Toty Launches New UK Tax Rebate Service To Help Thousands Claim Back Tax Overpayments

Accounting firm Toty estimates that high earners could claw back over £1,000 from HMRC using its convenient tax reimbursement service.

Toty says that people earning between £50,000 and £100,000 on specific pension schemes may have overpaid tax. The problem emerges from previous tax calculations. Normally, those earning in the £50,000 to £100,000 range pay 40% income tax. However, tax relief is only 20% by default when contributing to Relief at Source pensions. Toty’s purpose is to help people claim that additional 20% back from the taxman. 

“The process is simple and only takes ten minutes,” the company says. “Most claims are successful, but if HMRC refuses for any reason, we don’t charge a fee so our customers don’t miss out.”

Applicants for the new tax rebate service must fulfil various eligibility criteria to make a claim. These include living and working in the UK, earning within the 40% income tax threshold ($50,270 to £100,000), and paying into a Relief at Source pension scheme. 

Signing up requires applicants to answer a few questions about their finances to ensure eligibility. Then, Toty asks for an ID photo and a P60 form with an annual pension statement. Accountants review the claim and submit it to HMRC for processing. Then, the tax authority pays the tax rebate into the applicant’s bank account directly. 

“Various pension schemes exist, and not all are Relief at Source,” says Toty. “Therefore, we recommend that our clients check what type of pension they have. Aviva, Penfold, The People’s Pension, True Potential Investments, and the National Employment Savings Trust are the most common providers. However, there are others, so we always recommend people get in touch with us as soon as possible to learn more about any relief the government entitles them to receive.”

Toty says it only takes ten minutes for earners to find out if the HMRC owes them money and encourages them to come forward. “There might be a nice sum of money in it,” the accountancy firm says.
