The Women’s Reproductive Mental Health Program is Now Open to Patients

CHESTERFIELD, MO / ACCESSWIRE / March 26, 2015 / The team of depression treatment therapists from St. Louis Behavioral Medicine Institute (SLBMI) has just announced the opening of their new Women’s Reproductive Mental Health and Wellness Program. The Program offers specialized treatment in helping women with depression, anxiety, and stress associated with pregnancy, postpartum depression, infertility, menstruation, and menopause.

“We are providing comprehensive care to women experiencing mood and/or anxiety symptoms associated with their reproductive health and life transitions,” said Melanie McKean, D.O., Ph.D., Medical Director of the depression therapy treatment program. “It is the only program of its kind in the St. Louis area, providing integrated psychological and psychiatric care dedicated to these issues.” Women will be treated by the Program’s multidisciplinary team at SLBMI’s Chesterfield office, located at Baxter and Clarkson, she added.

The Program is now open to help women who are struggling with reproductive concerns across the life span. For the woman who has struggled to become pregnant, for the woman who experiences difficulty during her pregnancy or adjustment afterwards, or for the woman who lost her child through miscarriage, the mental health specialists from SLBMI are here to help.
