AntsBees offers RM4 million in bid to elevate tech start-ups

Currently positioned at a valuation of RM80 million, AntsBees has four subsidiaries — Prestine International, a learning and development arm of its parent company focusing on AI and Manufacturing Science skilled courses, Votratec, a technical and vocational education and training (TVET) college, PERPETUUTI and MYCoachingHub which is a sports analytics centre.

As part of its future plans, AntsBees is gearing towards being listed on the Ace Market Singapore Stock Exchange and the firm aims to use IPO proceeds to cover working capital, expansion ambitions and development needs.

“Our plastic bag charge has ended the sale of billions of single-use bags,” said environment minister Steve Double when discussing the scheme’s success, “protecting our landscapes and ensuring millions of pounds are redistributed to worthy causes.” 

The plastic bag charge is not a tax and retailers do not need to send the money to the government. Instead, they can put it towards good causes. Since the opening of the scheme, retailers have donated more than £200 million to charitable efforts across the country, improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of people. 

Moreover, the impact on small businesses has not been as severe as many imagined. Local retail outlets are seeking alternatives that avoid the charge and allow their customers to keep shopping conveniently. 

Speaking on the matter, Mr. Shah was excited about the future. “Switching from plastic to paper bags is an opportunity for small businesses to protect their customers from the 5p charge while using materials with less impact on the environment.” 

Furthermore, small businesses can continue to use plastic bags in some settings. Rules permit retailers to distribute free plastic sealed transit bags for alcohol and tobacco, and when certain foodstuffs, such as meat, might pose a safety risk.

For all other purposes, the Carrier Bag Shop says sustainable alternatives are now viable. Retail could be seeing a return to the mid-twentieth century when most bags came from renewable sources.

Boitumelo Maswanganye, a Scientology Volunteer Minister from Soshanguve details in a recent short documentary on YouTube on how the Scientology Tools for Life have empowered her to create a movement of assisting failing students with Learner Support Tools that has improved their school results. She describes how she has been using the Scientology Tools for Life to empower the kids she works with and aims to empower many more.

Despite the hardships and challenges that come with living in a township, Boitumelo found her passion for helping kids and pursued her desire to help learners with learning difficulties. “When kids drop out of school, they start getting involved in detrimental habits like taking drugs and stealing. They see no hope in education anymore,” said Boitumelo. “Kids need help from us as a community. They need to be able to understand what they are reading and what it means and how they can apply it. If not then what will their lives be like? We need to show them that we are here to support them and that if they feel like quitting, the Learner Support program is here for them and that they have a future. That is what Learner Support is, it’s that extra step beyond content delivery that you take to ensure the child’s wellbeing is taken care of”, she added.

Not only did she decide to help, she further established her own NPO called Arise and Shine in order to create an after school care platform where learners with learning difficulties can come and receive learner support. “At first it was tough. But now the kids are very excited. They always ask me when the next session is and their results have improved significantly, the program works,” continued Boitumelo.

According to her, understanding that kids are also human and are complex with their own personalities has also assisted her in understanding them properly. She gets them involved so that they can also experience that their ideas count and they are capable of solving problems. “The Tools for Life have helped me a lot because they provided me with the right tools for every situation. I know exactly how to help and encourage them now,” added Boitumelo. 

“This Learner Support program has helped me a lot as a learner, I have improved a lot academically. I have seen it help others too. Without it, I would be nowhere right now,“ said one of the learners assisted by Arise and Shine. 

“Thank you very much to the Scientology Volunteer Minister who has supported me a lot in starting this program. I have been able to create positive change and intend on doing more for my community. It makes me feel good and makes my life worthwhile,” concluded Boitumelo. 

The “Tools for life” skills development program is delivered for free by the Scientology Volunteer Ministers as a way to empower communities and is applicable to all members of society. They host a variety of free seminars for communities and have trained thousands and thousands from their headquarters in Castle Kyalami on this effective program written by humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard.

Citizens Unite To Reduce Crime In Gqeberha Using The Way To Happiness Moral Regeneration Programme

With an alarming 3,711 reported cases of criminal activities committed within the minute city of Bethelsdorp alone, angry community members in Gqeberha, in collaboration with the Church of Scientology of Port Elizabeth, have decisively banded together to tackle the situation with both hands.

Gqeberha, Eastern Cape, South Africa – August 17, 2023

With an alarming 3,711 reported cases of criminal activities committed within the minute city of Bethelsdorp alone, angry community members in Gqeberha, in collaboration with the Church of Scientology of Eastern Cape, have decisively banded together to tackle the situation with both hands. Since the month of June onwards, they have been holding workshops and distributing booklets of The Way to Happiness – a moral regeneration programme designed to create a calm and peaceful environment – to effectively address the situation of criminal conduct and immorality in their area. This includes offenses such as murder, gang violence, rape and drug-related crime. 

The Way to Happiness is a programme whose mission is to reverse the moral decay of society by restoring trust and honesty the world over, through the publication and widespread distribution of The Way to Happiness book, a common sense guide to better living.

“The Way to Happiness was written by our founder L. Ron Hubbard and originally published in 1981”, said Asthra Maximov, Director of Social Reform for Africa. “With its 21 precepts, its purpose is to help arrest the current moral decline in society and restore integrity and trust to humankind”, Maximov added.   

In view of the devastating effects of crime in the area, local community and members of non-profit organizations in Gqeberha, participated in educational The Way to Happiness workshops hosted by the Church of Scientology of Port Elizabeth, where they received hands-on knowledge and learned how they can play key roles in their areas using the programme. Then they went in the streets and distributed booklets to put some sanity in the area. 

“Local areas within Nelson Mandela Bay such as Bethelsdorp, has an extravagant number of cases with drug abuse, murder, child abuse such as rape, and human trafficking”, said Aline Jones Public Executive Secretary for the Church of Scientology of Port Elizabeth. “As this area has about 52 schools with roughly 1,000 + kids in each, the future of these children is very concerning to me and community leaders at large”, Jones added. “We need to act now. This is why we need to make The Way to Happiness an ever-expanding programme in the community.”

“I attended The Way to Happiness workshop at the Church of Scientology and it was amazing! I learned a lot of things about how to conduct myself and how I can affect change in my environment” said L. Lobese, volunteer of the Zwide Citizen FC NPO. “I really like how I can help the kids that we work with in our organization, to take a right decision about drugs and alcohol and all the other negative things in life, as well as help these kids become better people who contribute to the society. Now that I’ve attended this workshop, I can use the knowledge to teach the kids to be productive and to be leaders with a bright future, by having them apply the virtues of “The Way to Happiness”, Lobese further added. 

“As a psychologist graduate intern at the Bethelsdorp SAPS Police Station, from The Way to Happiness workshop I attended at the Church of Scientology, I realised that I am entering the world of work with a book of knowledge”, said Ms. L. Giweje an intern at the Bethelsdorp South African Police Station. “I now need to apply this knowledge. The Way to Happiness is a reminder that for me to be of service to the community and help people with social issues, I need to be emotionally intelligent enough to be in a position to assist the most vulnerable members of our society.” Giweje added. “With The Way to Happiness, I hope to make a positive change and I really want people to flourish and prosper!”

“I am truly in awe with The Way to Happiness”, said Pastor E. Assam, who attended a recent The Way to Happiness booklet distribution in the Bethelsdorp community. “I am very interested in becoming more involved in this programme to take action. I will be attending The Way to Happiness seminars with the Church of Scientology so I can be further indoctrinated with this movement in eradicating crime in my community”, Assam added.
