Farmington, New Mexico-based, San Juan Open Golf Tournament, the 53rd event played on June 19th to 25th, 2017 is one of the most prestigious events in the south-west. The event’s new registration website, just, launched, is now accepting player nominations. With the grand prize being over $10,000 US the event attracts some 160-players – a mixture of amateurs and professionals. Entry fees provide players with food, drink and carts over the 4-days event, and accommodation, when available.

Having donated more than $130,000 to local charities and non-profits, the San Juan Golf Tournament aims to support community endeavors that benefit others. Past professionals who have entered the event, who have then gone on to pursuit PGA Tour careers include Brian Kortan, Dave Powell, Woody Dame, Gene Torres and Martain Laird.

Entry into the San Juan Open Golf Tournament is $500 for amateurs and $850 for professionals. The entry fee covers tournament entry and social events. Further inclusions are breakfast and lunch daily, along with beverages and a golf cart. A ‘thank you’ gift for joining the event is also a first tee surprise for many.

Played on a stunning 18-hole golf course with rolling hills, picturesque scenery and surrounded by beautiful trees, the San Juan Golf Course is one of the best in the area. With challenging sand traps and water hazards to negotiate, the San Juan Country Club, hosts of the event, are sure to delight even the most competitive of golfers.

The San Juan Golfing Tournament began in 1964. Since then, the tournament has seen many winners, while most have claimed individual wins, some such as Andy Boyd, Bob Eakes, Dave Powell and Brian Kortan have taken out first place multiple times.

2013 event winner Jimmy Gunn said, “I personally love how the community and members come together to host such a great event. And on the plus side for players, your entry fee is pretty much your final cost for the event with host housing and food daily for all players.”
