Holstery Produces New Tape Measure Holder

January 07, 2020 – – Anyone in search of a high quality tape measure holder need not look any further than Moscow, ID based Holstery’s hand-made tape measure holders. The company produces all kinds of high quality holsters for a wide range of applications. Manufactured in a small workshop in Moscow, the holsters are created using the latest, most innovative technologies (like CNC machines and 3D printers) to produce the most durable and useful tool holders on the market. Holstery’s attention to detail and commitment to producing a top quality product is what sets them apart from similar items in this category.

“Who carries a tape measure around all day?” asks Josh Hartung of Holstery. “The people that get things done. The people that make sure things are right. People like you. When you’re on the job, you carry that tape with you all day because you need it all day no matter what you find yourself doing. I set out to build the world’s best tape measure holster from tactical materials and stainless steel, and that’s what you’re looking at. It’s about time.”

The tape measure holders from Holstery are designed to be better in every way, and the high performance they have come to be known to offer among Holstery’s customers is proof of this. According to Holstery, the tape measure holder, “Holds on like a tiny, tape-measure eating pit-bull—but a well-trained one that lets go when you ask nicely,” and each holder is, “battle tested. They also feature a replaceable belt clip that was designed to hold firearms. The glass filled nylon construction has a tang at the bottom made to wrap underneath belts up to 1.75” in width. This means the holster stays in place whether one is crawling through an attic, getting out of a truck or chasing down a criminal.

Holstery holsters are ultra light and nearly indestructible, according to the description on the company’s site, and are made using several high grade materials designed for other fields, such as aircraft and firearms. Every holster is built by hand using only the finest materials and comes with a lifetime warranty. If anything goes wrong with any of the holsters, one can trust that Holstery will find a way to rectify the issue.

The company is run by Hartung, a resident of Idaho who works to support his family by producing high quality products in the US, for the US. The company is relatively small, with everything being hand made locally. Josh makes use of his skills and knowledge as a mechanical engineer to produce high quality items, using the newest and most advanced techniques like CNC machining, 3D printing and membrane vacuum forming. Through these techniques, he is able to make the lightest, most durable holsters on the market. Learn more here: Made In The USA.

“I worked in the trades for years and struggled with tool belts,” says Josh. “I find myself doing multiple jobs in a day—in the morning I’m framing, afternoon finish carpentry, evening electrical. Traditional tool belts are massive and bulky, or cheaply made and poorly thought out. I went through most of the ‘traditional’ tool belts and never found something that matched my way of working. I started Holstery to build a lightweight, modular, and ultra-high quality tool belt system that will last a lifetime. I hope you like it.”

Hartung’s work has been very well received by his customers, with a number of them leaving highly positive reviews. “Very durable and functional,” says a customer in a review on Holstery’s website. “The fact that it has a clip is really nice too; you don’t have to weave it through your belt each morning. I’m really enjoying using this holder. I was using a Milwaukee tape measure and it was very difficult to slide in. I’m not bashing the holder, just keep in mind that certain tapes might fit better with this product. I recently bought a Klein tape measure and it works very well with the holder. Strongly recommend this product!”

Find out more about the company, their products and order one of their tape measure holders on Holstery’s website. Interested parties are also welcome to reach out to Josh Hartung to follow up on any further inquiries.

National Alaskan Malamute Day Celebrated at TheWoofBook.Com

January 07, 2020 – – Laguna Niguel, CA – As part of its ongoing series of National Dog Breed Day celebrations, TheWoofBook.com announces January 7th as National Alaskan Malamute Day. Alaskan Malamutes are very strong and are capable of pulling extremely heavy loads. With their striking appearance accented by their almond shaped brown eyes, these decendents of arctic sled dogs are affectionate pack animals who are loyal to their human families and particularly good with children.

Charlet C. Sterling, Director of Customer Services, notes, “Many people mistakenly believe that Malamutes are used for sled dog racing. But they are not racing dogs. Their talent is in their ability to pull heavy loads over long distances, not speed.”

In spite of the breed’s popularity today, during World War II, the breed nearly became extinct. In 1947, there were only thirty registered Alaskan Malamutes remaining. Fortunately, due to the determined efforts of a single breeder, Robert J. Zoller, the breed was renewed.

Sterling notes, “Alaskan Malamutes are heroic dogs and were faithful compainions to the Klondike gold miners who came to Alaska in 1896. They helped Rear Admiral Sir Richard Byrd in his quest to reach the South Pole and served as rescue dogs in Greenland during World War II.”

The Alaskan Malamute breed, along with all the dog breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club has its own group at TheWoofBook.com. Malamute owners and lovers can join this group or dog groups of their choice by going to: https://thewoofbook.com/groups/AlaskanMalamutes.

Insurance Covered Breast Pumps Releases New Medela Breast Pump Guide

January 07, 2020 – – Insurance covered Brest Pumps is a company dedicated to making sure that nursing mothers have easy access to breast pumps and accessories at a reduced or no cost. The company provides different products from major brands to give mothers the best option. Recently, the company has released information that will help nursing mothers choose the best insurance covered Medela breast pumps.

According to the site, “Some pumps are battery operated so you don’t need to be tethered to a wall with an outlet. It allows for way more flexibility in where and when you pump. However, the pumps that plug into the wall can offer a stronger suction, meaning you can pump more in less time.

“If you are someone who is on the go, then a battery operated pump is probably the best solution for you. The Medela which are some of the most popular pumps on the market — offer battery packs, but have stronger suction when plugged in. Additionally, if a pump has a built-in battery, it can often be heavier than those without. If you are someone who is planning on pumping at work in a designated area at designated times, then plugging into an outlet is probably your best solution. If you are planning on pumping several times a day, a more heavy-duty pump with stronger suction can help the actual pumping sessions last for shorter periods of time, which is a pretty big deal for something you have to do multiple times a day. If you are planning on breastfeeding most of the time and only pumping when necessary, then having a pump that just stays plugged into a wall should work for you! A heavier pump such as the Medela might be a good choice.”

Colorado Jobs Program Creates Apprenticeships in Growing Construction Industry

January 07, 2020 – – Build Colorado, based in Denver, Colorado, has announced that their jobs program in the state is creating apprenticeships in the growing construction industry. The Build Colorado website was established by the Associated General Contractors of Colorado and the Colorado Contractors Association and one of their job programs is Construction Careers Now (CCN), which prepares students to start a career in construction. This pre-apprenticeship program is provided at no cost to the participant and the next class will start on January 13, 2020. The tuition, which is valued at $1,500, is industry sponsored and students can begin their new career within 30 days after the four-week CCN program. The requirement is that students have to be a Colorado resident.

A spokesperson for Build Colorado says, “Classes are from Monday to Thursday, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The curriculum includes introduction to a variety of skilled trades and career paths; OSHA 10 safety card; basic construction measurement; contractor presentations; and resumes, career coaching, and interviewing skills.”

Build Colorado also offers Denver and Colorado apprenticeship programs, which are designed to provide a worker with the necessary skills for a particular trade that are in high demand in Colorado and throughout the U.S. Many of the construction contractors in Colorado are willing to sponsor their entry level workers after they have completed an introductory phase to find out if the employee really likes the construction industry and is willing and ready to work during the day while attending evening classes. Most of these apprenticeships will be completed within three to four years. The apprentices will take part in classroom sessions and also work while being guided by a skilled tradesperson as they work towards obtaining a license in the particular skilled trade that they have chosen.

For those who are really interested in Colorado jobs in construction, apprenticeships are available for carpenters, asbestos / insulation workers, electricians, cement masons, elevator constructors, glaziers, floor coverers, craft laborers, iron workers, heavy equipment mechanics, plumbers, pipefitters, painters, sheetmetal workers and reinforcing ironworkers.

Several schools in Colorado are participating in the apprenticeship programs. These include the Colorado Mountain College, Colorado Northwestern Community College, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado State University, Colorado State University in Pueblo, Community College of Aurora, Community College of Denver, Front Range Community College, Lamar Community College, Morgan Community College, Pikes Peak Community College, Pueblo Community College, Red Rocks Community College, Trinidad State Junior College, Aims Community College, Arapahoe Community College, Colorado Mesa University, Construction Industry Training Council, Emily Griffith Technical College, Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain, Pickens Technical College, Southwest Colorado Community College, IntelliTec College, and Redstone College Denver.

Build Colorado also offers the High School Construction Connection program. This program makes use of volunteer navigator teams that will interact with the various participating high schools and will serve as guides for the students regarding the career opportunities in the construction industry. These navigator teams will provide interested students with job site tours, hands-on opportunities, including those implemented by associated general contractors at certain high schools, panel discussions regarding opportunities, speakers sharing their stories regarding the life of a construction worker, and internship opportunities.

Interested high school students can visit or contact their high school counselor. There are various benefits in seeking a job in the construction industry. These include the opportunity to earn good money right out of high school; the opportunity to be a part in the building of Colorado as one of the best places in the US; the fact that no experience is required because students will be mentored and trained on the job by construction contractors; and the fact that the construction industry is on the verge of making significant advancements in technology.

Meanwhile, they also offer the Careers in Construction (CIC) program, which was started in 2015 by the Associated General Contractors of Colorado and the Housing & Building Association of Colorado Springs in partnership with top regional educators to solve the workforce shortage in El Paso County by putting back skilled vocational education in high schools.

Top Holiday Home Company Norfolk’s Hidden Gems Reveals What to Do in Norfolk This Winter

January 07, 2020 – – Visiting an area in wintertime is a great idea for a break but most visitors are usually under the impression that there will not be a great deal to do once they get there. In reality this is not the case and there is no shortage of available things to do. Visitors to the area wanting to know what’s on in Norfolk this winter will find much more than they might expect.

In summertime people naturally think of sandy beaches as might be expected, but in wintertime they are hardly given a second thought. Norfolk has some wonderful sandy beaches and for anyone who enjoys walking as an exercise, they offer the opportunity to take long walks without all the noise and bustle of summertime crowds to spoil the experience.

There are dog friendly beaches for those who have taken their pets with them and with or without dogs, Norfolk has many cliff tops that offer an interesting walk with great views of the sea. For those with children who are less likely to be interested in long walks, there is the opportunity to go crabbing. Crabbing equipment is often available within Norfolk’s Hidden Gem’s cottages but if not, it can easily be purchased locally.

Staying with a coastal theme, it is also possible to visit some of Norfolk’s lifeboat stations. Wells lifeboat station in particular is worth a visit. Unlike many modern RNLI boathouses, there is no separate public viewing area and it still has much of its original 1895 structure inside. Apart from Wells, the boathouses at Cromer and Sheringham are also open for public viewing.

It’s not just walks on the beach or clifftops that Norfolk has to offer at this time of year, however. There are many other things to do in Norfolk that offer visitors a chance to do something just a little different in wintertime.

For those interested in wildlife, the RSPB has renowned bird-watching reserves such as Snettisham, Titchwell Marsh, Berney Marshes, amongst others. In addition, there are reserves such as the internationally recognised Sculthorpe Moor, which is the home of the Hawk and Owl Trust. The nature reserve at Pensthorpe, is also recognised internationally and is designated as a Special Area of Conservation.

Birds are not the only wildlife species available to wintertime visitors. Seals too, offer an unusual opportunity for wildlife enthusiasts. There is a small colony at Titchwell which can be reached on foot from Brancaster beach, but the main attraction is definitely the colony at Blakeney Point. Accessible by boat, trips to Blakeney Point are available all year round and offer a chance to get close to common and grey seals.

It’s not just wildlife enthusiasts that are catered for in the wintertime. The North Norfolk Railway offers the opportunity for many unusual experiences. Trips in the cab of a diesel, behind the scenes visits to the engine sheds, and a day in an old-fashioned signal box are all available options. For the steam enthusiast, there are three different options available, all of which offer a unique experience. If driving a steam train is not a visitor’s preferred way to spend a day on the railway, there are also dining cars available to give visitors a taste of life as it used to be.

Sandringham is another place that should be on a visitor’s list of things to do. Sandringham is where the Royals have an estate and where they usually spend Christmas. The Church of St. Mary Magdalene, used by the Royals, is a favorite destination and is actually on the estate. Churches, pubs, shops, all within the vicinity; parks, castles, windmills and more just a short distance away, all offer something to do in winter in Norfolk.

Norfolk’s Hidden Gems has specially selected cottages throughout Norfolk that enable visitors to choose any or all of these wintertime experiences. Winter may not be the height of the tourist season but there is always something to do in Norfolk.

Adam Kimmel Joins the Cinematography Master Class Series at SVA

January 07, 2020 – – Adam Kimmel recently participated in a Master Class series in Cinematography, under Professor Dejan Georgevich at the School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City. The class is generally one session lasting for about 3 hours. Kimmel, who has participated in this class previously, chose to show students, sections of two films that he shot, “Capote” and “Never Let Me Go.” Both clips were from the third acts of the films. He explained the choices that he had to make and why he made them, and then provided details about the factors that helped him arrive at those choices.

In “Never Let Me Go,” Kimmel explains that there was a sequence in which one of the main characters discovers that the one thing he thought was keeping him alive, isn’t true. “He’s destined to die soon and die young,” explained Kimmel. It was scripted as a night scene that took place out on a country road, where he is a passenger in a car. He asks the driver to pull over, gets out, and completely breaks down on the side of the road. According to Kimmel, the challenge, both creatively and financially, was lighting a country road that is in total darkness.

“This would have required a lot of costly equipment, so I proposed to the director, and then to the producers, to shoot the scene in that last little slice of dusk, when you can feel the day is gone but it’s not completely dark yet.” Said Kimmel, “To me, this felt more in tune with the emotion that the character is experiencing.” It would require that Kimmel and the team work with precision, and do all of the work in a short window of light. “I knew it would save on costs, and time, as long as we could pull it off.”

As the cinematographer Adam had to convince the director and producers that shooting at dusk would add something fleeting to the scene, and be very powerful, even though they would have to work quickly. They agreed, and discussed what they would need to get it done. The plan was discussed with the actors, and Kimmel broke down and planned every shot with the Assistant Director to ensure they would have everything they needed, for every shot.

In the end, according to Kimmel, the scene worked really well and he believes the way it was shot set the perfect tone for a profound performance by Andrew Garfield. “This is a great example for students to see,” he explained later. “It shows them how various factors and choices come into play, before shooting, and as you shoot.”

According to Kimmel, the scenes he highlighted in the Master Class in Cinematography demonstrates to students the real life challenges a cinematographer faces. “I hope that it has given them some insight into how they could apply their creativity when they finally work as cinematographers.”

Adam Kimmel, ASC is a NYC cinematographer and director of photography (DP) who has been instrumental in helping film directors establish the visual look of feature films and commercials for over 35 years. As DP, he has also assisted directors and producers as they tell their stories, lending his artistic and technical expertise in lighting, camera operation, and film stock choices. Kimmel has been nominated for several national awards for Best Cinematography. Some of his credits include Mark Felt, Foxcatcher, Capote, Lars and the Real Girl, Chrystal, Never Let Me Go, Jesus’ Son, Monument Avenue, Auggie Rose, Beautiful Girls, New Jersey Drive, Almost Heroes, Who’s the Man, Me and the Mob, and The Ref.

Denver Moving Company Offers Top Tips to Prepare for Relocation in 2020

January 07, 2020 – – American Moving & Storage, based in Broomfield, Colorado, has announced that they recently published a blog post that offers tips on how to prepare for relocation in 2020. The article is titled, “How to Find and Hire the Right Mover,” and offers some recommendations to people who need to move to a new home soon. The article suggests that those who are moving would be better off collaborating with a moving company. This is because the professionals from the moving company would be able help in making things easier for the moving family, from the packing and transportation, to the unpacking and installing of various things in the new home.

Gabriel Kierson, President of American Moving & Storage, says, “Finding the right mover is a process. First, you should take suggestions from friends and family members. Maybe someone has been through a relocation process recently and can even recommend you a moving company. Alternatively, browse the internet and look for professional movers in your area.”

He continues, “Get in touch with some of them, provide them details about your inventory that must be relocated and ask for estimates. Compare them and choose those that seem the most convenient for you. However, do not sign a contract with a moving company before checking its credentials (license, insurance, certifications) and customer feedback on its website, social media account or Better Business Bureau.”

Gabriel Kierson points out that American Moving & Storage has the track record and the expertise to ensure that the moving family has a stress-free moving experience. He states that they have been the top preferred moving company for both local and long distance moving, packing, and storage services for realtors and Colorado residents since 1997. They are ready to handle local moving of any size, long distance moving for any budget, moving of specialty items, provide packing services, offer secure short-term and long-term storage, offer concierge service, hassle-free pricing, and provide boxes and packaging supplies.

As a local Denver moving company, American Moving & Storage provides full service, which includes home packing services, home storage services, and interstate moving. Gabriel Kierson explains that their greatest assets are their movers, who are full-time employees and not just contractors. They have all undergone the appropriate background checks and have been rigorously trained for the job so that the moving process would proceed smoothly.

For long distance moving, American Moving & Storage offers flexible moving alternatives that ensure the family’s priced possessions are kept safe and secure. They can offer exclusive use of their 53 trailers, allowing families to choose the exact loading and unloading days, possibly hold the shipment on the trailer between pickup and delivery for two days to one month, and families are assured that nobody else’s possessions will get mixed up with their possessions.

They can also send professionals to the home of the client and inventory the things that need to moved, inventory all goods, disassemble furniture items, carefully pad wrap all of the items, load the items into storage vaults where they can remain for several days, several months, or several years, depending on the needs of the client.

They can also provide express van service, which is their door-to-door service. The movers that moved the things from the client’s home will be same ones who will drive and move the family and their possessions into the new home. They provide exclusive and consolidated shipping on 26 moving vans. While this particular service a bit more expensive compared to the other services, it ensures the fastest delivery of the family’s possessions.

American Moving & Storage can also offer international moving services. For this, international clients often need temporary storage for an international corporate relocation or a global move. Their full-service international moving firm, Crown Relocations, takes care of the storage requirements as it has more than 207 warehouses in 58 countries.

New 2020 Bali Yoga Retreats in Ubud are Now Available

January 07, 2020 – – One of the premier yoga centers in the world, Blooming Lotus Yoga, is now accepting applications from students for its 2020 yoga retreats in Bali. Located in Ubud, the yoga center will be offering both four and seven-day retreats.

Whether a student is considering the possibility of training to be a full-time yoga teacher or whether they just want to “take a meditation break” and explore the yogic lifestyle, these Bali yoga retreats are an excellent place to start.

Blooming Lotus Yoga’s experienced teachers will not just be teaching the mechanics of how a particular posture is to be performed, however. At Blooming Lotus, they will also be aiming to demystify some of the secret practices of yoga that, in their view, can truly transform lives. Yoga Nidra will be working not only with chakras, but with Ayurveda, which is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing systems. In addition, the teachers will also be discussing yogic philosophy.

Mary L., a student at Blooming Lotus Yoga, said that she found the environment very comfortable and enjoyable. “The villas are very close to the river and you can hear the water flowing while you are in your room. You can literally ‘feel’ the depth of the silence. The only sounds you hear are the birds, the river and the jungle, It is incredibly natural and relaxing.”

Offering attendees, the experience of a unique Bali yoga retreat in the town of Ubud, and unlike many yoga centers, attending students will also have the opportunity to take in Balinese culture and cuisine. It is said that for the Balinese, the natural world is infused with spiritual energy. They have a deep and profound connection to the invisible energy abundant in nature and for them, it has a tangible reality. The whole Balinese culture is impregnated with rituals and ceremonies that honor the invisible force that in yoga is called “prana,” or the all-pervading cosmic energy. This pranic force permeates all of life and for the Balinese is as real as the air they breathe.

Each of the yoga retreats includes two cultural experiences in the nearby town of Ubud. There are daily shuttles that leave the center every afternoon. So, if a visitor chooses to eat somewhere other than at the retreat to further their Balinese experience, that is now possible.

According to a recent article in the Minds Journal, a visit to a yoga retreat in Bali will “open your heart.” Some visitors are simply people drawn to the meditative stillness of sitting mindfully and quietly with fellow humans. Others just want to speak with a fellow human being who is not constantly glued to a phone or tablet or some other such device. The journal suggests that whichever is the case, a yoga retreat in Bali may be just what is needed.

Even though students are encouraged to live a simple life at the retreat, modern technology in the form of Wi-Fi is available although not everywhere within the compound. Visitors are encouraged to turn their devices off and to be away from their screens as much as possible.

“Yoga helps you find your core,” said Lucy, a retreat attendee. “It helps you to realize that you may be running so fast that you haven’t really had time to reflect – you know where you are, but you have no idea where you’ve been. I don’t think that I will ever be the same person again.”

The Mind’s Journey website also talked about the need for relaxation in modern life – and that at these yoga retreats, attendees would be taught to relax. “You are brought back to the simple state of life, where you can breathe, talk to real people, and have meaningful conversations, which will allow you to open yourself up a little more.”

As always when attending a Blooming Lotus Yoga offering, a portion of the fee is sent to help the less fortunate in Bali and in India. “We consider sharing and kindness as part of our lineage,” said one of the resident teachers.
