Companies are also likely to face lawsuits initiated by employees who claim to have been infected in the workplace. While workers’ compensation statutes generally prohibit members of staff from seeking redress for contracting a disease at work, some states allow exceptions if the employer can be proven to have willfully or fraudulently concealed such a risk. Aside from these two litigation possibilities, businesses may also have to deal with claims filed by employees’ next of kin, with family members asserting that one or more of them became infected because the virus entered the household through the company worker.

Although multiple lawsuits have already been filed in relation to virus exposure and infection, this is novel territory for civil courts, not to mention that personal injury claims arising from infectious diseases present a number of issues from an evidentiary standpoint, Joseph Cavallo notes. Moreover, governments are taking steps to limit liability, particularly in sectors deemed to provide essential services. Nevertheless, companies should be prepared for possible lawsuits filed by employees, their next of kin, or customers and seek to minimize the risk of litigation by following strictly the guidelines and directive issued by federal, state, and local authorities. Additional protective steps include prominently displayed signs in business premises urging people to follow social distancing rules, wear face masks, and observe hygiene standards, as well as the inclusion of disclaimer, acknowledgment of risk, indemnification, and limitation of liability provisions in service contracts.

Green Wednesday has been hot for the past two years, with sales of more than $1.5 million in the first few hours. Not only do the holidays bring more spending but this year stress has skyrocketed, which leads to more consumption among regular users, reports found.

If ever there was a season when you could stock up on THC, it was 2020, stated the Marijuana Policy Project.

People rely more than ever on cannabis this year but the numbers don’t lie. “In 2020 there was a crazy increase in cannabis use, which correlated with the pandemic. This spring, regulators said legal cannabis sales were crucial nationwide”, according to the Santa Maria.

Less spending outside the house means more money for cannabis, travel, clothing, and food budgets diverted from quarantine to tasty herb streaming services.

The size of the weed sales had increased by 50 percent by October 2019. Leaflink, a California-based company with more than 1,000 employees, says it will increase by 100% in 2019, but the stock is rising less sharply than a year ago, according to the company’s website.

Cannabis is normalizing and – stigmatizing, experts say – medical and adult-use initiatives are being implemented across the country. Spending on weeds rose 34 percent in October, and people are bracing themselves for the increasingly severe winter closure date of COVID.

Those shopping online can brace themselves for the annual rush on Wednesday, as the store runs all week, but take the delivery into account.
