Douglasville, GA Author Publishes Novel

When Love Knocks, a new book by Brandon Domineck, has been released by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc.

When Love Knocks is author Brandon Domineck’s way of expressing himself and feeling free, a way of showing that he does not worry about what people think of him.

Growing up with cerebral palsy was challenging for Brandon, and with his speech impediment he found it difficult to express himself and writing gave him a voice. This book introduces us to Carter, a boy with a similar disability, and his childhood best friend, Summer, who loves and accepts him for the person he is inside.

About the Author
Brandon Domineck was born in Atlanta, Georgia, two months earlier than expected, which caused a disability called cerebral palsy. When he was about six months old, doctors told his mother that he would not be able to walk or talk, that he would be virtually a vegetable, but his mother refused to believe that and encouraged him to push himself to do more. She treated him the same way that she treated his older brother and sister, as if he did not have a disability. The family did not have a lot of money or material things, but they had a lot of love.

Brandon was often bullied because of his disability, which made school hard for him, and he would lash back at the bullies, which resulted in him getting into trouble. But he found inspiration and hope in music, especially Michael Jackson, who taught him it’s okay to be different.

When Love Knocks is a 46-page paperback with a retail price of $10.00. The ISBN is 978-1-4809-4240-0. It was published by Dorrance Publishing Co., Inc of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Surwon Technology – To Sign Consumer Filtration Products Deal

Hong Kong-based advanced materials innovator, Surwon Technology says a version of a new super-thin membrane coating it has tested in heavy-duty desalination applications could soon feature in a slew of new water filtration products specially-developed for the consumer market.

The ultra-thin, graphene-based coating has continued to perform well in ongoing controlled tests at various desalination plants on the Chinese mainland and the company says it is convinced the technology can make a substantial contribution to reducing the cost of thermal and reverse osmosis systems.

The consumer product derivative is said to improve the filtration capabilities of standard water filters by an order of 8 and extend their useful life by a magnitude of 20. If the planned deal goes ahead, it will be the first deployment of Surwon Technology’s graphene innovations in the retail market.

“This was a side project undertaken by some of our more adventurous development team,” said Surwon Technology’s head of marketing. “They posited that if the derivative technology could gain traction in the consumer space, it would potentially pave the way to a quicker uptake of the desalination variant once our controlled tests are concluded sometime next year.”

Surwon Technology says it is not at liberty to divulge the identity of the consumer group with which it is in partnership talks; it would only say that the company is based in Europe and is willing to commit what it calls “considerable sums” to the cost of producing the derivative membrane in sufficient quantities to meet its initial production estimates.
