LEARN academy is taking their classes remote and modeling them after how remote web development teams function in response to COVID-19.

LEARN academy, a coding bootcamp in San Diego, California, is adapting to the recent threat of COVID-19 by providing all of its services remotely starting immediately. This includes the entire three-month web developer curriculum, the one-month guaranteed internship program, and in-house career services. This adjustment will provide students with an experience that mimics how remote development teams operate. 

In order to assist with a smooth transition into a virtual classroom, individuals interested in their April 27th, 2020 cohort will be provided a laptop for the duration of the course. This laptop will break the barrier of getting students the proper equipment needed to take the course remotely. Applications to this course are still open on the company’s website.

Adjusting to this new situation, LEARN academy is providing students the entire on-site web development program remotely. Students will also work together in virtual pair-programming and with instructors via Slack and Zoom meeting rooms. While some internships at LEARN academy have already been remote, all of them moving forward will be switching to remote for the time being. Recent graduates and alumni will also work with the in-house Career Services Manager remotely so they can continue to advance in their tech careers.
