San Francisco, California, United States – June 27, 2016 /MarketersMedia/

Rising geriatric population and prevalence of respiratory diseases owing to increasing air pollution and unhealthy dilatory habits are some of the key factors driving the demand for medical gases and equipment. On the other hand, the global scarcity of helium is impeding the growth of the market.

Implementation of favorable regulations by governments worldwide is augmenting the growth of the market. The Food and Drug Administration Safety and Innovation Act (FDASIA) is one of the examples of such regulatory guidelines supporting the market growth. FDASIA enables withdrawal of drug user fees, approval of medical gasses for clinical usage, and also offer favorable intellectual protection right for innovative products.

Oxygen gas dominated the global medical gases market with a share of more than 44% in 2013. Rising number of patients suffering from respiratory diseases has been primarily boosting the growth of the oxygen gas among other segments.
Nitrous oxide accounted for around 25% of global market in 2013. The market share of the segment is expected to shrink during the forecast period since Increasing replacement of the gas by anesthetic drugs is expected to result in slow growth of nitrous oxide over the forecast period.

Medical pure gas dominated the market with a revenue of USD 1.7 billion in 2013. Rising prevalence of various respiratory disorders in geriatric population was the key driving factor for the growth of medical pure gases market. Medical gases mixtures are anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 11.1% from 2014 to 2020. Increasing demand for the product in various medical administrations such as bypass surgery, renal dialysis, sterilization and other particular conditions are some of the factors responsible for the growth of the segment.

Vacuum systems dominated the overall equipment segment market share of more than 30% in 2013. Extensive research and development followed by constant innovation in the products are anticipated to widen its application in the respiratory disease treatment during the forecast period. Medical masks are fastest growing medical equipment and is expected to show CAGR of around 9% from 2014 to 2020. Largest revenue share of the segment was majorly attributed to low production costs coupled with very high usage rates. Manifolds, regulators, and outlet are some of the segments that are also expected to witness significant gains in near future.

North America contributed to more than 40% of the overall revenue share and was worth USD 2.48 billion in 2013. The presence of an advanced healthcare infrastructure, the high adoption rate for advanced technologies and reimbursement coverage are some of the factors resulting in the dominance of the region. Europe was the second largest regional market after North America with a market share of around 19% in 2013.

Asia Pacific is anticipated to be the fastest growing market with CAGR of 9.9% during the forecast period. High air pollution index resulting in a large pool of target population is expected to propel growth in the region over the projected period. Moreover, the booming medical tourism industry is projected to attract global patients to this region. As a result, demand for medical gases and equipment is anticipated to increase significantly in Asia Pacific.

Growing M&A, investment in R&D, and product innovations are some of the strategies implemented by market players to sustain the competition and maintain their market share. For instance, in May 2014, Medical Gas Solution introduced the Medi Quick and Medi-1st kits to its product portfolio.

Major players in the global market include Air Liquide, Linde Gas, Air Products and Chemicals Inc., Matheson Tri-Gas Inc., and Praxair Inc. In 2013, the market was dominated by Air Liquide. Efficient distribution channel coupled with broad product portfolio enabled Linde Gas to capture market share of approximately 18%.

TreeTop Adventures Opening July 2nd at the Irish Cultural Centre in Canton – Greater Boston’s #1 Zip-lining and Climbing Park

TreeTop Adventures Opening at the Irish Cultural Centre on July 2nd Greater Boston’s #1 Zip-line and Climbing Attraction

June 27, 2016 – Kids, teens, adults, families and groups will soon be happily zipping through the trees in a new attraction located at the Irish Cultural Centre in the town of Canton, when TreeTop Adventures opens on July 2, 2016. TreeTop Adventures will be the first aerial forest ropes park in the Greater Boston area and is sure to appeal to outdoor fun-seekers age seven and older as the new “cool place” this summer.

Located at 200 New Boston Drive in Canton, TreeTop Adventures represents a new concept of self-guided ropes park that includes both zip lines-those cables that one rides across from tree to tree-as well as a series of different “challenge bridges” between tree platforms.

The park’s 15 zip lines and over 100 bridges are connected in a series of different “treetop trails.” Customers can choose from ten of these different color-coded trails ranging from beginner to expert so there will be suitable challenges for both beginners as well as more experienced climbers.

Customers, known as “climbers,” wear safety harnesses, doubly secured to cables throughout their time in the trees. The harnesses employ an “always locked on” climbing system of interlocking carabineers (coupling links). Climbers receive a thorough orientation session before going on the trails, which are designed for self-discovery, making lessons otherwise unnecessary. Park Monitors are always available for questions or assistance.

Partnership with the Irish Cultural Centre
TreeTop Adventures zip-lining and climbing park is built on 3 acres of land on the Irish Cultural Centre Campus. To celebrate Irish heritage, each of the 10 trails at TreeTop Adventures is named after historic Irish or Celtic landmarks such as Giant’s Causeway, Ha’Penny Bridge, and the Cliffs of Moher.

Irish Cultural Centre Executive Director John “Mossy” Walker said “this is a fantastic and environmentally sound use of part of our 46-acre campus and we are delighted to be partnering with TreeTop Adventures. They are building a world class aerial ropes challenge course and introducing a fun, safe, and exciting family activity to the Irish Cultural Centre.”

Eco-Friendly, Outdoor Fun for Kids, Teens, Adults, Groups
TreeTop Adventures is an eco-friendly attraction that encourages appreciation of nature and enjoyment of healthy play in the outdoors. Tree-friendly construction techniques are used employing cables and wedges to secure the platforms, rather than bolts or nails, helping the trees to remain healthy. Professional arborists maintain the trees and overall forest property along with TreeTop Adventures staff.

The TreeTop Adventures “Climbing and Zip-lining Park” concept originated in Europe about 20 years ago. Hugely popular, there are now around 2,000 such parks throughout Europe. In the United States, it is still a relatively new concept and there are currently only around 100 nationally. The TreeTop Adventures Canton course was built by industry leader Outdoor Ventures, of Fairfield CT.

Operating Hours
TreeTop Adventures will be open during the summer seven days a week from 9:00 AM to 8:00pm mid week and 10:00pm on weekends. See website for updates and seasonal changes. After Labor Day, TreeTop Adventures will be open weekends and holidays, and mid-week for groups of 12 or more. The Park will be closed during the winter. Stephanie Beck Holds Webinar On Social Media Strategy For Florida Chiropractors

June 27, 2016 – – Stephanie Beck, founder and owner of online marketing firm SRB Solutions, presented a webinar on social media strategy to Florida Chiropractic Association (FCA) members in April 2016. The webinar can be found in the member library of the FCA.org website. The webinar addresses the importance of using social media as part of online marketing techniques.

Stephanie says: “Some chiropractic offices are social media haters and don’t understand why they should bother with it. Some chiropractors don’t even use social media in their personal lives, which means they feel as if people are speaking in a foreign language. They are stuck in the days of relying on word of mouth and face to face conversations. Unfortunately, that is no longer the world we live in, and it is important to move with the times in order to remain relevant.”

Beck herself remembers working without internet at all, using fax blasts, rolodexes, and tickler files. She understands, therefore, that switching to digital marketing can be overwhelming. She also realizes that many may have the notion that social media marketing requires them to devote tons of time to it in order for it to be effective. However, such is not true. Through her webinar and other writings that she has published, she aims to help practices get through the transitional phase. She is able to help them create and implement a social strategy that works, and that does not require hours of investment. “I added some important points to avoid when setting up an account, how to be involved without really having to invest a lot of time, and how what we used to do before the internet can still work when done online,” Stephanie adds.

Chiropractors who have any questions after viewing Stephanie’s webinar are encouraged to contact her. She currently offers a free 15 min conversation in which she can further elucidate on how the strategies work, and how they should be implemented. Additionally, chiropractors are encouraged to refer to any of her writings. As the author of three bestselling books, as well as frequently having columns published in a range of different publications, she is classed as a leading industry expert on social media marketing geared specifically for the health and wellness industry.

Baltimore Welder Fatally Injured By Beam, Induces Response From Construction Accident Lawyer

June 27, 2016 – – Thomas Moverman of LipsigLawyers.com recently commented on a development in Maryland where a local man was killed after being struck by a steel beam on June 18th. Moverman indicates that construction accidents of this nature are tragedies, and consequently he sends his condolences to the victim’s family. Attorney Moverman has placed a strong emphasis on the need for safety reform in the construction industry and notes that without revisions to the current rules and regulations, more accidents of this nature will arise in the coming years.

A local report published by The Baltimore Sun indicated that a welder at a White Marsh construction site was struck by a metal beam at 2:00 p.m. on June 18th. The victim, who was not identified, was working at a construction site on Campbell Blvd., near the 5200 block. A Baltimore County Fire Department spokeswoman claimed that county police, with the assistance of Maryland OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Administration) officials, are currently investigating the unexpected death, and speculate that no foul play was involved. This was the second fatal industrial accident in Baltimore County during the week of 6/12/16.

Federal OSHA has indicated that there were 73 fatal work injuries that came as a result of individuals being struck by objects in 2014. Being struck by objects was the third leading cause of death for construction workers for the calendar year, and accounted for over 8 percent of construction worker fatalities. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) indicated that there were nearly 5,000 fatal injuries across all industries in 2014, and regrettably, construction workers represented nearly 20 percent of the year’s death toll.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman are proud to offer their assistance to all construction accident victims and are currently offering each victim a complimentary legal consultation. The law firm believes that each victim should have access to extensive legal support during their time of need. Thomas Moverman has an impressive record representing previous construction accident victims, and in some cases has helped his clients receive substantial compensations. In fact, one of Moverman’s previous clients was awarded $1,750,000 in compensation after a scaffolding fall resulted in the victim fracturing their pelvis, and sustaining major brain trauma.

For more information on construction injuries, or for a consultation, contact an attorney with Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman at (646)-846-4496.

Xarelto Lawsuit Receives Federal Attention And Growing Public Concern

June 27, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com provides details on the recent developments surrounding the complaints against the drug, Xarelto. Litigation seeking reparation from the drug companies Janssen Pharmaceuticals (a branch of Johnson & Johnson) and Bayer AG has grown to more than 3,000 individual cases. Many of these suits allege similar detriment directly related to taking the drug.

In the interest of expediting the proceedings, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has merged 2,800 of these cases into a single multidistrict litigation (MDL). MDL No. 2592 is being overseen in the Eastern District of Louisiana. Similarly, a mass tort program comprising 550 individual suits was consolidated by the Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Plaintiffs in many of the individual cases allege that manufacturers neglected to properly warn patients and physicians about a possible elevated risk for the occurrence of sudden dangerous bleeding episodes in patients taking the anticoagulant. Therefore, they were placed in harm’s way without due knowledge. It is hoped that such combination of individual cases will allow the courts to hear the evidence and issue rulings on the matter in a timely fashion.

In 2011, the FDA approved the new-generation anticoagulant. The drug was designed to treat individuals who suffered from deep vein thrombosis or pulmonary embolism and patients recuperating from hip or knee surgery by preventing the formation of clots. Following the initial approval, its uses were expanded to treat those with atrial fibrillation, a heart condition that can increase the risk for stroke.

Plaintiffs currently awaiting trial have found some comfort in the fact that their Xarelto complaints very closely mirror previously settled lawsuits filed against blood thinner Pradaxa. Pradaxa cases were settled by the defendant outside of court, and many of the plaintiffs involved in Xarelto lawsuits are hoping for a similar outcome.

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-997-3792.

Bellwether Trial Dates For MDL 2592 Set As Xarelto Lawsuit Filings Are Expected To Increase

June 27, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com provides details on the latest developments in the many lawsuits filed against the makers of Xarelto. With more than 2,000 cases already filed against Janssen Pharmaceuticals (a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) and Bayer AG, the federal Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation elected to consolidate them. This consolidation of cases into MDL No. 2592 will expedite the process of law and ensure a resolution is reached more swiftly. The litigation will be carried out in the Eastern District of Louisiana under the supervision of Judge Eldon Fallon.

However, prior to the main case hearings, four bellwether cases have been selected. These will enable the counsel to observe the reactions of jury panels to presented evidence and testimony. The first and second cases will be presented in the Eastern District of Louisiana on February 6th and March 13th of 2017. The third and fourth cases have been relocated to other districts, and will be heard on April 24th and May 30th of 2017.

Initially following its 2011 FDA approval, Xarelto was hailed as a breakthrough in the treatment of blood clots. However, after several years in the trenches, it receives a somewhat lackluster appraisal from both patients and physicians. In fact, the plaintiffs allege that the new-generation blood thinner placed them at a substantially elevated risk for catastrophic bleeding episodes and that the manufacturers were negligent in their responsibility to apprise both doctors and the public of this risk.

While the litigation moves forward in the Eastern District of Louisiana, the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas has also consolidated Xarelto lawsuits into a mass tort program. Comprising 550 separate suits with allegations of harm leveled against the pharmaceutical companies, the mass tort program claims are similar to those of MDL No. 2592.

The attorneys of Banville Law, the firm behind TheProductLawyers.com, are offering complimentary consultations to anyone who suffered injury or hospitalization after a bleed while on Xarelto. For more information about this release or the Xarelto litigation call 888-997-3792.

IVC Filter Lawsuits Consolidated Into MDL By JPML As Plaintiffs Prepare For Trial

June 27, 2016 – – TheProductLawyers.com reports on recent controversy related to IVC filters manufactured by Cook Medical. A settlement conference is being planned to try to avert the litigation of lawsuits filed against Cook and consolidated into a multidistrict litigation (MDL) by the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPML). The JPML created the MDL in October of 2014 and is being overseen in a federal court in the Southern District of Indiana. The MDL was able to be created because all the lawsuits encompassed in it were filed against the same defendant and contained similar allegations.

Plaintiffs are hopeful that a settlement can be reached so that trials can be avoided, which are tentatively scheduled to begin in early September of 2016. In March of 2016, a settlement conference had been scheduled with a U.S. Magistrate Judge for all parties involved to negotiate a potential settlement. However, the defendants requested additional time to prepare and the March settlement conference was postponed with a subsequent date not yet identified.

The plaintiffs claim the Cook IVC filters are defective and dangerous. The small cage-like filters are designed to capture blood clots from the lower body traveling toward the heart and lungs to prevent a pulmonary embolism. The filters are used in patients many times, that cannot take traditional blood thinners and are recommended by the FDA to be temporary. They are meant to be removed when the threat of embolism is no longer present.

The plaintiffs allege in many of the complaints that the filters moved from their original insertion points and other allege that the devices have fractured, with the pieces migrating to other parts of the body. The pieces have allegedly become lodged into riskier areas thus preventing removal. Not being able to remove the device or the pieces has placed several plaintiffs in life-threatening positions.

For more information on IVC filters, to ask questions or to schedule a consultation, contact an attorney at Banville Law by calling (888) 997-3792.
