The loan forgiveness portion of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) as part of the CARES act has been extended from 8 weeks to 24 weeks.

When asked what benefits this provides, Garcia said, “This change allows small businesses more time to use these funds from the federal government. They also have greater freedom in how to use the funds. Before the recent changes, the program specified that the minimum amount of funds that had to be allocated to full-time employees had to be 75% – this has now been reduced to 60%.”

One of the main aims of the PPP is to ensure that small businesses will retain or rehire their core workforce to curb unemployment.

“Because it’s been difficult for many small businesses to rehire their staff, the deadline to do so has been extended from June 30 to December 31, 2020. It’s important to note that small businesses can still get their PPP loans forgiven even if they are unable to rehire their staff by this date,” he said.

Garcia was quick to add that full forgiveness is possible if the business could not re-employ someone who was an employee of the eligible recipient on or before February 15 of this year.

“Furthermore, you can also get full loan forgiveness if your business can show its inability to hire someone who was similarly qualified by or before the deadline or if you can show that your business was simply unable to return to the same level of activity that you had experienced before February 15, 2020,” he added.

When it comes to loans that can’t be forgiven, according to Garcia, they must be paid back within 5 years, not 2.

His journey west to California from his small Iowa hometown saw Douglas Dohrman develop a keen interest in wine, he says. "After settling in California, I developed a love of wine and spent much time traveling to the wine country and learning all I could," explains Dohrman.

Despite his time spent living in and traveling across much of California, Douglas Dohrman has always been very close to his family, he says, and enjoys cooking and hosting dinner parties for family and friends alike. "I still maintain a love of travel, however," Dohrman adds, "and hugely enjoy visiting new places with my wife and our three children."

A devoted husband and father, the birth of his daughter with Down Syndrome changed Douglas Dohrman and his family's life forever. "Of all of my achievements in life, I'm the most proud of my family," adds the Iowa native, "and what we've accomplished together."

Douglas Dohrman and his wife met while lab partners in a biology class, and have now been happily married for over 30 years. "Besides the birth of my children, some of my fondest memories have been of the time that my wife and I lived in San Francisco," reveals the successful editor and wine aficionado. "We did a lot of traveling, going out to symphonies and ballets, dining out, and hiking and cycling through beautiful areas such as Yosemite and around Lake Tahoe," adds Dohrman.

Both keen travelers, the young pair made numerous trips to Hawaii, plus regular weekend visits to San Diego, Seattle, British Columbia, Mexico, and elsewhere, enjoying everything from snow skiing to beautiful beaches. "I've also spent a lot of vacation time in Colorado," Douglas further points out, "where my family has a cabin that my grandparents purchased the same year I was born."

Asked to pick a highlight from life so far, Douglas Dohrman is quick to respond. "One of the best nights of my life was when my daughter with Down Syndrome was named Homecoming Queen at her high school," reveals the proud father of three. "I heard so many stories from teachers and parents about how much she was loved, how sweet she was to everyone, and what an inspiration she was to all," adds Douglas Dohrman in closing, "that I couldn't possibly be more proud of her."

Golden Birch Resources Inc. Announces Closing of the Final Tranche of Private Placement for Total Gross Proceeds of $1.7m

TIMMINS, ON / ACCESSWIRE / August 27, 2020 / Golden Birch Resources Inc. (CSE:GBRX) ("Golden Birch" or the "Company") announces that, in connection with its previously announced private placement (the "Offering"), the Company has completed the third and final tranche ("Final Tranche") of the Offering, for aggregate gross proceeds $1,724,501.85. The Offering was composed of the sale of units ("Units") of the Company at a price of C$0.15 per Unit. Each Unit consisted of one common share in the capital of the Company ("Share") and one Share purchase warrant ("Warrant"). Each whole Warrant shall entitle the holder to purchase one additional Share at an exercise price of C$0.20 per Share, for a period of five (5) years from the date of issuance.

The Final Tranche consisted of the sale of 303,335 Units for aggregate gross proceeds of C$45,500.25. The first tranche consisted of the sale of 7,500,000 Units for aggregate gross proceeds of C$1,125,000 and the second tranche consisted of the sale of 3,693,334 Units for aggregate gross proceeds of C$554,001.50.

All securities issued and issuable pursuant to the Offering will be subject to a hold period of four months and one day from the date of issuance. Completion of the Offering is subject to the receipt of all regulatory approvals, including the approval of the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE).

Golden Birch intends to use the proceeds from the Offering to commence its maiden drilling program at the Omu prospect, one of four high priority prospects at the Keveri project. Use of Proceeds

The Company intends to use the proceeds from the Offering for exploration on the Keveri project, specifically, the drill testing of key targets at the flagship Omu prospect. It is also the Company's intention to re-commence some exploration work at the nearby Waki and Urua-Everi prospects. Management believes that all of its key prospects, especially Omu, Waki, Urua-Everi and Daru-Araboro have certain characteristics of tier-1 copper-gold porphyry deposits. Funds will also be used for working capital, corporate overhead and general administrative purposes.
