May 30, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman stated this week that the recent death of an Iowa construction worker is yet another example of the need for change in construction safety and procedures. Moverman offered his sympathies to the family and friends of the construction worker as they mourn the loss of a man lost far too early.
Reports from KCII 8 indicate that construction workers were digging along a foundation wall when the 56-year-old man was trapped by a part of the wall that tipped over. The man was freed by members of the construction company and fire personnel but he was pronounced dead at the scene. Occupational Health and Safety officials are investigating the incident.
Sadly, these incidents are not uncommon. The number of incidents nationwide involving injury from a construction accident has steadily increased over the past few years. Common injuries that have been associated with construction accidents include brain injuries, spinal injuries, and broken or fractured bones.
As these incidents continue to occur across the U.S., Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman, is looking to represent those who have been injured as a result of a construction accident. Qualifying individuals may be entitled substantial financial compensation. Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman has been representing victims of construction accidents since 1989 and, in that time, has helped win over $500 million in settlements. The firm believes that victims of construction accidents are entitled to the representation and compensation they deserve. Attorney Moverman has even represented one victim who was awarded $2.6 million after injuring his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding. The firm is currently offering free consultations to parties who have been injured in a construction accident.
