Personal Injury Lawyer Offers Condolences After Seattle Worker Is Killed In Accident

July 15, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman recently offered his condolences to the family and friends of a Seattle worker who was killed on the job. Moverman added that instances like these are always devastating and that he hopes the incident will be investigated thoroughly.

NBC news reported that a box truck struck a lift with two workers. The impact sent one worker 15 feet to the exit ramp below, and the other 50 feet to the ground below the bridge deck. Both workers were transported to Harborview Medical Center. One of the workers was pronounced dead at the hospital and the other was listed in serious condition, the report said. Washington State Department of Labor and Industries and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are now investigating the accident.

Injuries resulting from these types of accidents typically include lacerations, bruising, broken or fractured bones, and sometimes spinal or brain injuries. In other cases, these types of accidents can become fatal, such as the case with one of the Seattle workers. The Bureau of Labor Statistics states that more than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry and that one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014 were also in the construction industry.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman has been representing victims of construction accidents for years. They have successfully obtained millions in settlements for those victims and strongly believe in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. In one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding.

“My clients’ lives and families are the most important aspect of what I do. I hope the lawsuits that I bring and the results I obtain will allow them to try to restore themselves both physically and personally,” said Moverman of the firm’s efforts.

The firm is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident. Certain individuals may be entitled to significant financial compensation.

For more information on construction injuries, or for a consultation, contact an attorney with Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman at (646)-846-4496.

Michigan Man Hospitalized In E-Cig Explosion, As Potential E-Cigarette Lawsuit Cases Arise

July 15, 2016 – – Marc Freund of LipsigLawyers.com referenced a recent e-cigarette explosion in Bay City, Michigan, when outlining the potential dangers that e-cigarettes may present to users. Freund wishes the local Michigan man a speedy, complete recovery, and has encouraged the man to seek legal counsel regarding his damages. Attorney Freund explained that as e-cigarette use has become more popular among tobacco users, and the general public, the number of explosions has consequently risen dramatically.

A local news report from Mlive.com outlined the July 2nd explosion, explaining that a local man was having dinner at a nearby restaurant when his e-cigarette unexpectedly exploded in his pocket. The man sustained severe burns to his right leg, and was in extreme pain in the moments following the accident, thankfully witnesses contacted 911. The man was transported to McLaren Bay Region Hospital by ambulance shortly after the incident for treatment, where hospital staff would not comment on the severity of the man’s injuries.

This is certainly not the first e-cigarette explosion to date, and regrettably, will probably not be the last incident of this nature. In fact, according to TheProductLawyers.com, there have already been 83 e-cigarette explosions in 2016 alone, easily surpassing the total number of explosions from 2015 (47), and 2014 (38). This explosion marks the 4th e-cig explosion in Michigan since the products were made available to consumers in 2009, and the 3rd of 4 e-cigarette explosions in July alone, Furthermore, this is the 139th reported e-cig explosion in the United States and is one of 205 reported e-cig explosions to date worldwide.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman is proud to offer their extensive pool of legal services to all e-cigarette explosion victims. Marc Freund and the law firm are currently offering all affected parties a complimentary legal consultation, in an attempt to grant all victims the opportunity to investigate their legal options and potential courses of action.

To request additional information on electronic cigarette explosions, or to ask questions, please contact Attorney Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman by calling 877-711-9545.

UK Woman Narrowly Escapes From E-Cigarette Explosion Fire, As E-Cig Explosion Lawsuit Case Total Rises

July 15, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Marc Freund recently provided commentary on a development in West Sussex County, UK, where a local woman’s e-cigarette exploded while charging, setting her home ablaze. Attorney Freund urges other e-cigarette users to be more careful when charging devices and maintains that in most cases future potential users are unaware of the threat their “harmless” device presents. Freund notes that as the devices have grown in popularity, the number of explosions has risen similarly, leaving a multitude of e-cig users suffering and in pain.

According to a news report from the West Sussex County Times, a local woman luckily avoided serious injuries after her e-cigarette exploded while charging. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 10th, shortly after which, the Arundel woman was woken by her smoke detector. A West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service Commander outlined the accident claiming that “when the charger exploded the hot components scattered across the room and scorched the lady’s soft furnishing.”

The local fire department was able to subdue the flames, limiting the extent of fire damage to the victim’s home. Since the accident, local authorities have issued a warning to the public, stating that individuals should only purchase e-cigarettes from reputable retailers. This warning was sparked by this most recent explosion, due to the exploding e-cigarette in question coming from a local market stall without proper packaging, warnings, or instructions.

This explosion marks the 39th e-cigarette explosion in England, and the 56th reported e-cig related incident in Europe to date as reported by TheProductLawyers.com. Additionally, this marks the 84th e-cigarette explosion in 2016 thus far, and the 5th such incident in July of 2016 alone. A substantial amount of e-cigarette explosion victims have been injured in similar incidents. Typical injuries include burns, cuts, and in rare cases visual impairment, and severed limbs. Moreover, there have been a great deal of e-cig explosions that have resulted in house fires, in fact, most of those cases included far more extensive property damage.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman are currently offering all e-cigarette explosion victims a complimentary legal consultation so that they each victim has the opportunity to adequately evaluate their legal rights. Attorney Marc Freund notes that some victims may be entitled to financial compensation.

Construction Worker Dies After Fall, Prompting Comment From Personal Injury Lawyer

July 15, 2016 – – LipsigLawyers.com’s Thomas Moverman stated recently that the loss of another construction worker’s life has left a community in mourning. He has wished the family and friends of the deceased man comfort in this troubling time.

The Burlington Free Press reported in late June that a construction worker fell more than 70 feet from a structure being built at the University of Vermont and died from his injuries. The worker had fallen from the top floor of the seven-floor structure — about 75 feet above the ground. He had been wearing a harness which was removed before the man was brought to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The most common forms of injury in the construction business include slips, trips, and falls. These types of accidents in addition to electrocution and being stuck between objects or struck by them, accounted for over half of construction worker deaths in 2014, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. The OSHA reported that more than 20 percent of all work-related fatalities in 2013 were employed in the construction industry and that one in five of the 4,821 reported fatalities in 2014 were also in the construction industry.

Lipsig, Shapey, Manus & Moverman have been representing victims of construction accidents for years. The firm is currently looking to assist those individuals who have been injured in a construction accident and qualifying individuals may be entitled to financial compensation. They have successfully obtained millions in settlements for those victims and strongly believe in fighting for the compensation victims need and deserve. In one case, Attorney Thomas Moverman won a victim $2.6 million for a worker who injured his knee and back in a fall from defective scaffolding.

“Most of these actions help to make our environment and the workplace safer so that others will not have to endure these painful losses,” said Moverman of the firm’s work.

SRB Solutions Highlights Facebook Messenger As Powerful Marketing Tool For Healthcare Practitioners

July 15, 2016 – – SRB Solutions, based in San Diego, CA, is highlighting the value of Facebook Messenger as a tool for healthcare practitioners to start conversations with people who could later be converted into new patients. The company is dedicated to assisting chiropractors, massage therapists and other practitioners to get the most out of their digital marketing efforts. The company is now drawing attention to the importance of Messenger as explained at http://newsroom.fb.com/news/2016/06/messenger-makes-it-even-easier-to-start-conversations/. SRB Solutions aims to help practices implement these tools and strategies to get more patients and boost their business.

Stephanie Beck, owner and founder of SRB Solutions, says: “Messenger is a fantastic tool that enables practices to be in touch with their current and prospective patients. People nowadays are more likely to ask questions through social media than to pick up the phone or even send an email. This is particularly true if they only have a general inquiry to make. We have tools and strategies in place for practices to get the most out of Messenger.”

According to Facebook, some 900 million people use Messenger every month. As such, it enables businesses and consumers to communicate with each other. However, not all 900 million people are relevant to each business or clinic. This is why SRB Solutions aims to assist healthcare practitioners in order to ensure they can identify their ideal clients and find out how they can connect with them through Messenger.

Additionally, Facebook has updated Messenger so that it is able to do more than just send and receive messages. They have added a range of emojis, enabled business chats, allowed video calls, and even enabled people to receive news directly to their inbox. This is a particularly interesting set of features that healthcare practices can make use of to interact with current patients and prospective patients.

Stephanie Beck adds: “There is nothing quite like Messenger out there. No other service is able to offer an inbox experience of this kind, and it truly is one of the few apps that allow people to connect in such an easy and simple way. It is a truly powerful tool that all practices should use, in our opinion.”

St. Jude Medical, B. Braun, Medtronic Products Preferred by Physicians According to iData’s Global Survey

July 15, 2016 – Vancouver, BCiData Research, an international medical market research firm, conducted a survey at the recent Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) annual meeting in San Francisco, California. From those surveyed regarding the use of fractional flow reserve (FFR) guidewires, the majority of respondents stated that the availability of devices influenced their decision to use their chosen FFR guidewire product. This was followed by other factors such as price, clinical outcomes and existing relationships among others.

On a global basis, price was the most widely stated reason for not using FFR guidewires. The availability of devices and the use of optical coherence tomography (OCT), computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were reported as competing reasons for not using FFR guidewires in Latin America and the United States.

This global survey captures end-user attitudes and perceptions towards, coronary drug-coated balloons, peripheral drug-coated balloons, transcatheter aortic valve implantation, fractional flow reserve guidewires, stent grafts and ventricular assist devices. Responses from hundreds of interventional cardiologists, interventional radiologists and other related healthcare professionals from the United States and 49 other countries around the world were gathered in-person at the 2015 Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference.

“The main goal of this iData Research survey is to fully reflect respondents’ views, beliefs and experiences and how these have influenced the associated global markets from FFR, OCT and CT devices,” explains Dr. Kamran Zamanian, CEO of iData. “Survey interviews with physicians at TCT represent the single most reliable way to obtain accurate, current data about market conditions, trends, threats and opportunities.”

The aggregated global responses show that the average respondent performed approximately 60 angiography procedures per month. On average, respondents from Asia performed the highest number of angiography procedures on a monthly basis.

St. Jude Medical’s PressureWire™ Certus™ Guidewire was reported as the most widely used FFR guidewire, with over 30% of respondents worldwide reporting that they use the device. Usage of the device varies across geographies. While the PressureWire™ Certus™ Guidewire is popular outside the United States, it ranks behind St. Jude Medical’s PressureWire™ Aeris™ Guidewire and Volcano’s FloWire® Doppler Guide Wire in the United States.

Other questions from the Global Survey on Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular and Cardiac Surgery include:

  • Which coronary/peripheral drug-coated balloon(s) do you/would you use and why?
  • How many Abdominal/ Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (AAA/TAA) stent graft procedures do you perform in an average month?
  • How many transcatheter aortic valve implantations (TAVI) do you currently perform annually?
  • Which company’s AAA/TAVI device(s) do you use and why?
  • How many Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) implantations do you perform annually?
  • Which company’s VAD(s) do you use and why?
  • And more.
  • Some of the findings from the Global Survey on Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular and Cardiac Surgery include:

  • Conclusive findings on the use and popularity of B. Braun’s SeQuent® Please coronary drug-coated balloon (DCB).
  • Insightful findings on Medtronic’s AAA stent grafts and its usage by surgeons worldwide, broken out by region.
  • Disclaimer
This survey was conducted prior to Abbott’s April 2016 announcement of plans to acquire St. Jude Medical. Therefore, products such as the PressureWire™ Certus™ Guidewire and PressureWire™ Aeris™ Guidewire are attributed to St. Jude Medical in these results.
