Now that the hurricane has passed, here are some helpful tips for “safety after the storm” provided by National Building Expert Lance Luke.

1. Look around the property for fallen bushes and trees, sunken ground, ponding water, debris and things out of place.

2. Check out the roof for any missing, loose or cracked roofing shingles, bent or loose flashing and gutters.

3. Empty water from containers, as flower pots or empty containers with water attract mosquitoes.

4. Check for any hanging or downed electrical lines. Do not touch the wires. Call 911 immediately and tell them the situation.

5. Check out the house foundation, siding, doors, and windows for any damage.

6. Consider hiring a professional home inspector or general contractor to inspect the property for damage.

7. Use a camera and take photos/videos as they may be needed for insurance purposes.

8. Be aware of standing water inside the home as there may be a risk of waterborne bacterial contaminants. Water may also cause damage to electrical wiring and contribute to mold growth in drywall and building components made of wood such as cabinets and wood laminate flooring.

When asked to comment, Deloughery said, “There are a few guidelines that help ensure the protection of your financial assets that everyone needs to be aware of.”

“Keeping your financial estate safely within your control but not in your name is one of the best ways to protect your assets. What you don’t own can’t be taken from you,” Deloughery says.

Deloughery is referring to using sophisticated legal structures to own your wealth. He isn’t referring to transferring your life savings to your wife or your uncle!

“Sometimes, people might be tempted to title their assets to a spouse or third party if they are in legal trouble. However, this can easily backfire, and be viewed as a fraudulent transfer,” Deloughery said.

“Even if in the unlikely event this type of transfer was not viewed as fraudulent, something unexpected could happen to the person you made the transfer to. If they get sued for any reason e.g. they end up in some form of accident that is deemed as their fault, then your assets could be up for grabs. Things could also become even more complicated if you decide to divorce after you’ve put your financial estate in your spouse’s name,” he said.

A second principle is to never trust people when it comes to money.

Deloughery says, “There are ways of having checks and balances to prevent theft and mismanagement. For example, you can require period accountings. And even though a financial account may not be in your personal name, there can be another person with power to remove the person controlling the account.”

When asked about the best time to create an assset protection plan, Deloughery said, “Both whisky and asset protection get better with age.”

What he means is that legal structures that are set up far in advance of a lawsuit are much stronger than actions taken right before (or during) a lawsuit.

“The premise here is the primary purpose for planning should not be to avoid paying creditors. This may sound counter-intuitive in the context of talking about asset protection. But the best asset protection plan also takes into consideration estate planning (documenting who gets what when a person passes away), tax planning, and business planning.” he said.

If this isn’t the case Deloughery’s view is there is a danger that a court could order that any assets that were transferred out of someone’s name need to get returned in order to pay their creditors due to the court feeling that the asset protection plan was purely created to avoid payng creditors.

“Transfers that are deemed by a court as fraudulent are more common than people think and come with heavy fines. It simply means transferring assets from your name at a less than reasonable equivalent value in an attempt to defraud the creditor,” Deloughery commented.

Finally, Deloughery made the point, “There’s a rule when it comes to asset protection that ‘Pigs get fat, but hogs get slaughtered.”

“In other words, if your life savings consists of $2 million, don’t put it all in an offshore bank account. That doesn’t leave you any money to live on and it looks inherently unreasonable. It also puts you in the position of possibly getting sued and then having to access the funds for your support. A U.S. court could reason that if you can access the funds for your support, you can access them to pay your creditors.”

“At the end of the day, asset protection planning is part art and part science and there is no cookie cutter solution,” he said.

Ether Kingdoms Finishes Beta Testing as it Conducts Second Round of Airdrop

Worlds first Free-2-Play PoS crypto mining game is coming out of beta testing as it prepares for the second round of its airdrop.

Moscow, Russia – August 25, 2018

Ether Kingdoms is the first Free-2-Play cryptocurrency game with Proof Of Stake mining. Unlike other gimmicky alternatives, Ether Kingdoms offers it’s players cleverly visualized, full gameplay, and is based on its own PoS token called Imps.

Imps are both tokens within the game and also key characters that earn players real money. Players can earn significant mining rewards (up to 1% per day). To get to 1%, players will need to send the maximum number (10 000) of imps to the mine. To achieve this, players receive a kind of game master node that guarantees them a constant profit.

The IMP token is already being traded on Mercatox and Forkdelta. The developers are working hard to ensure that IMP will soon be listed on more exchanges.

In addition to sending imps to the mine, players can send them to fight another player’s imps. This can be done by using the ‘Fight’ button and specifying how many imps are needed. Players then simply wait for an opponent to accept their challenge. The battle goes on in automatic mode, but players can raise your chances of winning by equipping their imps with artifacts.

Artifacts are ERC721 tokens that make up the collectible component of Ether Kingdoms. They can be sold on special platforms (for example, OpenSea), or exchanged with other players. Artifacts can be traded, bought, and used to participate in weekly leaderboards. Players can also use CryptoKitties tokens in the game as pets, and also receive game bonuses.

Now that Ether kingdoms are out of Beta testing it will continue to develop and grow. During the upcoming fall-winter, Ether Kingdoms players will enjoy:

The economic model of Ether Kingdoms was based on its own token from the beginning without the necessity to hold an ICO or any type of a presale. Token distribution (13 million tokens are planned to be released throughout the game’s existence) is as follows:

15% is reserved for the team and the future development fund;
10% for leaderboards and airdrops
75% is available for mining. The basic development and marketing are carried out using the team’s own funds.
Players can get the IMP tokens by receiving them for free during Airdrops, mining them or purchasing at an exchange. It is the airdrop that makes Ether Kingdoms a Free 2 Play crypto game. The second round of Airdrop will start on August 24 and will be released as a quest chain. The award for each successfully completed quest will be a loot-box that contains a certain number of IMPs and sometimes an artifact.

To start playing Ether Kingdoms today you don’t need to buy the tokens. You can just join the game’s Telegram or Discord channels, receive 10 IMPs and complete several simple quests.

The total Airdrop pool is 350 000 IMP, which is expected to go fast.
