RiskSpan Updates RS Edge Data Tool With New Features For Capital Markets

Vienna, VA, 05/17/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

RiskSpan, a data management and predictive analytics firm that specializes in solutions for the mortgage, capital markets, and banking industries, today announced a new release of its loan-level mortgage query tool, RS Edge.

RS Edge is a data and analytics tool custom designed for searching mortgage pool and loan-level data. The software service allows users to identify performance trends based on historical data and run customized queries on multi-layered cohorts of borrowers.

“RiskSpan is excited to offer timely enhancements to RS Edge,” says Bernadette Kogler, CEO of RiskSpan.“These new features will make it much easier to identify, parse, and analyze value-rich deals that are available to trade.”

RiskSpan’s most recent release adds three new features to help market participants draw timely insights into borrower behavior: normalization of servicer and originator names across all agencies, a filter to quickly find and parse specified pools, and a filter to search and categorize pools held by the Federal Reserve or locked up in REMICs.

With the Servicer Normalization feature, RS Edge facilitates trend analysis by servicer and originator by standardizing more than 10,000 text-names across datasets. Analysts no longer need to reconcile and consolidate a dozen or more spellings and abbreviations of the same servicer. The normalized names allow for quick analysis comparing servicer prepayment speeds.

The Specified Pool Filter allows users to quickly search for market-standard specified pools and parse these pools by additional features, including servicer, seller, and other characteristics.

The Tradeable Float Filter allow users to isolate pools that are held by the Federal Reserve or pledged to REMICs/SMBS. Using this filter, users can compare Fed holdings in specific cohorts and sub-cohorts and gain insight about potential changes to the mortgage market as the Fed begins to sell its $1.7 trillion dollar MBS portfolio.

“RiskSpan’s mission is to be the most user-friendly software on the market, and we are constantly making updates to our platform that stay true to that goal,” says Janet Jozwik, Managing Director at RiskSpan and panelist at the upcoming IBM Vision Conference. “Many of our new features come directly from conversations we’ve had with clients and industry leaders. We are always looking for new ways to meet the needs of the market.”

Dallas Criminal Lawyer: Reasonable Suspicion Update On Drug And Gun Crimes

Dallas, TX, USA, 05/17/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

The United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit (which covers Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi), recently decided an important case about the right of citizens to sue the police for retaliating against them. The case is Alexander v. City of Round Rock, No. 16-50839 (5th Cir. April 18, 2017). In Alexander, a man refused to cooperate with an officer who attempted to question him about his potentially suspicious activity in a parking lot. The officer and another officer who arrived on the scene allegedly pulled the citizen out of his car, threw him on the ground, kneed him in the back, and forced his head against the concrete, allegedly injuring him. They did this, according to the citizen, because he would not answer the officer’s questions when the officer approached him, reports Dallas criminal lawyer John Helms.

As a criminal defense lawyer, I defend people who are accused of crimes. I do not handle civil lawsuits against the police. From my perspective, the case is interesting because of its discussion of whether the police had “reasonable suspicion” to detain the citizen. If they did not, any evidence they found after they detained the citizen cannot be used against him.

In many cases involving possession of illegal drugs or the illegal possession of guns, the police detain a person and search the person and/or the person’s car. If they find illegal drugs or a gun that the person cannot legally possess, such as because the person is a convicted felon or because the person is also in possession of illegal drugs, they arrest the person and charge the person with a crime. If the police detained the person in violation of their constitutional rights, however, the drugs or gun normally cannot be used against the person, and the case collapses. Because our Constitution does not allow the police to detain a citizen without “reasonable suspicion” that a person is committing a crime, it is important to understand when the police have “reasonable suspicion.”

In the Alexander case, the Fifth Circuit discussed whether the officer had reasonable suspicion to detain Mr. Alexander. The facts that the court assumed to be true indicated that Mr. Alexander was looking around in the grass next to a hotel parking lot at night and that he got into his car as the police approached. The police officer approached Mr. Alexander in his car and began asking what he was doing. Mr. Alexander refused to respond to the officer’s questions. The officer and a backup officer then detained him by pulling him out of his car and handcuffing him. The Fifth Circuit held that the officers did not have reasonable suspicion that Mr. Alexander was doing anything illegal.

The court identified a number of factors that can, in some circumstances, lead to reasonable suspicion. One is flight from police officers. The court explained, though, that there is a difference between “headlong flight,” which can indicate fear of being caught doing something illegal, and simply walking away from the police while going about one’s business. In this case, the court said that Mr. Alexander did not engage in “headlong flight” just because he got into his car.

Another factor is an informant’s tip of criminal activity, but prior Fifth Circuit case law says that an informant’s tip must be specific and have indications of reliability, and there was no informant’s tip in the Alexander case.

Presence in a high crime area is another factor, according to the court, but the United States Supreme Court case of Illinois v. Wardlow, 528 U.S. 119 (2000), establishes that, for a “high crime area” to be an important factor, it should be a specific location in which crime is known to occur, rather than just a broad geographic area.

Another factor is the time of day. According to the Fifth Circuit, if activity occurs very late at night, such as around 2:00 a.m., this can increase the likelihood that there is enough suspicion. The Alexander case involved a stop at about 9:15 at night, though, and this was not considered late enough to favor reasonable suspicion.

The law is also well-established that a police officer can pull over a motorist who violates the traffic laws, but there was no allegation that Mr. Alexander had done so.

All in all, the court said that the circumstances of this case that the court assumed as true did not create reasonable suspicion. Therefore, if the police had found any drugs or guns on Mr. Alexander or in his car, they would probably not be able to charge him with a crime relating to them.

The Alexander case is important because it reviews a number of factors that courts will consider in determining whether the police were justified in detaining a suspect. If you or a loved one have been arrested based on drugs or a gun found after a police detention, these factors may come into play in your case, and they may mean the difference between whether the case must be dismissed or allowed to continue.

The law about reasonable suspicion is very complicated and depends on the unique facts of each case. Anyone charged with a crime who believes their rights may have been violated by a police detention should always consult with an experienced criminal defense lawyer who knows the law in this area.

One final word of caution. Neither the Alexander case, nor this article, should be read as encouraging citizens to refuse to talk to the police. If you are doing nothing wrong, you are almost always better off by politely answering the officer’s questions so that the officer knows why there is no reason to suspect you. The vast majority of police officers will leave you alone and let you go about your business if you do this. On the other hand, if you are defiant with a police officer and try to play lawyer, you will probably make the officer mad, and you risk being hassled or even arrested. That will almost never be worth the point you are trying to make.

If you or a loved one have been charged with a crime in the Dallas area, you should strongly consider hiring someone who really knows the ins and outs of the law. Contact Dallas criminal defense lawyer John Helms at (214) 666-8010 or fill out the online contact form. You can discuss your case, how the law may apply and your best legal options to protect your rights and freedom.

Alcoholism Treatment Experts Explain How to Overcome Alcohol Withdrawal Symptoms

New Jersey, 05/17/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

For many people with an alcohol abuse problem, the struggle to quit is all too familiar. In fact, many people attempt to stop drinking multiple times, only to relapse and start drinking again, reports the alcoholism treatment experts at Summit Behavioral Health.

A significant factor in this cycle is alcohol withdrawal syndrome. As WebMD states, “Alcohol withdrawal syndrome is a potentially life-threatening condition that can occur in people who have been drinking heavily for weeks, months, or years and then either stop or significantly reduce their alcohol consumption.”

Alcohol withdrawal syndrome is a serious health concern that can lead to death if not properly managed. If you believe you have a problem with alcohol, it’s important to know the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal and to seek professional help before you attempt to quit drinking on your own.

Symptoms of Alcohol Withdrawal

The symptoms of alcohol withdrawal can escalate rapidly, so it’s crucial to understand the signs.

Anxiety
Shakiness
Seizures
Delirium tremens (DT), which includes confusion, rapid heart rate, and fever
Hallucinations

Individuals experiencing withdrawal from alcohol may also feel paranoid or unusually stressed. They may also suffer from insomnia and other physical ailments, such as headaches and nausea.

If you have ever stopped drinking your morning cup of coffee cold turkey, you know how even something as simple as missing a daily dose of caffeine can alter your mood and your body. With alcohol withdrawal, these changes are ratcheted up to an intolerable degree.

The most important thing to understand about how the body reacts to alcohol withdrawal is that it’s a physiological syndrome — not just a psychological one. This means that the chemicals in the brain have been altered by heavy or prolonged alcohol use, causing disruptions in the body’s systems. In individuals with severe alcohol withdrawal syndrome, stopping drinking suddenly can even lead to death.

Additionally, the death rate from DT ranges between five and 25 percent, so anyone experiencing the more severe signs of alcohol withdrawal syndrome should seek emergency medical help immediately. Alcohol withdrawal may have played a role in the death of celebrated singer, Amy Winehouse, who passed away in 2011 after years battling alcohol addiction.

Medically Supervised Detox at Summit Behavior Health

Summit Behavioral Health offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient programs, as well as medically supervised alcohol detox, to help people overcome prescription and illegal drug addiction, alcohol addiction, and co-occurring disorders. You can speak to one of our professional alcoholism treatment experts about a treatment plan specifically tailored to you or your loved one’s goals and needs at 1-844-643-3869.

Cameron Richardson, Nick Stevenson and Romen McPherson also star in this thrilling film. This film was created and produced by Smokehammer Media and being distributed by Level 33 domestically and Red Sea internationally with a release planned in late Summer of 2017.

Fischer will be starring in The Executioners as David, a seemingly nice guy who may have a darker side. Justin was also the stunt coordinator for this project. This group of lifelong friends have planned a party at a house, where they have vacationed for years, to celebrate the next step in their lives. This film was directed by Giorgio Serafini and domestic distribution is being done by Lionsgate-Grindstone, and Voltage internationally.

As a young man growing up in Central and South Texas, Justin enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and playing team sports. He has spent 5 years studying Integrated Defense, a tactical combatives program designed for military and law enforcement groups based on Pilipino Kali, PTK. He has served as an instructor to local police departments teaching knife and weapon retention skills.

Justin has trained extensively to hone his acting craft and he continues to love the challenge of “playing in the sandbox.” He has trained in a number of acting styles, fight choreography and utility stunts. As a producer and director, Justin has worked on Flashburn, The Executioners, a TV Series called Welcome 2 Buda and a music video for a 5-time Grammy winner.

Justin’s favorite quote:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming: Wow! What a ride!”

Justin is a current resident of Atlanta, Georgia but splitting his time in Austin, Texas with family.

Rand Spear Philadelphia Car Accident Lawyer Notes The Top Teen Driving Mistakes

Philadelphia, 05/17/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

One way parents can help their young drivers stay safe behind the wheel is to know the types of driving mistakes teens are most likely to make. When parents and teen drivers are aware of what kinds of bad driving habits they’re inclined to form, they can take steps to avoid them, adds Philadelphia car accident lawyer Rand Spear.

AAA Teen Driving Study

A recent study conducted by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety reveals that top teen driving mistakes include speeding, driver distractions, and poor visual scanning.

Speeding. Speed was a factor in 11 percent of the teen driver crashes AAA studied.

Driver Distractions. Driver distractions accounted for 10 percent of all car accidents involving teenagers. Driver distractions can include everything from GPS devices and cell phones to putting on makeup and interacting with passengers.

Poor Visual Scanning. In 14 percent of teen car accidents, the main factor was poor visual scanning. Teen drivers are inexperienced. Unlike more mature drivers, they haven’t developed the instinct to constantly scan their surroundings. And unlike more experienced drivers, they can’t predict or anticipate how other drivers will behave.

Additional teen driving mistakes included not checking for traffic, bad turning techniques, not braking properly, and a lack of knowledge of the rules of the road.

Philadelphia car accident lawyer Rand Spear explains, “These statistics are particularly troubling when you consider that car accidents are the leading cause of death among teenagers. An astounding one in five 16-year-old drivers will be involved in a crash in just the first year of driving.”

Teen drivers have higher rates of accidents per driver and per mile driven than any other demographic.

If you’re the parent of a teen driver, you can help by talking to your child about safe driving habits, as well as what types of dangerous activities to avoid behind the wheel. It’s also important for parents to model good driving behavior.

For example, if your kids see you constantly glancing at your phone as you drive, they may develop ideas that using a mobile phone while you drive is perfectly normal and acceptable.

The Talented Actress Farida Will Be Playing A Complicated Psychological Role

Los Angeles, CA, USA, 05/17/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Dark Stains of Steel

The young, and talented actress Farida will be playing a complicated psychological role in the new movie Stains of Steel, directed by Alberto Frezza, in which she plays a mentally disturbed person who falls in love with a murderer. This is one of the hardest roles that Farida ever played because unlike the others the main character is very twisted, and this is revealed later on in the movie. Farida wrote the script and starred in the movie at the same time, and it will be seen in film festivals in Egypt, Italy, and Los Angeles.

The movie Stains of Steel is a movie with a more complicated plot than any of the other mainstream films out there. Farida played Willow which is her darkest role to date. The mood of the movie is quiet and unnerving much like something one would expect to see in a mystery.

Farida’s performance in the movie is so convincing, because she plays it with such fervor. Her character Willow is a mother who comes from a middle class background and she lost her child eight months ago. Despite the emotionally painful death of her child, Willow still washes his clothes in the laundromat every week. There is something odd about the relationship that Willow has with this man that she named Jack. She meets him at a twenty four hour laundry room at least once every week. The plot thickens even more when one takes into account the fact that the audience is oblivious to the dark secret in the movie. In Stains of Steel the characters know more than the viewers watching.

Stains of Steel is a film scarier than Psycho, which is famous because it changed the horror genre. The bulk of the movies that people watch usually have a good protagonist fighting against an evil villain. In this movie there is no good and evil. There is a woman who suffered the tragic loss of her son, but she can’t be considered a protagonist by any stretch of the English language, because she is far from a victim. Even though Willow didn’t play any role in her son’s death, that doesn’t change the fact that she is still guilty because she knows who the killer is and refuses to make him pay for his crimes. And then there is Jack, a young, elegant, and polite young man who feels depressed, and isn’t able to move on with his life.

Farida is a great actress who plays a lot of action roles, and has lots of experience working in the film industry. Nevertheless she admits that this was a very difficult role to play for a variety of reasons. Willow is a person of many contradictions and she is an extremely complex character. When the audience sees the movie they will either lover her or hate her. Farida has worked extra hard on this role in order to try and understand the weird relationship that Willow and Jack have in the story. All the hard work paid off when Farida played the role perfectly and the character came to life on screen.

Aviation Lawyer Says – FAA Fines Amazon For Shipping Hazardous Materials By Air

New York City, NY, 05/12/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

When most people think about aviation and airline travel, they automatically think of passenger airlines. However, cargo flights are in the sky just as often as airplanes that carry people, and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has strict rules for the types of cargo these planes are permitted to have on board.

Recently, the FAA cracked down on retail giant Amazon for flying hazardous materials in violation of federal safety rules. Furthermore, this most recent fine is not an isolated incident. According to a Forbes report, Amazon is facing over $1 million in fines for a variety of shipping violations.

If you have been hurt in any kind of aviation accident, you need the help of an experienced lawyer. Discuss your case with a New York City aviation accident lawyer as soon as possible.

FAA Rules for Hazardous Materials

The FAA has specific rules for the proper handling of hazardous materials on airplanes. When you consider that a Boeing 747 burns one gallon of fuel every second and can carry up to 238,604 liters of fuel, it’s easy to understand why the federal government puts strict rules in place for the transport of flammable and hazardous materials.

Most recently, the FAA announced that it has proposed a $130,000 fine against Amazon for shipping corrosive rust stain preventer by air. Just two weeks before that, the FAA said it will fine Amazon $350,000 for shipping a package containing corrosive drain cleaner that leaked through the box and burned several UPS workers.

The FAA also reports that Amazon had 24 hazardous materials violations between 2013 and 2015, with leaks occurring in 15 of these incidents.

Cargo Plane Fire

Although there have been no reports of the hazardous materials leaks causing fires or other emergencies on board the aircraft in the Amazon case, a separate incident in Florida caused a fire on board a FedEx cargo plane. According to a CNN report, a large fireball exploded out of the aircraft’s side after the plane’s landing gear collapsed during landing. Fortunately, no one was injured in that accident.

New York City Aviation Accident Law Firm

If you have been injured during a flight or on the ground in an aviation accident, you may be entitled to compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, and other damages. Aviation accidents are complex cases that usually involve both state and federal law. It’s important to work with a lawyer known for getting exceptional results in this area of law.

Farida Is A Brilliant And Talented Actress Who Has Brought Tears To Audiences

Los Angeles, CA, USA, 05/11/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

Words of Solace

Farida Abdel Aziz is a brilliant and talented actress who has brought tears to audiences in both film and television because of her impeccable ability to play emotional roles, and her performance in Words, a movie written by Lamia Alshwwier and Farida Abdel Aziz. The movie was screened at the Warner Brothers Studio, and is on it’s way to the film festival in Dubai as well as other places all over the world.

Words is a drama film about a little girl named Haya who was raped by a plumber. When she got older she traveled to Los Angeles to start a new life. Haya attempts to drown out her pain from the past in drugs, alcohol, shady friends, and even religion. No matter how hard she tries to kill her horrible memories of the past, and forget her painful ordeal nothing helps her achieve this goal. Eventually she decides to publish a video on the web, in which she proceeds to discuss how she was sexually abused as a child.

Farida’s depiction of the character Haya is positively astounding. Unlike most actresses she has a unique gift, for playing three dimensional characters that have the quality, of being very believable. Her character has a multitude of complex emotions to deal with, resulting from the troublesome past she had, when she was raped at a very young age. There are no words to describe how well Farida acted out the role of Haya in this movie. She created an impassioned, intense atmosphere in the film Words that also went into great depth, about the seriousness of sexual abuse, and violence against women.

Words is one of the simplest titles ever used for a film. Despite it’s modesty, this title sums up what the character Haya is trying to do, after being physically and emotionally abused. She is making an effort to speak and make her voice heard, by posting a video on the internet to share her pains, and struggles with the rest of the world but to no avail. She gets ridiculed in the process, and the comments section of her page ends up getting filled, with hateful comments from viewers. Heartless and cruel people write to Haya making statements such as “you deserve to die” and other violent, and sexist language that claim she was looking for attention. After being attacked, in the most vicious and personal way Haya contemplates, whether or not she should commit suicide. Her confidence is restored, after seeing some positive responses to her first video, and she decides to record another video and keep on living until she heals.

Some of the films Farida starred in recently included both drama and action movies. The movie Words will be very well received at film festivals, and in theatres around the world. In the artistic and glamorous world of acting, Farida is a true entertainer, who earned her place on the stage with distinction. She is also highly respected for her willingness to play difficult roles that involve hate crimes, social issues, and other controversial problems.

Philadelphia Truck Accident Lawyer: New Regulations To Reduce Truck Accidents

Philadelphia, 05/11/2017 /SubmitPressRelease123/

If you drive down any busy highway, you’re guaranteed to see a large number of semi-trucks. While most semi operators obey the law, they also drive on the clock, and they suffer financial consequences if they don’t make deliveries on schedule. With so much pressure to “get it there faster,” it’s no wonder that semi-truck drivers sometimes push and exceed speed limits, says Rand Spear Philadelphia truck accident lawyer.

Now, a proposed federal rule wants to change that. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) have come together to propose changes to the law that would require trucks weighing over 26,000 pounds to be outfitted with a device that would prevent them from driving over a certain speed.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the trucking industry has been vocal in its opposition to the proposed rule. One popular trucking website that features an opinion from the executive director of the National Motorists Association Foundation that states: “…there’s plenty of evidence that shows why devices that keep trucks from accelerating above a certain level for what is likely to be a short distance isn’t a good idea.”

Stats on Large Truck Crashes

However, proponents of the speed limiter rule say you need only look at the recent large truck crash statistics to find evidence to support the proposed rule.

Data gathered by the FMCSA reveals that excessive speed contributes to over 33 percent of all traffic accidents, with 23 percent of those involving large trucks. In 2014 alone, semi-trucks and buses were involved in more than 4,000 crashes.

Currently, federal regulators are considering three proposed maximum speed limits for the limiting technology: 60, 65, and 68 miles per hour.

Philadelphia Truck Accident Lawyer Discusses Semis and Excessive Speed

Philadelphia truck accident lawyer Rand Spear states, “There’s no question that speed contributes to a lot of semi-truck accidents. If the proposed rule passes, truckers would be forced to drive at reduced speeds, which could in turn reduce the number of speed-related collisions on the nation’s highways.”

However, opponents of the rule point out that slowing down semis could have unintended consequences, such as more traffic congestion, which could lead to an increase in accidents. They also claim that speed limiters could make other motorists frustrated, causing a spike in road rage incidents.
