North America Winery Count Is Now 9,872

San Rafael, CA, USA, 01/27/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

North American wineries grew in number to 9,872 as 2017 began, an increase of 5% from a year ago, according to data compiled for the new 2017 Directory & Buyer’s Guide from Wines & Vines magazine. U.S. wineries totaled 9,091; the Canadian total was 692, and the Mexico count was 89.

California remained dominant among the 50 states with 4,202 wineries, or 46% of U.S. wineries, followed by Washington with 747 wineries and Oregon a close third with 713. British Columbia led Canadian provinces with 309 wineries followed by Ontario with 236.

The growth rate of wineries during 2016 was a fraction of a percent slower than the previous year but matched the 5% growth in revenue for consumer purchases of U.S. produced or bottled wines that continued to outpace the U.S. economy.

Wines & Vines counts both bonded wineries that have brick-and-mortar facilities of their own and virtual wineries that use others’ premises to produce their brands. The data is collected through proprietary research aided by communication with wineries every year.

Wines Vines Analytics, the magazine’s market-research team, segments U.S. wineries by their size. The number of large wineries (producing more than 500,000 cases annually) remained steady at 65. This concentrated segment of large wineries produces more than 81% of domestic wine. The medium category increased slightly to 261 wineries, producing about 10% of domestic wine. Ninety-four percent of U.S. wineries are small or very limited production, producing fewer than 50,000 cases a year each.

California gained the most net wineries (148) after subtracting the number of those that went out of business from the number that opened.

Texas gained the second-highest number of net wineries and had by far the largest percentage gain in winery count, increasing by 59 wineries, or 26%. It was the only major winery state to grow by double digits. This bumped Texas up to No. 5 among the top 10 states, moving Virginia down to No. 6. Texas now has 287 bonded and virtual wineries.

Ohio had the second-highest growth rate in the top 10 and added 13 wineries for a total of 194. Every state in the union has working wineries, though Alaska, Hawaii and Mississippi have only four each. Bonded U.S. wineries grew to 7,367, while virtual wineries (those that produce their wine at host facilities) increased to 1,724.

Winery counts and listings are just two sections among 17 included in the Directory & Buyer’s Guide. The numbers were released in advance of the wine industry’s biggest annual gathering this week in Sacramento, the Unified Wine & Grape Symposium.

The 2017 edition comes in a spiral-bound print format and is also accessible in searchable format online. Both are included for one price.

The extensive listings of contacts and offerings within the Directory & Buyer’s Guide include:

• Wineries

• Winery and brand cross-reference

• Custom crush and winery cross-reference

• Wine grape growers

• Grower and winery cross-reference

• Direct-shipping regulations

North Carolina Divorce Lawyer Discusses “Is January Divorce Month?”

Raleigh, NC, 01/27/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

It’s hard to believe that the New Year is already well under way. If you’re still cleaning up from the holidays and struggling to get back into the swing of work and other responsibilities, you’re definitely not alone. According to psychologists, post-holiday depression is a real condition that affects many people.

As the end of the year wraps up and the New Year begins, many people also decide it’s time to end their marriage. You might have heard of a “January divorce boom,” but is there anything to it?

Actually, there is. Data from a study performed at the University of Washington reveals that divorce filings really do spike in January. The study also showed that divorces surge in March and again in August.

Divorce numbers also increase in January in the U.K., with one in five couples in Britain saying they plan to divorce after the holidays. Studies show that many people put off filing for divorce until after the holidays, as they don’t want to interrupt family gatherings and celebrations that run from November through December. Other couples say they are waiting to divorce due to limited court time over the holiday months, when people tend to take vacations.

Is January the Best Time to Divorce?

Just because other people tend to divorce during certain times of the year, however, doesn’t mean you have to.

North Carolina divorce attorney  Lori Vitale explains, “The best time to divorce is when you’re emotionally and financially ready. Many factors influence the decision to divorce. Just as you shouldn’t rush into it, you also shouldn’t put it off unnecessarily because you’re waiting for the ‘best’ time.”

Some people may also wonder if they should avoid a January divorce — or a divorce filing during any of the so-called divorce “busy seasons” — because they worry their divorce will take longer if they file during a popular time.

Vitale says this shouldn’t be a concern. “Each case moves through the court system at a different pace. You and your spouse may have a straightforward case that can be resolved in a matter of weeks. There is no way to tell what kinds of issues may be involved in the other cases on the court’s docket. Don’t delay starting your case because you’re worried about the court having a busy schedule. Your case will still get the attention it deserves.”

It’s also important to work with a knowledgeable divorce lawyer, who can help you plan your case and avoid unnecessary delays and expenses. “Being prepared is one of the best things you can do to give yourself peace of mind during the divorce,” Vitale says.

Vitale Family Law: North Carolina Divorce Lawyers

Are you thinking about ending your marriage? Divorce doesn’t have to be a depressing experience. In many cases, moving on from a broken relationship can give you the emotional boost you need to start enjoying life again. Massage Confirmed As A Necessary Component Of Comprehensive Health & Wellness

Miami, 01/30/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Regular Massage Confirmed a Necessary Component of Your Comprehensive Health and Wellness

Massage is more than a just a luxury, studies confirm. More and more doctors, clinics, and researchers, including the Mayo Clinic confirm that massage is an essential component of a comprehensive health and wellness plan.

Everywhere in our culture, we see massage. Professional sports teams have massage therapists on their sports medicine team. Corporations bring in massage therapists for chair massage during the workday.

Medical doctors, psychologists, and physical therapists regularly refer their patients for massage as a complementary treatment for everything from depression to aiding in recovery from surgery. Massage therapists use various forms of soft tissue manual manipulation on skin, muscles, tendons, and ligaments to increase circulation of blood and lymph fluid, increase flexibility and range of motion, and release tense and contracted muscles. These physiological effects stimulate release of toxins from tissues for elimination, enhance immunity through lymph circulation, relieves chronic pain by loosening muscles and releasing neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine, and aids in the injury recovery process during sub-acute stages.

Massage releases muscle adhesions and relieves muscles tense from driving, working at a desk, as well as more physically demanding jobs. By increasing circulation and joint flexibility, and decreasing muscle tension, regular massage works to prevent injuries from occurring.

Massage is well known for its beneficial effects on stress and mental health. Massage works physiologically to relieve stress by reducing cortisol levels by activating the parasympathetic nervous system, or the “rest and digest” response that restores the body from “fight or flight.” Chronic stress is a major contributing factor to the vast majority of common illnesses we face today.

Anthony Zitnick, LMT is a Florida massage therapist who has been in practice for ten years, and trained in over 25 different styles of relaxation and therapeutic massage. Zitnick recommends monthly massage as part of a complete health and wellness regimen. For individuals with physically demanding lives, chronic pain, or injuries that are in advanced healing stages, he recommends more frequent massage if possible to target specific muscle groups and break up scar tissue that could impede range of motion.

For this reason, Zitnick offers monthly massage rates for 20% off regular massage prices to encourage his clients to integrate their health and wellness goals into their day-to- day lives. Alongside monthly massage, Zitnick also councils his clients on measures they can take to optimize the benefits of monthly massage, including daily stretches that target specific muscle groups.

“The benefits of massage are cumulative,” Zitnick explains. “Achieving your desired health and wellness goals is an ongoing process.”

For more information about Zitnick and his massage practice, visit

Genomix Nutrition Launches 55 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform

Austin, TX, 01/30/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Genomix Nutrition Launches 55 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform

Genomix Nutrition, Inc. Launches a 55 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform, allowing patients more insight into their individual DNA and giving healthcare providers the opportunity to support their patient’s nutrition based on their individual DNA. This testing will provide the patient an analysis of their genetic weaknesses and what nutritional ingredients they will need for optimal health.

As every person differs from one another genetically, so should their nutritional programs and therapies.

Since it’s launch in April 2016, Genomix Nutrition, Inc, has provided patients and healthcare providers with nutrigenomic testing of 5 key areas within 26 prominent genes. Within the last 8 months, the nutrigenomic testing company has certified 200 providers across the United States and has tested thousands of patients, offering answers to health issues through individualized genetic data. In identifying genetic variations and weaknesses, patients and providers can help support patient weakness and health problems through nutritional support.

Genomix Nutrition’s 26 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform

Although Genomix Nutrition is launching a 55 gene nutrigenomic testing platform, the original 26 gene nutrigenomic testing platform will still be available.

Dr. Kendal Stewart, MD, is the Chief Science Office for Genomix Nutrition. When beginning his journey in creating Genomix Nutrition’s nutrigenomic test, he prioritized the genes that would reveal the most about a person’s metabolic pathways, including how their cells absorb and metabolize nutrients, detox, and generally function. With a simple cheek swab, researchers can test and analyze single nucleotide polymorphisms (also knows as SNPs) through a scientific algorithm and look for sequences of nucleotides that reveal genetic polymorphisms (SNPs) or natural variations in a patient’s DNA. Genetic weaknesses can greatly impact the cellular processes of the body and negatively impact an individual’s nutritional delivery. Once genetic deficiencies are identified, an easy-to-read nutrigenomic report shares the patient’s genetic SNPs in 5 key metabolic areas and offers recommendations on how to support these deficiencies with nutritional recommendations.

The Advanced Panel: 55 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform

With the launch of the 55 Gene Nutrigenomic Testing Platform, patients and providers will be able to gain an in-depth understanding of an individual’s genetic makeup and how that impacts their overall health and wellbeing. The 6 key areas that the test evaluates are 1) Methylation 2) Neurotransmitters 3) Mitochondria 4) Detoxification and 5) Inflammatory and 6) Health Precautions. In testing an additional 29 genes, healthcare providers are able to gain a complete understanding of a patient’s complex biochemical pathways and determine where genetic weakness occurs in said pathways. The new advanced panel also offers a new report section, health precautions, which warns patients of potentially harmful vitamin supplements or therapies that could further harm their health and wellbeing. There are also advanced algorithms for nutrition, lab recommendation, and health precautions per SNP result.

It is recommended that a patient’s testing platform should reflect the severity of their health condition or family history. Patients that want insight into a streamlined nutritional regimen for optimal health are ideal for the 26 gene nutrigenomic testing platform while patients with severe or complex health conditions (or family histories) should obtain the 55 gene nutrigenomic testing platform.

The Impact a 55 Gene Test Can Have for a Patient or Provider

Unfortunately, even with the help of their physician, some severely ill patients are unable to discover what is hindering their health. With the 55 Gene nutrigenomic test, both patients and providers can better understand what cellular processes are and/or are not occurring within the patient and move forward with recommendations confidently and accordingly. Genomix Nutrition’s goal is providing more data to providers and patients through a robust test that can better quality of life through nutrition.

Drug & Alcohol Detox NJ Serenity At Summit Presents Clinical Application Of Pharmacogenetic Testing

Haverhill, 02/01/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Serenity at Summit New England, a part of the Summit Behavioral Health continuum, opened in November 2015 to provide detoxification and residential substance abuse treatment services to the New England and Northeast Communities. As of January 2017 Serenity will have treated close to 1000 patients. One of the key factors that sets this addiction treatment center apart is the utilization of genetic testing to treat co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders.

“Nine million adults in the United States have co-occurring disorders. Additionally, more than 65% of those with a substance use disorder also have a co-occurring mental health disorder. Successful addiction treatment must be multidisciplinary and encompass both the mental health and substance use disorders, explains Patricia Allen DNP MSN PMHNP-BC Executive Director of Nursing Services at Summit Behavioral Health.

Patricia Allen will be presenting this topic at Cheshire Medical Center/Dartmouth Hitchcock Keene on Tuesday, January 31 at 11:00am to nurses, clinicians and social workers. The goal is to educate providers on how to identify best practices that support engagement and recovery for those suffering from the disease of addiction. Participants of this presentation will learn how to review the genetic test and will be given techniques on how to utilize this data in counseling their patients and in forming continuing care plans. This presentation will use case studies which demonstrate the clinical value of pharmacogenetic testing, its impact on clinical outcomes for clients with co-occurring disorders, and reduces the stigma that is a barrier to treatment.

Summit Behavioral Health believes clients with co-occurring disorders benefit from client-centered care that offers personalized treatment. The benefits of pharmacogenetics testing are evident in clients’ engagement and response to treatment. Patricia recently presented this topic at Holy Family Hospital at Merrimack in Haverhill, MA with an overwhelmingly positive response.

Summit Behavioral Health offers intensive outpatient, partial care, medical detox and residential programs for substance abuse treatment that is tailored to each individual’s needs. By blending some of the best clinical practices and evidence-based strategies available, Summit Behavioral Health’s programs treat both addiction and its underlying causes.

Summit Behavioral Health provides a solid foundation for recovery and improves the overall quality of life for individuals with substance abuse disorders and related mental health problems using an integrative treatment approach.

State champion wrestler at Mountain Crest in 2003. Cody, following his father’s footsteps of having wrestled for 25 years, now serves as coach at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, with Guy his assistant coach. Guy still builds homes and designs sheds for the business.

Designing and constructing a shed need not be complicated. With the help of DIY-Plans, anyone can build a modern shed that they can be proud of. To learn more about the company’s inventory of shed plans or to shop their inventory, visit www.DIY-Plans.com or call 801-471-6525.
