The ‘Lo’Lo Project has been introduced to give meteorologist the ability to predict both the touch down zone and the path of a tornado prior to cone formation, the project has been under work for the past few years during which the team working for the LoLo project has faced many challenges and triumphs in their path of creating a system that maybe a Tornado Prediction breakthrough that the meteorologists have been waiting for. The system may be able to assist in the accurate prediction of the path of a tornado and touch down zone even before cone formation. The current challenge the team has to overcome is to raise $60,000 for the ground testing of Totable Weather Engagement and Enhancement Technology (T.W.E.E.T.). To achieve this goal LO`LO PROJECT has launched a KickStarter crowdfunding camping to raise $60,000 between now and April 24th 2015.

According to the LoLo project narrative for the KickStarter campaign, when the money is raised with the help generous supporters, who want to help make tornadoes less destructive through accurate prediction and subsequent timely preventive measures, the money will fund the building of 500 prototypes of T.W.E.E.T. and test it under different weather conditions, including tornadoes. The development and the testing will require proper safety equipment, a reliable and durable vehicle, communication equipment to get up to date information on upper level weather conditions, the ability to record all data obtained to assure T.W.E.E.T. is functioning properly, and the ability to deploy T.W.E.E.T. while testing to assure that the required readings are collected.

Severe weather such as tornadoes wreak havoc in many parts of US and the rest of the world, unfortunately tornadoes are one of the most unpredictable severe weather conditions which makes them even more catastrophic, the recent tornado in the mid-west (Oklahoma and Arkansas) are an example of the destructive nature of tornadoes. The `Lo`Lo Project aims to prevent the destruction through accurate prediction, providing longer warning time, the aim is to enhance present day tornado and weather prediction/warning methods which will protect the lives of citizens in the United States and around the world.

T.W.E.E.T or Totable Weather Engagement and Enhancement Technology is the result of an experiment in The `Lo`Lo Project and will be a mobile-device chip that can be installed in a mobile device and would be able to communicate with the device to send readings of pressure, temperature and humidity from the mobile device sensors to data analysis facilities, strictly for weather analysis.

The developer of the concept April Richelle Vogt explained: “At first, I was looking at building microcontroller weather stations into traffic sensors, giving us a great deal of coverage. However, after exposure to the penetration rate of smartphones and mobile devices around the United States, I was able to manipulate a BMP085 Barometric Pressure sensor (now being replaced with the upgraded version, BMP180), HIH-4030 Hygrometer/Thermometer, and an RFduino RFD22301 to create a thin microchip that would be able to communicate with the device and send readings from sensors to a data analysis facility in near-to-real time (few second delay) strictly for weather analysis.”

The `Lo`lo project website states that the project and the hypothesis were initially designed by April R. Vogt, an undergraduate meteorology student at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The hypothesis took multiple years of work and correlates ground level pressure, temperature, and humidity to determining the path of a tornado prior to cone formation. The intention of The `Lo`Lo Project is to experiment Vogt’s hypothesis and create a cost effective ground level monitoring system that will increase accuracy in weather forecasting. Understandably, the subject matter and the experimentation, testing and collection of usable data for the hypothesis and the consequential devices developed require a constant flow of support of peers and funding.

Formed in 76 in Dublin Ireland by current drummer Larry Mullen Jr., and the band was originally called “Feedback”. Starting as a Beatles and a Rolling Stones tribute band it was comprised of Mullen, his friend Paul Hewson (aka Bono), Dave Evans (aka The Edge), and Dave’s older brother Dik Evans. Dik left the band approximately a year and a half after its inception when it was called “The Hype”. This pared the group down to the four members that we know it as today. Shortly after this, the name again changed, this time, to U2. Winning a talent show in 78, they had made enough to record a long awaited for demo tape. By the latter part of that year, they had hired manager Paul McGuiness.

Releasing an EP “Three” during the fall of 79, they had a hit in Ireland. In 80 they were topping the Irish charts with a new hit, “Another Day”. This won them a contract with renowned Island Records. It would be some time before they would find success outside of Ireland, but for now, they were sensations in Ireland. Thus began the process of their first to come studio album. Boy and subsequent single “I Will Follow.” Per their fan site, this song has been a staple of every concert they have ever given. 30 years after the first release, it’s still a staple. During the early and the mid 80s, they gained a larger following within the U.K. By October of 81 they had released “Fire” as well as “Gloria”. Soon, the band was topping charts in all of the countries. This led them to three new singles, “New Year’s Day”, followed by “Two Hearts Beat As 1”. And lastly, “Sunday Bloody Sunday” were all hitting the charts at or near the top.

Finally breaking into mainstream abroad in 87, they released “Joshua Tree”. This album alone would sell over 25 million copies and be certified a diamond album in the U.S. This would be a six times platinum album in their home in the UK. With another hit in 81 “Achtung Baby” they would sell another 8 million copies in the United States alone. IN the 90s, they were forced to recreate themselves in order to meet the ever-changing needs of the music industry and their listeners. They added in new sounds that would add to different genres like dance as well as industrial. They created new ways to entertain their millions of fans and added in some multimedia as well as other visual effects for their Zoo tour on TV.

Returning to their roots thanks to “All That You Can’t Leave Behind”, they also included their smash hit of Beautiful Day. In 2004, they released the famous “How To of Dismantle An Atomic Bomb”. This would also include the top of the charts “Vertigo” and their iPod commercials for famous Apple Products. By February of 2009, this too would be certified platinum in a variety of countries. By 2014, they released Songs of Innocence and of course, they have performed and recorded with famous names such as B. B. King, as well as Green Day, Johnny Cash and Paul McCartney.

When it comes to rock bands, The Who are certainly well-known and well loved. They got their start as rock was just becoming popular as a genre, and their music played a role in the success of later bands, like Queen and U2. They also had a role in bringing rock opera to the forefront.

The band came on the scene in 1964, and their members including Keith Moon, John Entwistle, Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey. Their first album was entitled “My Generation,” and it was a success almost immediately. Just four years later, they were thrust back to the top of the charts with Tommy, which was the first rock opera album. Coupled with a Woodstock appearance and another album, entitled Who’s Next.

The 70s were mostly good to The Who’s. They were touring often and had a number of releases, including Quadrophenia, The Who by Numbers and Who Are You. Who Are You achieved multiple platinum successes and the band enjoyed a hit single off of that album, also called “Who Are You.” Things turned tragic for the band, however, when Keith Moon died less than a month after the album was released.

The band decided to continue, and Kenny Jones joined as the new drummer for the albums Face Dances and It’s Hard. The albums fared pretty well, but some fans felt that the band was departing from its previous sound and were disappointed in the songs. Pete Townshend also began his struggle with addiction during this time period, and as a result, the band went on a farewell tour to say goodbye to their fans. Townshend continued to struggle in his personal life, and The Who did not have much of a musical presence in the 80s and 90s.

In 1996 and 1997, the living members of the band got back together and went on tour. In 1999, they had several more musical performances and then went on tour of the United Kingdom and United States in 2000. Two years later, they had several more shows together before Entwistle died that summer. Daltrey and Townshend powered through their United States tour, and they even released another album in 2006, entitled Endless Wire. They then went on tour again. The men took it fairly easy until they went on a North American Tour in 2012 and 2013.
