Quality Certifications Give Plastics Company Underground Tornado Shelter Advantage

The looming threat of tornadoes and inclement storms are a growing concern to families all across parts of the United States, as the 2015 tornado season is off to a historically slow start. The slow start to the season is allowing a number of families to be proactive in their tornado safety planning. After storms caused damage, destruction and death in a number of states the last few years, many families are opting to add an underground storm shelter to their safety and preparedness plans. As many consumers are finding out, no two tornado shelters are built exactly alike.

Through the decade, there has been a growing number of companies and individuals selling, distributing and installing shelters through the country. While many of these companies are quality, innovation and solutions minded, there is little regulation providing customer assurance of safety and quality in the shelter industry. The ICC, the International Code Council offers some design and specifications criteria for underground storm shelters and above ground safe rooms, however there is little oversight as to the actual quality that is being built into the units.

Most, if not all, above ground safe rooms are fabricated from steel or other materials. These units are only as safe as the quality that is built into the unit. As with all products, at times, variations will occur. The quality and consistency will vary from unit to unit and from one welding personnel to another, not to mention from one company to another. The same holds true when creating mixtures of concrete.

The Granger ISS, In-ground Safety Shelter, is a seamless rotationally molded unit consisting of a double-walled construction. The double wall construction features (2) impressive one-half inch thick walls, which is complemented by a VOC exempt foam, for additional structure, rigidity and reduced condensation. Condensation can plague both above ground and underground shelters, contingent upon the location and installation. The build of condensation can cause rusting, paint issues or even deterioration in structural integrity. Plastic tornado shelters however, do not have any concerns with rusting, rotting or paint popping off, like their steel counterparts. The rotational molding process provides storm shelter quality advantages by eliminating a number of opportunities for human error that could be attributed to welding, mixing concrete or even spraying fiberglass.

Many shelters offer little innovation as most of them are cookie cutter duplicates of previously designed units. The Granger ISS offers a patented, innovative design, which allows for installation in virtually any location, without the requirements of a costly, labor intensive anchoring system. This allows for the underground shelter to be installed in approximately 4 hours.

Under the terms of the Agreement, Naturally Splendid will invest a minimum of CAD $250,000 to retain POS to further develop the plant based omega technologies and products licensed from Full Spectrum Laboratories Limited, specifically targeting the omega oil industry. The technical and product development strategy will be finalized in April 2015 and final details will be provided at that time. All intellectual property and products developed by POS, in the course of providing the Services, will be solely owned by Naturally Splendid.

GoldStar Licenses Proprietary Fine Gold Recovery Tech “F-GEM”; Company Anticipates Clean & Green High Gold-Recovery Rates

PHOENIX, AZ / ACCESSWIRE / March 30, 2015 / GoldStar Northamerican Mining, Inc. (PINKSHEETS:GDSR), an emerging, surface gold mining company with land holdings in Arizona on which it anticipates commencing gold production during the Second Quarter of 2015, today announced it has licensed the proprietary Fine Gold Extraction Machine (“F-GEM”) technology from Alberta, Canada-based Black Sand Technology. F-GEM has previously been used with great success in the Yukon of Canada in the Klondike Gold Rush area near Dawson City to recover fine gold from previously dredged placer deposits. The equipment has been shipped to Phoenix and is awaiting deployment.

F-GEM is designed to recover gold from placer, desert alluvial, and fine-gold/black sands metallic deposits. It is proprietary, “clean & green,” in that it does not use any chemicals, and at production scale has shown to recover up to 90 percent of the contained gold. GoldStar has exclusively licensed this technology and plans to deploy it on its initial mining project outside Quartzsite, Arizona to process and recover the gold-bearing deposits it mines.

F-GEM’s fine gold extraction methodology allows the recovery of very fine gold particles from alluvial placer material whether in placer deposits, or mill tailings. The basis for this system is a revolutionary magnet technology that uses Rare Earth Element permanent magnets to affect precious metals. The magnets are incorporated throughout the Recovery System and allow the capture of fine gold that is typically lost in the conventional gravity-separation process or lost in mill tailings.

The power of the magnets in the Magnetic Recovery Unit causes the magnetic material to be pulled in one direction and separated from the non-magnetics such as gold. This process is effective at separating precious metals from black sand/magnetite, which is considered one of the most difficult splits in the industry. The F-GEM gold processing equipment uses minimal water, and power can be provided by conventional diesel generators. GoldStar is the only mining company to whom Black Sand has currently licensed this technology. GoldStar’s exclusivity period runs for 24 months from the signing of the agreement. Black Sand agreed to provide a technical development team which will assist GoldStar in adjusting the F-GEM to optimize gold recovery on its Plomosa Mining District surface gold mining operation. Terms include a net smelter royalty and staged cash payments along with other customary conditions.
