth defects, including: cleft lip and palate, atrial septal and ventricular septal defects, transposition of the greater vessels, kidney defects, club foot, and respiratory distress syndrome.

Plaintiffs involved in these lawsuits commonly note that the drug was marketed and prescribed “off-label.” This term means that the drug was never FDA-approved to treat pregnant women for morning sickness. Zofran was instead approved by the FDA to treat nausea and vomiting episodes among patients who have recently undergone radiation, chemotherapy, or anesthesia. Reportedly, however, pharmaceutical giant GSK went on to market the drug as a safe and effective treatment for expectant mothers going through morning sickness to OB/GYNs as well as the general public. This led to “off-label” prescriptions, which were reportedly given to over 1 million women during just one year’s time.

As these plaintiffs await trials, the attorneys of Monheit Law are working to assist any women who used Zofran while pregnant and who subsequently gave birth to children with defects. They want to ensure that these women are provided with the important opportunity to evaluate their legal rights in full. Affected mothers, families, and children may be entitled to significant compensation attained through legal action. To better assist those who wish to look further into their legal rights, the attorneys of Monheit Law are also currently offering free legal consultations for qualifying parties.

To request additional information on Zofran lawsuits, or to ask questions, please contact Attorney Michael Monheit, Lead Attorney of Monheit Law, by calling (877) 620-8411.

Calgary Canada Class Action Xarelto Lawsuit Filed As Another Class Action Suit Is Likely Forming In Ontario

March 29, 2016 – – BloodThinnerHelp.com reports on an article recently published in the Calgary Sun discussing the a class action lawsuit which was filed against Bayer Inc., one manufacturer of the new-generation, blood-thinning drug Xarelto in Calgary, Canada. According to the head plaintiff in this Canadian class action lawsuit, the drug caused her to suffer from an uncontrollable bleeding episode which allegedly almost led to cardiac arrest.

This Canadian class action lawsuit closely follows the formation of Multidistrict Litigation number 2592 in the United States, which involves a group of more than 2,800 lawsuits filed against Xarelto. This MDL was formed by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. In addition to this group of Xarelto lawsuits in the United States, another group of more than 600 cases has formed a mass tort program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, created by the Court of Common Pleas. These lawsuits were filed against Bayer as well as Johnson & Johnson subsidiary, Janssen Pharmaceuticals.

According to the Calgary Sun, it was reported that as of March 2015, Health Canada had received around 1,100 reports detailing adverse events experienced by patients using Xarelto. The article notes that, according to a Toronto lawyer, if the class action is successful, “…it would be in the millions of dollars.” The article notes that another class action suit may be forming in Ontario as well.

In the United States, Xarelto gained FDA approval in 2011 to treat patients with pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis, and atrial fibrillation, as well as those recovering from hip and knee replacement surgeries. The drug was initially popular, launching onto the market as a revolutionary blood thinner that provided patients with more freedoms than traditional blood thinners had in the past. Since this time, however, Xarelto has become the subject of increasing controversies and is regarded by many as one of the most dangerous blood thinners on the market. The FDA has given the product two “black box” warnings, which are the most severe warnings a product can receive before being completely pulled from the market.

Commonly reported side effects that have been attributed to the drug by those filing suits are pulmonary embolisms (blood clots in the lung), rectal bleeding, heart attack, stroke, epidural hematoma, internal bleeding, gastrointestinal bleeding and brain hemorrhages.

As thousands of Xarelto lawsuit plaintiffs await trial, those involved expect that lawsuit numbers surrounding the anticoagulant drug will only continue to rise. As this continues, Attorney Joseph Osborne is working to help ensure that patients who believe they have suffered from adverse health events due to their use of Xarelto will be given the opportunity to fully evaluate their legal rights in the matter. These patients may be entitled to significant compensation attained through legal action. To better assist those affected, Attorney Osborne is offering complimentary legal consultations for qualified parties at this time.

To request additional information concerning Xarelto lawsuits, or to ask questions, please contact Attorney Joseph Osborne by calling (866) 425-8902.

Federal Jury Awards Over 1,000 Hours of Unpaid Wages to Former Crockett County Official

Franklin, TN, United States of America – March 29, 2016 /MarketersMedia/

A federal jury in Jackson, Tennessee awarded 1,263 hours of unpaid wages to Jay Nance, the former deputy director of the Crockett County Emergency Management Agency. The jury found that Crockett County had violated the Fair Labor Standards Act, and refused to pay Mr. Nance for overtime that he had worked. Mr. Nance was represented by Michael Russell of Gilbert Russell McWherter Scott & Bobbitt PLC.

Mr. Russell issued the following statement following the verdict: “I’m just thrilled for Jay, and we’re very grateful to the jury. They awarded my client every nickel we asked them to. I hope this result will bring about significant changes in the way Crockett County pays its employees.”

Mr. Nance had worked for Crockett County for over a decade, before leaving for another job in 2014. He worked as both a paramedic in Crockett County’s ambulance service and as deputy director of its emergency management agency. In the trial, Nance claimed that he had worked significant overtime, which the county had refused to pay. The jury found that Crockett County had “willfully” violated the law, essentially meaning that the county’s treatment of Mr. Nance was not an innocent mistake.
