Spruce Ridge Intersects 9.97 Metres of 7.45% Copper at Great Burnt Project South-Central Newfoundland

PUSLINCH, ON / ACCESSWIRE / January 30, 2019 / Spruce Ridge Resources Ltd. (TSX-V: SHL) is pleased to announce that it has received the results of the last five diamond drill holes in a 10-hole program on its wholly-owned Great Burnt Copper-Gold Project in Newfoundland. The drilling was targeted at the Great Burnt Main Zone, with a view to filling gaps between previous drill holes, testing for possible extensions of the Main Zone, testing a newly identified target from a 2007 airborne EM survey, and retrieving samples for future metallurgical study prior to a planned Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA). Results include 9.97 metres of 7.45% copper (Cu), including a 5.03 metre section grading 11.42 % Cu in drill hole GB18-06. The massive to semi-massive sulphide mineralization also carries low values in gold, silver, zinc and cobalt. The following table summarizes the results for all ten holes of the 2018 program. Location of 2018 diamond drilling and historical drilling can be found at the end of this news release.

Much of the previous drilling on the Great Burnt Main Zone was carried out on sections with a regular 61-metre (200 feet) spacing. Like drill holes GB18-03, -04 and -05 (see press release 2018-01 of January 23, 2019), GB18-06 was drilled to test the zone between two sections where there had been no previous infill drilling. GB18-07 and 18-08 were drilled to test possible down-dip extensions of the Lower Zone. GB18-09 and -10 were drilled to test for a possible extension of the low-grade Stringer Zone to the south and down-dip. Both holes cut disseminated to locally stringery mineralization with lower grades than the Stringer Zone average.

“The results of GB18-05 and GB18-06, combined with the other holes drilled into the Great Burnt Main Zone in 2016 and 2018, lead us to suspect that a recalculation of the mineral resource could possibly lead to a significant increase in the copper grade” stated John A. Ryan, CEO of Spruce Ridge.

The road-accessible Great Burnt copper-gold deposit comprises three separate zones of volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) mineralization: The Main, Lower and Stringer Zones. A 2015 NI43-101 technical report by P&E Mining Consultants identified Indicated Mineral Resources in the Main and Lower Zones of 382,000 tonnes with an average grade of 2.68% Cu, plus Inferred Mineral Resources of 663,000 tonnes averaging 2.31% Cu. A “starter pit” outlined by P&E includes an Indicated Mineral Resource of 237,000 tonnes at 2.51% Cu.

The majority of the drilling that outlined the Great Burnt deposit was carried out by Asarco between 1950 and 1971, and core was not assayed for gold. Additional drilling by Celtic Minerals in 2001-2002 did include assaying for gold and zinc. Four holes drilled into the Main Zone by Spruce Ridge in 2016 yielded intercepts including (in hole GB16-09) 5.75 metres of 6.68% Cu, 0.94% Zn, 0.871 g/t Au and 6.20 g/t Ag and (in hole GB16-08) 7.50 metres of 9.45% Cu, 0.73% Zn, 0.364 g/t Au and 8.50 g/t Ag. There is however insufficient information to estimate average grades for metals other than copper.

In addition to the Great Burnt copper-gold deposit, the 3,700-hectare property covers the South Pond “A” Zone, 15 kilometres to the north, with an Indicated Mineral Resource of 47,000 tonnes at 1.38% Cu, plus an Inferred Mineral Resource of 166,000 tonnes of 1.30% Cu. Re-analysis of core in 1987 indicated potentially significant grades of gold in the South Pond “A” zone; again the data are insufficient to include a gold grade in resource estimates. The South Pond “B” Zone has been drill tested over a 1.2 kilometre length, with results including a 28.00 metre core length of 1.16 g/t Au and a 4.33 metre core length of 4.75 g/t Au.

The 2018 diamond drilling program at Great Burnt was carried out under the supervision of Brian Willett, P.Geo. The NQ-size core was quartered with a diamond saw; one quarter was sent for analysis, one quarter was retained as a witness, and half core was placed in vacuum-sealed bags to preserve its freshness for future metallurgical testing. Analyses were performed by Eastern Analytical of Springdale, NL. Gold was determined by fire assay on 30-gram splits; all other elements were analysed by ICP after aqua regia digestion, and overlimit analyses (i.e. over 1% Cu, 0.22% Zn, 0.055% Co and 6 g/t Ag) were repeated using assay procedures. Eastern Analytical is certified to ISO/IEC 17025 with accreditation to the assay methods used.

Obtaining exclusive real estate leads are a recent convenience because exclusive online leads can help top real estate agents list new clients, both luxury home owners and luxury home buyers. The referral fee can be “pay at closing,” thereby requiring little or no up-front cost for the real estate agent. This exclusive practice is now determined as the best favored way to get the top real estate leads so long as the (1) referral fee is “pay at closing,” also called “paid at closing” or “paid after closing,” such as is the case with https://elleneleighreferrals.com/Georgia_Real_Estate_Leads.php, and, the real estate leads are (2) exclusive, not sent to several agents, (3) centered on listing referral leads primarily, or (4) focused on seller listing referrals, but not centered on buyer leads, and (5) promotes the real estate agent name rather than the referring service business to (6) build the brand name of the agent which (7) provides long term growth and notoriety for the agent. The “real estate agent” then becomes the household name rather than the “referring service” becoming the well-known name. These exclusive real estate agent leads are determined to be the best exclusive real estate leads “pay at closing” by top real estate agents.

Any of you that are considering selling your home might be taking into consideration the possibility of doing it yourself, without the help of a local realtor. You may be thinking you can conserve some money by doing it by this means. You possibly will save some cash, yet is it actually worth the risk? Your building will not get the required visibility to the vast selection of possible purchasers that are out there, locally and nationally, to get the highest sales price. What a relief to have somebody who can let you to just focus on your relocation, which is an experience in itself. Keep in mind, a top real estate agent functions to help you and it remains in the local realtor’s highest concern to make the procedure of offering your property as smooth as possible. Top realtors are very aware of all the issues that may arise, something that can make your life a whole lot less complicated. Your local realtor will certainly work hard to make sure your deal does not fall through, due to the fact that if it does the real estate agent will not get paid. Some would instead take the whole job upon themselves simply to conserve a few added dollars. However, it is generally advised to work with a local realtor unless you have all the time in the world and also you don’t care exactly how long it takes to sell your house, as well as you do not care whether your offer falls through or if something goes wrong.

If a homeowner in Sharpsburg Georgia is contemplating the concept of “sell my home fast,” such a person might phone a local realtor professional like Tammi Sullenberger Real Estate Agent Sharpsburg GA, (678) 675-1024. https://best-5-star-real-estate-agents-in-america.com/Tammi-Sullenberger-Real-Estate-Agent-Sharpsburg-GA-Contact.php Why should a property owner take chances when trying to achieve the best price for your property in Sharpsburg Georgia?

Bust or Boom? New FSA Ruling in Place for CBD

LONDON, UK / ACCESSWIRE / January 30, 2019 / CBD Oil is one of the fastest growing wellness supplements has now come under an EFSA (European Food Standard Agency) classification which could mean CBD Oil will no longer be legally sold within the UK.

Healthspan, the UK’s leading health supplement supplier, who was one of the early adopters to launch CBD Oil capsules, says a change to the status of CBD Oil was published Friday (18th January) by EFSA which has raised some question marks over CBD’s continued status as a legal food supplement in the UK.

CBD oil has seen a meteoric rise in sales with the Cannabis Trade Association UK saying the number of users has skyrocketed from 125,000 to 250,000 users.

Dr Sarah Brewer advises.  ”The new classification by EFSA is for regulatory/technicality reasons and not for safety reasons. Given that there is some uncertainty on the future free availability of CBD supplement, I’d recommend that people who find it beneficial for well-being continue as previously by ordering from a trusted supplier and continuing to take their CBD Oil.”

So, what has changed?

The entry on the Novel Foods register changed regarding the classification of CBD Oil. The entry for “Cannabinoids” now states ‘extracts of Cannabis sativa L. and derived products containing cannabinoids are considered novel foods as a history of consumption has not been demonstrated. This applies to both the extracts themselves and any products to which they are added as an ingredient (such as hemp seed oil).” This means that CBD supplements are now deemed to be novel food in Europe. (Search “cannabinoids” here: http://ec.europa.eu/food/safety/novel_food/catalogue/search/public/index.cfm)

What is Novel Food? (https://ec.europa.eu/food/safety/novel_food_en)

Novel Food is defined as food that had not been consumed to a significant degree by humans in the EU before 15 May 1997, when the first regulation on novel food came into force. Examples of Novel Food include new sources of vitamin K (menaquinone) or extracts from existing food (Antarctic Krill oil rich in phospholipids from Euphausia superba), agricultural products from third countries (chia seeds, noni fruit juice), or food derived from new production processes such as UV-treated food (milk, bread, mushrooms and yeast).

The underlying principles underpinning Novel Food in the European Union are that Novel Foods must be:

Safe for consumers
Properly labelled, so as not to mislead consumers
If novel food is intended to replace another food, it must not differ in a way that the consumption of the Novel Food would be nutritionally disadvantageous for the consumer.
Pre-market authorisation of Novel Foods on the basis of an evaluation in line with the above principles is necessary.

Why the change?

As there is no direct safety risk related to CBD Oil, opinion is that this is a political measure taken by the States* and it is an issue of having missed a ‘processing step’ as companies/industry was under the impression (based on earlier EFSA wording) that CBD would not class as a Novel food.

As of today, (29th January) there is no Food Standards Authority (FSA) official ruling but FSA wording implies that products will need to be withdraw from market very soon which means there will be no derogation period allowing the industry to apply for the Novel Food Approvals.

In the meantime, companies such as Healthspan and the industry of CBD growers, processors and sellers are gathering the data to do the Novel Food submission however this process can take time.

Rollo de Sausmarez, Healthspan’s Director of New Product Marketing & Development says, “Next steps are getting CBD an Approved Novel Food Status. Many things have been deemed safe by passing a safety assessment under the Novel Food Regulation – e.g. Chia seeds, Krill Oil, Vitamin K. This process takes about a year, and CBD manufacturers and brands will be pursuing this approach. All over Europe the local food safety authorities will be considering their approach, in each member state and in time will publish their stance.

“Healthspan will continue to work with relevant bodies such as EFSA, FSA and the CTA (Cannabis Trade Association).”

In terms of how long this will take the FSA yesterday stated that they will begin working with local authorities to identify and begin to remove products that do not comply with the Novel Food Regulations (EU) 2015/2283. This may take a period of time and as yet there have been no formal instructions from the EFSA and the FSA.

Various trade organizations including the UK based Cannabis Trades Association (CTA), British Hemp Association (BHA), European Industrial Hemp Association (EIHA) as well as individual businesses will be talking to EFSA and the FSA about these new regulations.

What next?

Suppliers will be working to get CBD an Approved Novel Food Status. Many things have been deemed safe by passing a safety assessment under the Novel Food Regulation – e.g. Chia seeds, Krill Oil, Vitamin K. This process takes about a year, and CBD manufacturers and brands will be pursuing this approach.

Can I still buy CBD in the UK?

The short answer is ‘yes for now’ but with the new FSA ruling it is recommended people do consider stocking up.

Dr Sarah Brewer summarises, “With all the change taking place there is still a great deal of misunderstanding and misleading information about CBD Oil on the market. Making sure you buy CBD Oil from a reputable supplier who is a member of the Cannabis Trade Association is important also looking out for products advertising whole plant extract percentage of CBD, as opposed to the level of CBD in mgs in the product.”

Also, in June 2018, The World Health Organization carried out a review of CBD and findings

Stated that “CBD is generally well tolerated with a good safety profile. Reported adverse effects may be as a result of drug-drug interactions between CBD and patients’ existing medications.”

The WHO report did state that there is ‘unsanctioned medical use of CBD based products’, but the report did underline that CBD is well tolerated and has a good safety profile. “Across a number of controlled and open label trials CBD of the potential therapeutic effects of CBD it is generally well tolerated, with a good safety profile.”

-Spokesperson Dr Sarah Brewer available via email only.

– *Each and every country has a legal right to have changes made to the Novel Food Register if they can get a majority to agree. The five initial petitioners were Germany, Italy, France, UK and The Netherlands. They managed to gain support from 17-member states.

AMS ‘Micro-Piloting’ Heavy Metal Remediation Reduces Cost/Pilot Deployment Time

Cr(VI) Hg & Se remediation by AMS’ “Micro-Piloting” SafeGuard™ H2O uses a fraction of flow volume resulting in a small footprint pilot reducing time to market & rapid access to benefits of SafeGuard technology.

Sunnyvale, United States – January 30, 2019 /PressCable/

Aqua Metrology Systems (AMS), a leader in the prediction, control and treatment of trace metals, introduces a “Micro-Piloting” program for its novel intelligent SafeGuardTM H2O trace metal remediation system. The fully automated system generates a stannous ion reagent in-situ via an electrolytic process to treat trace metal contaminants in real-time; SafeGuard also features online trace metals analyzers to measure trace metal contamination levels and system performance in real-time. Municipal water systems or industrial facilities looking for new treatment options to remove hexavalent chromium, ionic mercury, and selenium contamination can use the Micro-Piloting program to deploy and assess demonstrations of the SafeGuardTM H2O technology far more quickly and for a cost that is a fraction of traditional technology demonstration pilots.

“There is a significant financial burden tied to the design, permitting and installation of demonstration pilot systems that has to be paid by someone— the client, the treatment system vendor or taxpayer through grants. These costs, which can run into hundreds of thousands of dollars, drain financial and environmental resources and are a barrier to innovation that the water treatment sector so badly needs,” said Rick Bacon, CEO of AMS. “Understandably, clients, regulators and engineers expect to see a technology demonstrated before it can be deployed. The time and costs to deploy such pilot systems is one of the reasons why the industry is so slow to adopt new innovations and is one of the reasons why start-up companies die before their innovations gain acceptance. However, the significant advantages of SafeGuardTM H2O system, in terms of lifetime costs, footprint and ease of deployment compared with traditional treatment systems, demonstrate how innovation can reduce the costs of drinking and wastewater treatment, and thereby widen access to safe drinking water and support tighter regulatory standards for these contaminants of concern. And now with our Micro-Piloting program, we’ve reduced the time to market, providing clients more rapid access to the benefits of the SafeGuard technology.”

According to Bacon, the AMS Micro-Piloting program has taken the principles of “Lean Startup” and applied them to reducing time to market for its technology innovations. Because the SafeGuardTM H2O can be fully controlled, monitored and optimized remotely, the presence of personnel on site for supervision is not required. A SafeGuardTM H2O pilot demonstrates, at scale, using a fraction of the eventual volume/flow to be treated. This results in a pilot with a small footprint that can be set up and operational in hours rather than days. An AMS on-site pilot will use 100 liters per day compared to other technologies that use 1,000s liters per day. SafeGuardTM H2O ensures that a larger proportion of public funding for water quality improvement is available for final projects instead of being absorbed by expensive demonstration pilots.

In a significant further step in Micro-Piloting, AMS has demonstrated that its intelligent SafeGuardTM H2O system can be deployed as a scaled version at AMS’s Research and Development facilities and set up to run over an extended period of time using minimal volumes of contaminated water samples shipped from the client, demonstrating its effectiveness in treating that water. This step further reduces the cost burden of demonstration pilots by eliminating both the permitting and infrastructure investments required for the pilot as well as the disruption to the client’s operations.

The first SafeGuardTM H2O Micro-Pilot is being undertaken at California’s Hidden Valley Lake Community Services District, live results of the system’s performance are available here.

Patient Six Cancer-Free at Nine Months After Single Anti-Cancer Treatment

TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / January 30, 2019 / Theralase Technologies Inc. (“Theralase®” or the “Company”) (TSXV: TLT) (OTCQB: TLTFF), a clinical stage pharmaceutical company dedicated to the research and development of light activated Photo Dynamic Compounds (“PDCs”) and their associated drug formulations intended to safely and effectively destroy various cancers reports that patient six, enrolled and treated in the recently completed Phase Ib Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer (“NMIBC”) clinical study (“Study”), has demonstrated no tumour recurrence or presence of disease at the 270 day clinical and cystoscopy assessment.

The Study’s purpose was to evaluate TLD-1433, Theralase’s lead PDC, for the primary endpoint of safety and tolerability, secondary endpoint of pharmacokinetics (movement and exit of drug within tissue) and exploratory endpoint of efficacy, primarily at 90 days and secondarily at 180 days post treatment.

The Study was successfully completed with patient five and six demonstrating achievement of the primary, secondary and exploratory endpoints.

Patient five and six have demonstrated no tumour recurrence or presence of disease at the 90, 180 and now 270 days post treatment clinical and cystoscopy assessment, marking a new achievement for the Company.

Patient five and six were enrolled and treated in the Study at the Therapeutic Dose (0.70 mg/cm2). Theralase’s Anti-Cancer Treatment involved the intravesical instillation of a water-based solution of Theralase’s lead anti-cancer PDC, TLD-1433, via a catheter inserted through the urethra into the bladder of the patient, to allow the PDC to be preferentially absorbed by NMIBC tumours. The bladder was then drained of the solution, flushed with sterile water to remove non-absorbed solution and refilled with sterile water via a cystoscope. A fibre optic assembly, comprising a Laser Emitter used to emit laser light and a proprietary Dosimetry System used to detect laser light, were then used to activate TLD-1433 resident in the NMIBC tumours.

Arkady Mandel, M.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., Interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of Theralase stated, “This new data from patient six mirrors the 270 days Complete Response (“CR”) efficacy data observed in patient five at the same time interval. This evidence further bolsters our understanding that even a single treatment of Theralase’s Photo Dynamic Therapy (“PDT”) is able to lead to CR at 270 days post treatment for patients presenting with Bacillus Calmete Guérin (“BCG”)-Unresponsive NMIBC. This illustrates the enormous opportunity that awaits Theralase in the treatment of NMIBC. For NMIBC, a CR post treatment has recently been defined by the FDA as the definitive endpoint for a single-arm intravesical study for patients who present with BCG-Unresponsive Carcinoma In-Situ (“CIS”) disease, with or without resected papillary tumours. In the Health Canada approved Phase II NMIBC clinical study, the Company is providing two treatment procedures (therapeutic procedure at Day 0 and maintenance procedure at Day 180). The latest data on patient five and six is extremely encouraging, demonstrating that CR at 270 days post-treatment is achievable in the elimination of NMIBC after only one PDT treatment procedure. If the efficacy results are able to be demonstrated at 12 months post-treatment, in a larger patient population, conducted in a well-designed Phase II NMIBC clinical study, then the Theralase Anti-Cancer Technology has the potential to be the next gold standard in the treatment of NMIBC. The Theralase Anti-Cancer Technology is also multi-faceted, in that the technology is able to be adapted to the treatment of additional cancer indications, if successfully validated in independent clinical studies. Pending successful commencement of the Phase II NMIBC clinical study, the Company plans to investigate the commencement of an additional Phase Ib clinical study for a new cancer indication.”

The Phase II NMIBC Clinical Study, entitled, “A Phase II Clinical Study of Intravesical Photo Dynamic Therapy in Patients with BCG-Unresponsive Non-Muscle Invasive Bladder Cancer or Patients Who are Intolerant to BCG Therapy” will utilize the Therapeutic Dose (0.70 mg/cm2) of TLD-1433 and will focus on the enrollment and treatment of approximately 100 BCG-Unresponsive NMIBC patients in approximately 20 clinical sites located in Canada, the US and internationally, with a primary endpoint of efficacy and a secondary endpoint of safety.

The endpoints of the Phase II NMIBC Clinical Study will be:

Primary (Efficacy) – Evaluated by CR in patients with CIS with or without resected papillary disease at 90 days post-treatment with duration of CR evaluated at 360 days post-treatment.

Patient CR is defined as at least one of the following:

1) Negative cystoscopy and negative (including atypical) urine cytology
2) Positive cystoscopy with biopsy-proven benign or low-grade NMIBC
3) Negative cystoscopy with malignant urine cytology, if cancer is found in the upper tract or prostatic urethra and random bladder biopsies are negative

Secondary (Safety) – Evaluated by the incidence and severity of Adverse Events (“AEs”) Grade 4 or higher that do not resolve within 360 days post-treatment; whereby:

Grade 1 = Mild, Grade 2 = Moderate, Grade 3 = Severe, Grade 4 = Life-threatening or disabling and Grade 5 = Death

Proposed Phase II Clinical Study Treatment Plan:
