Tragedy Avoided In E-Cigarette Explosion As E-Cig Explosion Lawsuit Filings Increase

June 07, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com outlines details of an e-cigarette explosion that occurred when a woman from Atlanta’s Grant Park district was charging her device. News reports of e-cigarette explosions and related incidents continue to grow and raise concerns about these devices.

Plugged into the Grant Park woman’s computer in her living room and charging from a USB port, the electronic cigarette exploded without warning. The woman described flames projecting “across my living room,” along with a loud explosion, to a reporter from WSB-TV, based in Atlanta, which ran a story on her experience. She had bought a new e-cigarette to help improve her health and had gotten a very different and scary outcome. It could have been worse since it is not uncommon for people to charge devices unattended. As she noted, her presence in the room — and her presence of mind — were what saved her home, and her dogs and cats, from a likely uncontrolled and disastrous fire while she was away.

A retired firefighter made the news some time ago after experiencing a similar fright. He, too, was charging his e-cigarette from his computer’s USB port and experienced a sudden explosion from the device putting his home at risk for serious damage. When disconnected, the electronic cigarettes can still present a risk as people have reported e-cigarettes suddenly exploding in their pockets, resulting in severe burns to both the users and those in the vicinity of the devices.

Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman is looking to assist victims of e-cigarette explosions to assist them in exploring their legal options. Those who believe they have been harmed by an e-cigarette are greatly encouraged to explore their legal options in the matter, as they may be entitled to significant compensation. To better assist individuals who wish to investigate their rights more fully, Attorney Freund is now offering free legal consultations to qualified parties.

To ask questions or request additional information on e-cigarette explosions, please contact Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman by calling 877-711-9545.

Health Site Explains Why Parents Should Have A Thermometer Like Dr. Madre At Home

June 07, 2016 – – The online portal of the National Institute of Health, MedlinePlus, published information regarding fever among babies and infants. Since fever among babies and infants is worrisome for parents, MedlinePlus emphasizes the importance of being informed. The initial step to properly address a fever is to check body temperature by using a medical infrared thermometer like Dr. Madre’s.

As stated on MedlinePlus, fever is a relevant part of the immune defense against different types of infection. In fact, many older infants develop a high fever with even minor illnesses. Parents should schedule a check up with the doctor when their babies or infants have a fever of more than 100.4 ℉.

Infants can eat food when they have a fever, but they should never be forced to eat. Like adults, sick children only tolerate bland, soft foods. Examples of bland foods include crackers, pasta, and bread. Sick infants should be encouraged to drink plenty of liquids.

In addition, parents should not bundle up a baby or infant with many layers of clothing or blankets, as this could prevent the fever from going down. One layer each of lightweight clothing and a blanket would be enough. The room should also be comfortable, neither too hot or too cold. Most doctors prescribe acetaminophen or ibuprofen to help lower the fever in babies and infants. However, it is important that parents seek medical advice before administering medicine.

To accurately assess a fever, MedlinePlus recommended that parents have their own thermometers, like the Dr. Madre Non-contact Thermometer, at home. Dr. Madre is not just digital, it also uses infrared technology for a more accurate and quick reading. Since it has a non-contact feature, there is no need to press the thermometer against the skin of sick, irritable infants.

MedX Dispensing, Inc. is an authorized seller of Dr. Madre Infrared Thermometer and Dr. Madre Bedwetting Alarm, which are available on http://www.amazon.com/Infrared-Thermometer-Non-Contact-Forehead-Pediatric/dp/B015W3OX2U

Death In Connecticut Scaffolding Accident, Sparks Commentary From Construction Accident Lawyer

June 07, 2016 – – Thomas Moverman of LipsigLawyers.com commented on the exponential increase of fatal injuries for construction workers. Moverman emphasized that “These are hard-working individuals, that work extensive shifts often at unordinary hours, and they deserve to be safe while on the job.” Attorney Moverman sympathizes with the family of the fallen victim and hopes that future regulations will minimize the possibility of other families dealing with this unthinkable burden.

As displayed in a report from Patch.com, a local man from Darien, Connecticut was working on the construction of a single family home and fell from a scaffold. At 12:51 AM on April 11th, police received a 911 call, shortly after EMS and local authorities were on the scene and transported the man to Stamford Hospital. The local man was pronounced dead as a result of a significant head injury sustained in the fall.

According to the Occupational Health & Safety Administration (OSHA), there are nearly 2.3 million construction workers in the United States. Since over 65 percent of those workers work on scaffolding, that accounts for nearly 1.5 million construction workers in the United States. Figures show that on average 60 deaths and over 4,500 injuries occur while working on scaffolding each year. The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) emphasizes that no dollar amount can make up for the loss of a loved one, and urges employer-implemented programs to increase healthy, safe workplaces across the country.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman are currently offering their legal services to all individuals affected by construction accidents. Attorney Thomas Moverman along with other attorneys at the firm are offering complimentary consultations so that each victim is able to understand their complete legal rights. In a similar case, a victim represented by the firm who sustained back injuries, a fractured pelvis and brain trauma from a scaffolding fall was awarded $1,750,000 in compensation for his injuries.

Team Of Medical Experts Recommend Bedwetting Alarm Like Dr. Madre Over Simple Strategies

June 07, 2016 – – Dr. Patrina Caldwell, a pediatrician at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, gathered a research team to study bedwetting. The team conducted a study on the effectiveness of simple bedwetting strategies. HealthDay also covered and published these results on their site with the title, “Simple Strategies Aren’t Always Enough for Bedwetting.” In addition, they compared the results of simple strategies with the results of bedwetting alarms like the Dr. Madre Bedwetting Alarm.

According to Dr. Caldwell, an average of five million American kids suffer from bedwetting. 20% of those children are aged five. She adds that although most children can outgrow this condition, about 2% can still experience bedwetting until adulthood. As a result, bedwetting can be frustrating, stressful, and traumatic.

Dr. Caldwell and her team reviewed sixteen published studies involving 1,600 kids. Half of these children and their parents used simple interventions such as fluid retention before bedtime, rewards for dry nights, and lifting the children to take them to the toilet. Initial results showed that none of these simple strategies worked better than the other, while alarm training worked more effectively than the simple strategies studied.

Bedwetting alarms, like Dr. Madre’s, are recommended by the research team. Although some brands have a bedwetting alarm pad, Dr. Madre is convenient due to its small size. The sensor needs to be clipped onto pajamas or underwear, and the alarm can be worn on the arm like a sports armband. Dr. Madre also has a vibrating function which can work simultaneously with the sound function. This feature is perfect for heavy sleepers, the company says.

Overall, Dr. Caldwell and her team concluded that simple behavioral strategies can sometimes help with bedwetting and they are better than doing nothing at all. “However, there are more effective treatments such as bedwetting alarm training or medications,” she concluded.

MedX Dispensing, Inc. is an authorized seller of Dr. Madre Infrared Thermometer and Dr. Madre Bedwetting Alarm, which is available on http://www.amazon.com/Alarm-Bedwetting-Training-Children-Moisture/dp/B01667E9LG.

Customers Express Their Satisfaction Of Hydrofeet

June 07, 2016 – – More customers are turning to Hydrofeet for foot pain inserts, based on the number of positive comments that the product receives daily. Buyers write reviews on different internet platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and Amazon. Currently, Hydrofeet® has garnered more than 600 Amazon reviews.

One of the recent Amazon reviews was from “mugawup.” According to mugawup, Hydrofeet® are not only simple foot inserts, they are well worth the money. She had a similar pair of insoles filled with air prior to buying Hydrofeet®, and she had them until they eventually broke. It was not her original plan to try out another brand, but she is glad that she did. She noticed that the “water-like” filling redistributes as she walks, shifting the support exactly where she needs it.

Another verified Amazon purchaser believes that Hydrofeet® foot inserts are an “absolute winner.” “Meowgal” wrote that Hydrofeet® exceeded her expectations. She wore these inserts everyday when she travelled to Europe, and she concluded that they work more effectively than her $500 orthopedic inserts. “I am absolutely surprised at how effective they are on my extremely sensitive feet,” she wrote.

Tiffany Jolly, mother of three, posted on Facebook that she is shocked. She had literally just put Hydrofeet® in her shoes. Wearing them was the weirdest feeling in the world according to Tiffany, but it is also incredibly different and she actually felt the sensation coming back to her toes. Tiffany shares, “I don’t know how they work but WOW!”

Hydrofeet® are dynamic shoe insoles. They are made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) filled with pharmaceutical-grade, FDA approved, liquid glycerin. These inserts work by massaging the feet with every step, thereby increasing blood circulation. In addition, Hydrofeet® help bunions, corns, calluses, flat feet, and leg pains.

Midwest Health Solutions is an authorized seller of Hydrofeet® Kids and Hydrofeet® shoes insoles for women and men, which can be purchased on Amazon.

Similarities To Pradaxa Lawsuits Lend Hope To Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiffs

June 07, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on the consolidation of the numerous lawsuits that have been filed against the manufacturers of Xarelto, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Bayer AG, the former of which is a subsidiary of the Johnson and Johnson Corporation. The U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) decreed that since the cases filed were strikingly similar in the allegations of uncontrollable bleeding being leveled at the manufacturers, it consolidated the cases together, which now contains over 2,800 complaints. In the month of August 2015 alone, the cases included in the multidistrict litigation (MDL 2592) have grown by 400 cases, and the MDL is expected to increase further.

Plaintiffs in the Xarelto cases are encouraged by actions taken with another new-generation blood thinner called Pradaxa that shares many similarities with the drug Xarelto. Pradaxa was released on the market for use by consumers in 2010 by Boehringer Ingelheim. As is the case with Xarelto, Pradaxa became the focus of public attention, as it was the subject of over 3,500 adverse event reports with fatalities in over 750 of them. Pradaxa subsequently became the focus of over 4,000 lawsuits. Rather than go to trial, Pradaxa’s maker opted to settle all the lawsuits with a $650 million settlement. It is the hope of many of the plaintiffs in the Xarelto cases that they will also be the beneficiaries of a settlement by the makers of Xarelto.

The MDL cases are steadily progressing toward litigation at this time. Judge Fallon required that by January 11, 2016, 40 cases be selected to form a pool from which 4 final cases will be chosen to be prepared for bellwether trials in Spring of 2017.

It should be noted as well that in addition to the cases in the MDL, there is an additional group of lawsuits in excess of 550 that were consolidated into a mass tort group by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, PA. All plaintiffs in these cases have named Janssen and Bayer AG as defendants as well.

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-997-3792.

E-Cig Explosion Damages Woman’s Home Prompting Potential E-Cigarette Lawsuit Filings

June 07, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com reports on the details of a recent electronic cigarette explosion that occurred in a woman’s home who lives in Grant Park near Atlanta. WSB-TV in Atlanta reported on her case, in which her home was nearly destroyed as the result of the e-cigarette explosion from a new device she had purchased to help change her lifestyle. She told the reporter about the loud explosion that she heard, and described the flames she saw extending across her living room from the device. Luckily, she was home at the time and was able to contain the damage from the explosion and flames, which was still significant.

Plugged into her computer’s USB port, the e-cigarette was quietly charging when the explosion occurred. The computer was located in the living room, and she was nearby. She feared that if she had left the device charging while she was out, as many people do, her home, her dogs, and her cats would all have been lost to the resulting fire. The television station broadcast her emotional account of the event, and her gratitude that the worst case scenario had not occurred.

With 3.5 million devices in users’ hands, according to trade industry estimates, there are many similarly alarming stories that are being reported in the media, concerning explosions that are happening while simply being carried or charged. A retired firefighter also found that his electronic cigarette, charging while attached to his computer, suddenly exploded without warning. Several victims, including the retired firefighter, sustained severe burns which require medical attention after experiencing such a traumatic event.

Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman is looking to assist victims of e-cigarette explosions to assist them in exploring their legal options. He is currently offering complimentary consultations to affected parties and states that some individuals may be entitled to financial compensation.

To ask questions or request additional information on e-cigarette explosions, please contact Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman by calling 877-711-9545.

Settlement Made By Manufacturer Of Pradaxa Leaves Xarelto Lawsuit Plaintiffs Hopeful

June 07, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on striking similarities between Pradaxa and Xarelto that provide encouragement to plaintiffs in numerous Xarelto lawsuits as they await their day in court. Pradaxa was released in 2010 by Boehringer Ingelheim and shortly after its availability on the market it was hit with over 3,500 adverse event reports with over 750 of them being fatalities. The volume of adverse reports filed against Pradaxa quickly made it the subject of over 4,000 lawsuits. On the eve that the trials were to begin being settled, the drug’s manufacturer settled all lawsuits with a $650 million settlement. Many Xarelto plaintiffs are hoping a similar result will ensue for them.

There have been over 2,800 federally-filed complaints against Xarelto. Due to the magnitude of the complaints and similarities of the allegations against the drug’s manufacturers, Bayer AG and Janssen Pharmaceuticals, the latter of which is a subsidiary company of Johnson and Johnson Corporation, the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML) consolidated all cases and will be heard together in a multidistrict litigation (MDL). Since the consolidation and in the month of August 2015 alone, the MDL expanded by 400 more cases and that number is expected to increase even further as Xarelto lawsuits continue to grow in both Louisiana and Pennsylvania.

The MDL is being overseen by the Honorable Judge Eldon Fallon in the Eastern District of Louisiana. The cases encompassed in the MDL are inching toward litigation. He had set a January 11, 2016, deadline for having 40 bellwether cases in a pool from which 4 would be selected for bellwether trials beginning in the spring of 2017.

It should also be noted that the 2,800 cases in the MDL are not the only ones being litigated. There is another group of 550 cases that have been consolidated in the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, PA. The defendants in all these cases are Bayer and Janssen, as well.

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-997-3792.

Fatal I-90 Chicago Tollway Beam Collapse Triggers Response From Construction Accident Lawyer

June 07, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman provided comments on the increased need for safety precautions by urging OSHA to focus on safer working conditions for construction workers to help minimize future fatalities. Moverman also sends his condolences to the family of the fallen construction worker and hopes that with further safety regulations the frequency of these incidents can decrease significantly.

According to a report from The Chicago Tribune, on April 5th, a 45-ton beam fell at a construction site in Des Plaines which left 1 man dead. 3 other workers were injured in the accident and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The crew members were on a job to remove a beam under the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway on Interstate 90. The fallen victim had worked in the construction industry in Chicago for over 20 years and was regarded as a hard worker according to the secretary-treasurer of Laborers Local 225, a local labor union.

In a news release issued shortly after the accident, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) stated that the incident was preventable through adherence to OSHA regulations and precautions. Moreover, OSHA has opened an investigation into Omega Demolition Corporation which was the employer of the victim, as well as Judlau Contracting Inc. which was the general contractor responsible for the site.

As detailed by The Chicago Tribune’s report, in the past ten years OSHA has issued 9 citations to Omega Demolition. Initial reports from the incident concluded that a strap or chain supporting the beam failed, however, OSHA officials along with local authorities are investigating whether there were enough support straps and chains to support such a heavy beam.

While the cause of this incident is still unclear, with further regulations and increased inspections, the frequency of future incidents of this nature should decrease monumentally. Since OSHA inspectors are currently held responsible for the safety and health of over 59,000 workers each, significant reforms must be implemented to adequately to combat this on-going problem.

The law firm Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman is dedicated to presenting each victim or victim’s family with extensive legal advice and service. Attorney Thomas Moverman is offering complimentary legal consultations so that each victim has the opportunity to pursue their complete legal rights. The firm has had significant success in similar cases, for example, another victim who was struck by a falling object was awarded 1.8 million dollars in compensation after sustaining serious back and shoulder injuries.
