However, there is some current concern that Prince William, should the story be true, may have waited too long for treatment. The top of his scalp is almost completely bald, and at least one hair specialist has said he does not believe a transplant would be successful.

“With these treatments, it’s the sooner, the better,” Robson notes. “Hair transplants can be very effective, but they need to be done at the right time. If they are put off for too long, it can lower the chances of success. Hair loss treatments are usually more effective the sooner they are begun. Delaying like Prince William reportedly has is not a good idea.”

Prince William is said to be losing significant amounts of hair, making his decision very time-sensitive. The Prince is also said to be worried about the reaction from the Royal family, many who have experienced balding and simply let it run its course.

“In the past, people would just let hair loss happen, but they, they don’t have to suffer with it,” Robson concludes. “The treatments currently available can provide a full head of hair. It just depends on taking the right steps and seeking treatment before it’s too late.”
